Reality check..... Knee high boots
Fallenangel2904 replied to chitowngirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you should take them back. If you think about it if they don't fit now and it's February, by the time they fit it will be too warm for them. Then who knows what your calves will measure next Fall/Winter. I know it's discouraging. My calves are super insanely large and I tried on boots a while ago after losing 75lbs and they are still too big for most boots. It sucks, but don't let it discourage you from how far you've come. Eventually you WILL be able to wear boots like those. -
Fat, Normal or Skinny
Fallenangel2904 replied to CocoM's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My goal was health. Skinny was never ever my goal (or my want honestly) I like having some curves. I've always had a lot of confidence even at 380+ pounds so that was never my issue. My issue was I wasn't healthy and I realized that. I don't mind still being plus size even just not as plus as I was lol. I've already lost 74lbs and feel great even at my current weight which is no where near skinny. In another 50 or so pounds ill feel even better. I don't really have a number goal anymore. I started out wanting to see a 1 but even if I don't ill be okay with it. Curvy happy and healthy. That's my goal and I'm cool with it! -

Over 400Lbs Gastric Sleeve Success Story
Fallenangel2904 replied to jasminem89's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wasn't quite 400lbs but close. I was over 380 at my biggest but I think I was closer to 400 then I thought. I was too big for my scale. I have got down to 359 for surgery. I'm 2 and a half months out and down to 305. All together 74lbs lost so far. As a heavy weight is is a longer journey but it is completely doable. I wasn't sure I would be successful with the sleeve at first at my weight but I'm convinced I can now. There is a BMI over 50 board on OH and some of the people there started over 400 and have lost a LOT. It's very inspiring. -
I started it yesterday. It was rough for me. I have never run in pretty much my adult life. I only was able to get about half way but going to work on it. I'm determined to do it. I know 74 lbs ago through I could hardly walk let alone run so I'm proud of my accomplishment. I think when I get a few more pounds off it will be easier.

I'm a little over 2 months out, down 74lbs. I feel great physically. The only thing is latley I've been experiencing quite a bit of vertigo when I get up too fast or as I'm bending over. Things will kind of spin for a second and Ill feel light headed. About 6 years ago I had lost 70 or so pounds and remember experiencing this often. I remember once I was on a trip with a class in college and as I was standing there in the middle of a lecture I almost passed out and everything went black. Scary feeling. I'm starting to feel like that again and I'm a little worried. Is it from the weight loss? Has anyone experiences this? Going to make an appointment with my doctor soon if it continues.

I didn't have it but was told I might need it (but I dropped 20 pounds on my own pre op so the surgeon felt my BMI I was low enough- since I was over 60 at my biggest) anyway it is usually placed through a vein in the neck and is a minimally invasive procedure. It basically looks like a little umbrella that is open in your vein and its purpose it to catch blood clots before it get to tour heart. When I was told I may need one the first thing I did was YouTube it and I advise against that. You'll only worry yourself like I did lol. After surgery it's usually removed before 60 days. It's less scary then it seems from what some have told me. Hope that helps

Vertigo?
Fallenangel2904 replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I got this again tonight very bad. I went to a workout class with my best friend. It was a high intensity workout (called boot camp lol) I had never been before and went to check it out with my friend. I knew it was going to be tough but it kicked my butt! Towards the end I felt extremely light headed again and everything was getting fuzzy and blurry and I saw black spots. I had to sit down and couldn't hear out of my right ear. I say, drank some Water and after a few minutes I was okay and returned to normal. It definitely has to do with my inner ear. I'm going to make an appointment with the doctor now because that was scary! Thanks for the replies all! -
Vertigo?
Fallenangel2904 replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you both. No I'm not on any meds for blood pressure. Pre op I did have some high blood pressure readings but it decreased after surgery. Haven't checked it recently. Going to try to be slower in my movements. And if it continues see my doctor. -
I've been to subway a few times post op. I agree about the salads. I got a chicken breast salad with sweet onion sauce and ate in it two times. I ordered a flat bread once from subway also and wasn't able to eat the actual flat bread much- took a few bites but picked the insides out mostly. I just wasn't in a salad mood that time and that worked out for me too. Again I ate on that several times. It's doable. Even if you wanted to eat the bread I doubt you would be able to have more then a half of a 6 inch.

