I Need Encouragement
ctinch replied to indyhandmade's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its always rough at first just be patient with yourself, but at the same time hold yourself accountable. If you don't all your efforts to make this happen will be for nothing. Pick an activity that you enjoy or one you think you might enjoy. Since your just starting out you might want to try turbo jam. It seems difficult but its really pretty easy and the lnstructor is very motivating. You'll just be dancing and kicking the whole time. If thats too much take early walks in your favorite park and take in the scenery. You can do this. I had a hard time with exercise too but if you make it part of your day at a set time every day it becomes part of your schedule and something that becomes a constant. Now that I do that I went from exercising 3 to 4 days a week to every day all because I carved it into my schedule and said no more excuses and found things I liked to do. -
How Much Have You Lost?
ctinch replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi! My name is Candice! I'm pretty new here. I have lost so far a total of 170lbs in about 2yrs. Its was a real struggle due to the fact that doctors I had had me on some pretty rough medications that restricted my weightloss. I first had the band put on to control my weight because from the medication I was on I went from a healthy 160 to a whopping 345! My primary care physican was like the pscychiatrists aren't willing to budge and we have put you on every diet change and exercise implementation so this is the next step or your not going to make it. At first I wasn't losing weight at all just maintaining because of the medication so I took action and demanded they put me on something else with the support of my boyfriend. Because I really thought there was nothing I could do. So now here I am 170lbs lighter. I still have like a little less than 20 to go to get to my matinence wieght. But I am very pleased with my acccomplishment! Now we are even starting to plan a family! I'm doing things I never thought I'd be able to do again like jog a couple of miles do pushups, intense cardio training, p90x, insanity! Its crazy! I'm proud of me and of everyone who had the courage to charge and make a change in their lives! -
I can totally relate to this. Now that people know alot of them are like that is the only reason I lost weight! I just want to scream at them and say yes it helped but if I hadn't made any effort whatsoever I doubt I would be down 169lbs!
