Anyone Getting Or Been Sleeved In Kansas
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to msstori's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm out of olathe ks and am waiting to be sleeved by dr malley. My surgery will be at menorah hospital. I looked into them years ago and decided not to use them for those exact reasons. I then found out later that they have alot of issues with complications, etc. in my opinion I would look elsewhere. Sorry! -

What Do You Want To Do When You Are Healthier?
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I want to be able to keep up with my 5 year old daughter, go on rides at amusement parks, buy cute clothes that don't cost an arm and a leg, go dancing again at a club, wear knee high boots, feel pretty again, buy what I want at the store without people looking at me like you shouldn't be eating that, get rid of my handicapped tag, get off all these meds, having less pain (physically & emotionally), enjoy my life and live it to the fullest each and every day! -
Lol... Congrats thats so awesome & inspiring. I am so scared of saggy skin so I will def be using weights!

Well today's the 4th of July and it was a rather uneventful day. In-laws came over for some hamburgers, hot dogs and corn on the cob. I had a bun-less hamburger with some onion, tomato and avacado, plus a mini corn on the cob. Then they broke out the peanut butter/chocolate ice cream and of course, it's a holiday, so I have to treat myself! Didn't have much, but enough to go over my calories for the day. Oh well, tomorrow's a new day. I've been doing really good anyways. I've already lost 20lbs so... and I still have 2 more months to go of my 3 month waiting period. I am so nervous and yet so impatiently wanting to just get it over with so I can move on already! I feel like I've waited long enough... I've been heavy my whole life so it just seems like it's enough already. Then again, I'm glad I have some time to adjust to the new way of eating and getting things ready before surgery gets here... lol. Can you tell I'm a Gemini? Back and forth my mind goes... it's annoying, but I'm used to it. Anyways, I've been on here for a little while now and have met some really cool people that have really helped me and given me a lot of good information and things to think about. I definitely know the sleeve is the right choice for me, I'm just so scared of the surgery itself. Oh well, I imagine there would be something a little off if you were not nervous at all. Just trying to wait out my time. I'm sure it'll be here before I know it, but it seems like it's taking forever. My little girl starts kindergarten in August so I'm glad it'll at least be after that. Well, I'm gonna close now. Later all!

Ready To Get This Surgery!
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to cjloveydovey's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome! I'm pre-op too... You can learn alot by doing searches on subjects and reading the feeds. -
So... here I am at 1:00 in the morning. Reading VST as always, lol. I go for my second pre-op dr's visit on Monday the 9th. I have a 3 month waiting period before I can have the surgery so I think I am looking at Sept/Oct for surgery. I really think this surgery will change my life for the better in so many ways, but man am I have second thoughts. I guess the thought of possibly dying and leaving behind my baby girl (she's almost 5 but still my baby) and my husband and family is just...

What Was Your Breaking Point?

What Was Your Breaking Point?
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to shellbell125's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm just like you! I have been looking into this for a long time and I really believe it's what I need to do, but at the same time I am terrified of having this surgery. I keep thinking maybe I should try one more time to do it myself or maybe I haven't tried hard enough. I think it's the permanency of it that is so scary and that there is technically nothing wrong with my stomach and they're gonna cut it out of me, so extreme. I just keep praying that God will take care of me, calm my nerves, etc if this surgery is meant to be. -
Marriage After Being Sleeved.....
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to MrzSongbird's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand what you ladies are saying, but for me, I've always been heavy, not necessarily this heavy but definitely well over "normal". Also, I do have health issues that have caused me to not be able to lose weight like I should or wanted. So I think I see it from a little different perspective. I guess I'm lucky because I already have a husband who looks at me, the way I am, and wants to be with me. Where the "spark" has been lost is within myself, which definitely affects our relationship. There are many benefits that will come from having this surgery, but ultimately it's for my health. Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers, just saying if you had a husband who doesn't love you for you, no matter what, thats sad to me. -
Marriage After Being Sleeved.....
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to MrzSongbird's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems like the whole point of "for better our worse" is being completely overlooked here. I'm sorry but I did not marry my husband because of his physical appearance. Is that part of what initially attracted me to him, sure, but definitely not why I married him. Same for him towards me. I mean what if you were in some horrific accident and disfigured? Would that qualify as grounds for divorce? I'm sorry but this whole feed makes me sad for those of you who feel you have to "maintain" your physical appearance for any other reason then your health, that should be everyone's main concern, especially those with children! If your husband can't love you for you no matter what, then you shouldn't be together. -
Congrats and good luck!

New In The Neighborhood...any Advice Would Be Great
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to jwade77's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
F'in insurance companies! Sorry, but that just pisses me off. That any insurance company would deny if it's medically necessary is ridiculous! But they'll pay for you to be on 50 different meds and a c-pap, etc that cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars... I really hope everything works out for you! -
From what I've read sometimes it can be because they took the stomach out on that side so it can be a little more sore, but I'd touch base with your doc to be sure.

Protein Shakes - Help!
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to BAYOUSLEEVE225's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The nectar is no fat or sugar for most if not all flavors. They are 100 calories for one scoop which is 23 grams protein. I found a sample pack online too for like $18.99 and it had like almost every flavor... -

Also smart water might help, but I'd say sip on some juice or sprite just don't overdo it. -
Protein Shakes - Help!
Pre-OpLoser619 replied to BAYOUSLEEVE225's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really like nectar's shakes! They have ones you can make like a juice drink or the others that are like shakes. I use the chocolate truffle and vanilla (i add frozen fruit to make it more like a shake). Got them at vitamin shoppe. Good luck! -
From what I've read...alot of people say it can be the side they took your stomach out... Just an idea. Congrats & good luck!