Feelings on Eating Fast Food (McDonald's) 7 weeks Post Op
Fallenangel2904 replied to ljmasterdebater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's kind of a trial and error thing honestly. There are certain foods many people have problems with (bread, Pasta, rice- all things dense and carby) some have problems with eggs, chicken or pork, or greens such as lettuce as Cheri mentioned. You really learn these things on your own as you try new foods. As far as how you know, as unpleasant as it is you'll probably get sick from then whether that means throwing up, nausea, or an uncomfortable 'stuck' feeling you'll see many people talk about as well as 'sliming' where you may have a build up of saliva in your throat. These are all ways to tell a food may not agree with you. -

Okay my apologizes OP. I didn't see just how far this thread had gotten off course, only a few replies. I think in this instance it's fair to say 'hey guys lets keep things on track here.' My apologies! But Im still high tailing it out of here because I smell trouble a brewing lol -

Oh boy...why does everything on here turn into a fight lately? I understand wanting help OP and I think you got some great advise so far, but with due respect please chill out. Topics are going to veer off course from time to time (just look at the cheeseburger thread for proof lol) no need to be so short about it- it's not like no one was answering your question. It's the nature of having discussions. Anyway I'm out of here before the fur begins to fly... -
When can i eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwiich?
Fallenangel2904 replied to cyncitygirl's topic in Food and Nutrition
I was cleared for bread a month out. Was told to stick to wheat bread and toast it so it isn't so dense. I didn't try bread until about 2 months PO though. I am one of the few who really don't have an issue with bread. It does sit heavier then other foods but it is doable for me. Though I very rarely have it these days. I doubt you'll be able to eat a whole PB&J sandwich post op but maybe a half anyway. -
Feelings on Eating Fast Food (McDonald's) 7 weeks Post Op
Fallenangel2904 replied to ljmasterdebater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About 5 weeks out I was out Chistmas shopping with no food and stopped into Burger King and did just that. Grilled chicken snack wrap, tossed the wrap and just ate the chicken, cheese and lettuce. I was fine and it was filling. Don't recommend doing it on the regular but once in a while its fine. -
Protein oatmeal cookie

Oh and I used old fashioned oats but I think quick oats would be okay too. -
Protein oatmeal cookie
Fallenangel2904 replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in Vegetarian, vegan, raw foods
Sorry I didn't see the replies before! The serving size is 1 cookie. The texture isn't quite like a cookie, it's more soft on the inside. Not very sweet so add some sweetener if you want it sweet. This would be great with some peanutbutter added and chocolate Protein powder! Yumm! Gonna try to post the calorie info again -
Blood in stool anyone?
Fallenangel2904 replied to twinsmama05's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had this several weeks post op. I had horrible constipation. The worst of my life actually. So bad I was crying. And I see lots of bright red blood. It was definitely hemeroids. As said bright red blood is usually hemeroids. The straining will rupture them. I was so scared but it turned out okay but still keep an eye on it and maybe bring it up to your dr. -
I am the queen of wide calfs. Even wide calf boots aren't wide enough. My right calf (which strangely is slightly larger) was a whopping 23 inches at my biggest. I've lost 71lbs now and I'm already down 2 inches in my calves! So happy about this! Intact the only boots I have that had for me for a long time (from Torrid, with an elastic panel on them that I completely stretched out way beyond what I should have) those are really big on me now and fall down my leg! So you will definitely lose in your calf!

18 hours flight? Two week post op!
Fallenangel2904 replied to Talool's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had a 4 1/2 hour bus rise 2 weeks post op and I was alright. Pain wise I was fine. I would suggest getting up and going to the bathroom every few hours just to keep moving, but I think it's doable. At 2 weeks out 95 percent of my pain was gone, I still had a bit of soreness to the touch but that was it. I think you should be okay just take it easy! -

what is your favorite snack post op
Fallenangel2904 replied to newgrandmother's topic in Food and Nutrition
Beef jerkey and turkey jerkey- I eat that a lot. Deli ham or turkey rolls- with cheese. I do those a lot for a quick snack or even lunch. And diet hot cocoa with Torini SF syrup. You get protein from the milk and its YUMMY!
