    I'm Getting Sleeved Today!

    wish you a speedy recovery!
  10. no I am sorry, 17 of them = 1 serving. 9 grams of protein. I nuke it for 45 seconds.
  11. I second the turkey pepperoni but I put them on a papertowel and nuke them in microwave. Its almost chip like...and of course an ounce of cheddar on the side. 1 serving of the pepperoni is 17. yummy!
  12. I can totally relate! I signed up for the 6 month classes required by my insurance convinced I would not have surgery. But when I started thinking how many years (I am 51) have been wasted, dieting, not losing weight, not doing everything I wanted to do because of weight, you realize enough is enough. I too am waiting for insurance approval. Cheers to us and a new life!

    I Have f**king Had It!

well I see part way through the postings you had reposted you feel better. I was going to tell you I understand, I am waiting for surgery and already mentally preparing myself as best I can for what might occur. Not everyone heals as quickly or as painlessly. When I read your screaming frustration it reminded me of when we give birth. Of course its worth it and joyful at the end...but there are a few moments there sometimes during labor when you wonder what they heck you were thinking when you signed on for this....I look forward to reading and celebrating your progress!
  14. thank you for sharing your story. It is nice to see how well you did after your surgery and I am sure people who are considering surgery in Mexico really, really, appreciate the detail. Keep posting so we can watch your progress!

Insurance Filed By Surgical Office This Morning :)

Good Luck I really hope everything is able to happen timely for you insurance wise!!!
  16. doesn't say how enlarged, no s/s. Think my surgeon will just put me on a strict pre op diet? he usually only has you stay away from carbs and sugar but this may change things...I am kind of worried now. I really need to have this surgery and need to have it in the next month to 6 weeks due to work obligations. Anyone have a preop ultrasound that showed enlarged liver?
  17. thanks, I am glad to hear it may not be an issue as far as my surgery. I did log everything on my fitness pal today and met my goals. If I can continue to I have surgery I am sure I shall do well!
  18. I joined my fitness pal and logged my food yesterday and today. I am trying to stay under 50 grams of carbs and low calorie till my surgery.
  19. I do not have a date yet, just finally finished everything so they can submit to insurance. I think I will jump back on the real low carb (under 30) right now. That way maybe I will be ahead of the game.
  20. Chad, I am sorry this is happening to you and especially that is happening right now. Physically I think you will probably be fine. I am going to be pretty much on my own after surgery. I think planning ahead, shopping, will make everything easier, its what I plan on doing. I also purchased a big comfy recliner as I think it may be easier to get out of in the beginning. We are nurses, somehow we manage. I am glad you made the decision to not postpone your surgery, this is for your health, your life and you deserve it! Regardless of what happens with your wife, a healthier, happier you in the future is what is best. I was married for 30 years and we went through some rough spots and split up, during that time we both had health scares and despite not being "together" we both were actively involved in the medical decisions and recuperation. Frankly, I cannot imagine loving someone for that long and not being willing to be by their side when they need you. I am hoping your wife comes through for you but volunteering all of us here to be your support if needed.
  21. I feel bad posting this because I know the majority of the people on her have 1-2 week liquid pre-op diets and I cannot even imagine the difficulty, so I feel like a whiner but.. I was so excited about finally making my decision for surgery and living on the boards for awhile. I had first consult with surgeon and he say start no sugar, no salt, no soda, low carb diet. I was doing well the first week but then found out that the under 100 grams of carbs is not really low carb and I need to be under 50. So I dropped to less than 50 and by day 4 I was sick, I had to leave my grandson's sports game, I almost fainted at the grocery store and I ended up spending a day in my bed. (almost like the flu). I added carbs and have not lost any weight, but the real concern is this: AFTER surgery, I know you need to eat your Proteins, you cannot even get carbs in, how will I manage, will my body adapt?? Do you find yourself weak, feeling as if you will pass out or have the flu? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

    Seriously Worried... Help!

Most of the answer is age, elasticity of the skin, genetics and amount of time overweight. In other words things you do not have alot of control over. Things that will help are exercise with strength training (weights) stay hydrated, take your vitamins, try the skin brushing. But at the end of the day it is easier to hide some excess skin or have it dealt with then to hide 100 lbs of fat. Also, skin does not contribute to heart disease, respiratory problems, high blood pressure or diabetes.
