Good luck to you! I'm not sure how I missed this, but Dr. Looser is my doctor too. I like him a lot and feel that I'm in good hands.

Thanks so much for your supportive words. I hate giving in to the "poor-me's", but I did. I appreciate your reminders. -
J-Tube / Drain, Makes Me Sick
Mctrisha66 replied to shane5958's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm sorry about the drain/tube. The whole thing is nauseating. I hope you're feeling better soon. I'm kind of depressed today. I had my surgery on June 1st and had a rough time with anesthesia, which resulted in a longer than normal hospital stay. Once I got out of the hospital, I had a few good days and a few bad days. On June 18th I had abdominal pain all day, which resulted in a trip to the ER and a three day hospital stay along with exploratory surgery. I'm now on liquids for four more weeks and feel crappy. I'm tired, my stomach hurts and I've almost lost sight of why I had this surgery. Yeah, this is me whining. Hoping and praying that tomorrow will be brighter. -
June 1st. It's been a rocky road since and I'm hoping and praying it gets better.

I was sleeved on June 1st and last Friday was put on, what my program calls it, Stage 4 foods last week. Stage 4 is moist, ground meat, lite cheeses, etc. Well, that didn't agree with my tummy. I found myself in the ER Monday night and had a two day sleepover at the hospital along with an exploratory surgery to see what was causing the crushing pain in my stomach. Good news is that my stomach was only inflamed and nothing was leaking. Bad news is that I now have four more weeks of a liquid diet. My surgeon said he was seeing some sleevers who had to be on a liquid diet a lot longer than the other type surgeries. So, take it easy everyone who is looking forward to their next phase of diet. I still dream of the day when I can enjoy a small slice of pizza and a salad <------ my all time favorite meal. I'm a pretty cheap date.

I am two weeks out and I was feeling the same way you were the first week. I will tell you that the worst of the head hunger has passed. Hang in there and know it's only temporary.

Insurance Coverage Without Co Morbidities?
Mctrisha66 replied to Sannah's topic in Insurance & Financing
My BMI was just at 40 and I never had one issue with approval (BCBS). I will say I was shocked when I received the first billing from the hospital, which didn't cover the surgeons. Wow. Oh well, it's been 2 weeks since yesterday that I had the surgery and the weight is dropping off! -
My surgeon told me to expect numbness due to the nerves being cut. I haven't experienced it yet, but I do still have numbness from my c-sections of 10 and 7 years ago.

New To Vst, Gerd Question, But Already Inspired.
Mctrisha66 replied to spiffikeen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, I'm new here, too. My surgery was June 1st and to be honest, it was a bit of struggle to lose the required 10 pounds and it has been a struggle to stay satiated since. My program requires a post-op liquid diet for 2-3 weeks. I feel rather ashamed to say this, but I'm hungry! I guess more than anything, I'm afraid that even with this surgery, I'm still going to be hungry. I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that once I go on more solid foods I won't be so obsessed with feeling hungry for food. I'm sure this didn't help you, but your post made me want to write. Good luck to you. -
15 Months Out- Feeling Like A Failure
Mctrisha66 replied to ILKrista's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Reaching out for help is the right thing to do. Food addiction is so stinkin' difficult to overcome alone. I've been struggling since the day after my surgery, which was only 8 days ago. It's gonna be a long road. I pray that I have the strength to overcome. -
I went to my first informational seminar in January at a local hospital. I forged ahead from there and received my surgery date in early May after waiting only two weeks for insurance approval. Looking back, it doesn't seem that the process took a long time. I had my surgery on June 1st at 7:30 a.m. Surgery went fine, but I staying in the hospital for four nights due to nausea and vomiting, which resulted from anesthesia. I was NOT prepared for that. On day four I had a psychological set back because I felt so sick. I had doubts about my decision to have the surgery. There were a few dark hours, but after a decent night's sleep, I felt better. Today is day seven and I feel pretty good. And even have lost 10 pounds since last Thursday. Side note: I'm hungry. Hungry, hungry, hungry.

Mctrisha66 replied to melissamae99's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Day 7 for me. I'm hungry! I want real food. It feels like emotional torture. I will make it through, but it's going to be tough. So sorry for your cravings. You are not alone, nor misunderstood. -
