    Sugar

Wearing pants, and a light jacket, feeling the crisp cool air on my body. I used to love football season, but the Bills have sucked for years, so I don't watch. And of course, I love the sound of crinkling leaves under my feet as I walk.
  2. What are the nutrition stats on those Walmart Protein Bars?
  3. Hummus with carrots Imitation (or if you can afford it, real) seafood flakes. I break it all up, add a little mayo and spices, yummy! Add a smidge of cocktail sauce to spice it up. Goes well in an omelet too. Tuna on top of whole wheat triscuits or cucumbers. chicken breast in a can, mayo. Lump Crab in a can. I've heard some people use soft cheese (Skinny Cow? Baby Bell?) to mix with the tuna. Chicken Breast, cut in strips, placed in a hot sautee pan misted with butter spray. Sautee the chicken in Franks hot sauce, then spray more butter spray or use a smidge of butter. When chicken is no longer pink, remove from heat and enjoy (or not) with some LF Blue Cheese, celery and carrots. Tastes like a wing without skin. I'm from Buffalo, it passes my strict standars! Good luck finding ideas, I hopes this helps you...

Very Unpleasant Fill - Skill Level?

My PA does a better job than my surgeon! She does poke and prod (with her fingers), and I do have to lift my straight legs about a foot high to tighten my tummy so she can find the port. But she gets it every time.

    Band Slippage

You're 10 weeks in and don't know how your band works? Please, please contact your surgeon and his staff to learn about what you have gotten yourself into, as I see red flags in your post that concern me. To learn more about "restriction" or fills, follow this link, it's quite helpful. http://drsimpson.net/fills/How-to-know-if-you-need-lap-band-fill/How-to-know-if-you-need-lap-band-fill.htm I hope you find what you need, good luck on your new journey!
  6. starting nova, I was banded in 07, did very well for a year. I don't remember how much I lost. But, as they say so often, s&it happened, my mental health plummeted downward and I stopped adhering to the band rules. I had a complete unfill in 08. I lived the last 4 years as if I had no band, and I essentially gave up. At the end of summer, this year, I had an epiphany. I know, sounds cheesey, but I did. I found an awesome therapist who helped/is helping me with all my mental garbage and food addiction. So, I decided that I wanted to live! I care now. Like you, this time around is completely different for me. I'm like a newbie sometimes, veteran other times. I had about a two week battle with this addiction since I went back to my surgeon, but my posse and some select people here on LBT helped me through it. I can now hold my head high, because I lived and I learned and I changed. The first time around in 07, I was changing my food intake. This time I am changing that AND my lifestyle. It's truly amazing how I see things now, with new eyes. I have a 10cc band that has a 1/2 cc in it, so basically nothing. But I eat as if I had more cc's. It's hard to keep from eating more food than I'm allowed, but I'm doing it for the most part, and I'm proud! My WLS clinic wants to take the fills slowly. I'll get to a good place with my band eventually. So....You're not the only one who was banded several years ago and came back to do it over, the right way! I have faith in you. I welcome you back to banded living. I welcome you to LBT.
  7. Oh, but really, caulflower? I've heard you can't tell the difference, but I would. Eww.

    A Little Sad :(

"...I'm not a bad person just want to be respected." Don't let that negative feeling enter your head, you are most definately a good person! Makes me sad you'd even think that. I can assure you, you will be respected around here! And you'll learn how to get other people "outside" ro respect you. Have faith, good person!

    Wow U Eat That!?

There are really no 100% factual conclusions to draw from all this. Let's stop splitting hairs and agree to disagree and just move on.

  16. You know, I've read that a lot of people stop thinking about food so much after being banded. I don't get this, as I think about food all the time! I think about what "can" have, what "can't" I have, how do I fit this food into my week, when is my next scheduled eating time, the food on TV commercials is way off limits most of the time but it doesn't go unoticed. Food is every where! I plan my shopping ahead of time, I shop for it, I cook it, I eat it, I talk about it. How can one NOT think about food all the time, in healthy terms as well as in not-so-healthy ways. The holidays are coming, food, drink, food, drink. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Everythings about this lifestyle I'm changing. I think I just needed to vent, but I don't feel better.

How Do You Not Think About Food?

Dana, That's how it is with me! I'm constantly thinking of what healthy foods to eat. I never thought about food when I was an active overeater, I just blindly bought this bad food or that. Now, I buy good things. Just wish I could go through a day where I didn't have to eat or think about food, a sort of rest.

    Diet Soda

I was banded in 07, I've been drinking loads of caff free SF cola the whole time. But since I jumped back on the wagon recently, I asked my NUT of pop was ok. No. But I could make it flat first. Don't know how I got away with drinking pop for 4 years. Coke Zero is very good, flat. So, I know of what you speak, and I wish you luck!

What Is Your Game Plan For The Holidays?

Hm. We go to our friends house for Thansgiving and Christmas. The are American-Italian and their mantra is "Manja, manja!" But not for me. I plan on eating a tiny portion of Turkey (protein), Broccoli (veggie) and I want to bring a side dish. One that we all can eat, but don't know what. I was thinking a Sweet Potato Dish. I personally like sweet Sweet potatoes. At home, I just mash it with an Equal or two in it and a small touch of butter. But I'd like to make it more interesting, does anyone have a band/carb friendly recipe for sweet potators The biggest problem I'm gonna have when the season starts is, cookies. To me, cookies is a big tradition of Christmas, especially cookie exchanges. I used to LIVE for that. But I'm not making cookies this year. How am I going to go to my friends house where they have a huge assortment of homemade cookies? Die?

    Going Backwards

Yeah, I haven't has my TOM since January, but I can tell my hormones are buzzing cuz my face breaks out. I have a dumb question for you. Two actually... Can you gain Water weight each month, even though you're peri-menopausal? If I stay with my food program during this time, and not gain actual weight, will I lose pounds after that TOM?

    Cupcakes And Lap Band?

I was a cake decorator in a prominent bakery many moon (pies, lol) ago...and what kept me from eating all the profits, was peppermint gum. To me, peppermint and food didn't mix. Maybe it does for some people. Hm. When you're in the back of the bakery, think about all those luscious calories going on your customers' thighs, not yours! You are in control. You have a special situation, and you're gonna have to be creative to be both successful in business as well as a successful bandster. I would imagine you really want both, I think you can do it! As far as the pre-op diet, I don't remember much about that, but what the above poster's said, made sense. Good Luck!
