I agree with y'all. My doc said concentrate on hydrating first then protein. It will come soon enuf. His nurse suggested New Whey bullets. 42g protein . I can sip that easily as its only 4oz. Fills me up. Found at vitamin shoppe. I also like the premier shakes from Costco.

Help!my Sweet Tooth Is Out Of Control :s
SLIM12 replied to shinelily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You aren't eating enough proteins. My doc said focus on them first then there'll be very little room for anything else. Try the protein ready to drinks, I think they'll satisfy your sweet cravings. -
Today was my 2 week check up. My surgery was 6-18. My surgery experience was textbook. No nausea, only complaint was gas pain in shoulder. I stayed 2 nights as I didn't get back to my room on surgery day TIL 8pm. Enjoyed my morphine drip. Sipped room temp water in hospital and that's all I wanted. Oh did I mention down 25lbs. Wooooohooooo. I didn't weigh after surgery so it was a pleasant surprise. Still in liquid stage. However Dr said I could have puréed soft vegetables. Soooooo tonight it's cauliflower that's been prepared to mimic mashed potatoes. He wants me to get in 60-80 grams protein per day. Found New Whey bullets at Vitamin Shoppe. 42g protein. Have one mid morning and bariatric advantage, or unjury shakes. I do have 1 c caff and one cup decaf coffee every am. Room temp. At least 48oz fluids. Just bought a book "Skinny Rules" by Bob Harper. This book will take me to my goal and beyond (once I'm into solid foods) ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS I'VE EVER MADE!

Are the premier protein shakes ready to drink? -
Okay I woke up feeling great this morning. So I had my usual protein drink and coffee. Then water. Then fage 0% yogurt with peach and half banana pulverized in food processor, for lunch. More water.. Then some more broth. Oh I'm 6 days post surgery. Anyway I had the munches. Boredom not hungry. Then I put one of the little breaks tone cottage cheese pots with a little salsa on it and ran it thru food processor. More yogurt. And on and on. Then I began to feel bad. Gas pain returned. Stomach pain. Basically just feel yucky. Lordie I hope I haven't done any damage to my sleeve. Will definitely follow my instruction to the letter of the law,

Thanks sleevers good advice. I woke up feeling great this morning. Re-read my notebook I made with all my instructions, etc. I'm back on track and motivated to do the right thing. Guess I tested the sleeve and yes it works! Yes I drink de-caf coffee. I cup a day. Thanks again!

Perfectly said. Prior to surgery I interviewed several people and asked them if they had any regrets. They all said just one WISH I HAD HAD THE SURGERY SOONER! -

WOW great website thanks for posting! -
Hey Crafty, so glad to hear you are feeling better. We were both on Monday. I stayed in hospital an extra night as I wasn't keep up the good work! doing too well with swallowing and I had some extra procedures. I've been dressing exclusively tee shirt dresses. Very comfy. I'm still a little sore but have only taken pain med once. My only real issue is my left shoulder and chest area. It's like I have one big gas pocket.

Surgery was 6-18...... Stayed an extra day cuz of gall bladder removal and hiatal hernia repair. Glad I did. Still have those pesky gas pains. Tired of laying around. Early in the AM going to work a little in yard to get some exercise. Enjoying SF Popsicles , broth, crystal light. Not hungry so that's fine. Love to hear from my fellow 18thers.
