Hey Bronx New York I Joined
Fallenangel2904 replied to Lilu's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They surprisingly approved me in one day! I was really scarred because my surgeons team really harped on how difficult they were to approve surgery but thankfully they approved me fast. Even the financial office was surprised! Good luck to you! Hope all goes well!! -
Increased water+protein= 11pound this week!
Fallenangel2904 replied to TamaraS's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
This is encouraging. I'm about 2 and a half months out and recently gained 3 pounds and its killing me! I've been great with eating and even exercise. I'm gonna step up the water and protein and hope that helps! Thank you!! -
Havnt lossed a pound in two wekks!
Fallenangel2904 replied to Egan317's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm right there with you. 2 and a half months out and I actually GAINED 3lbs and I don't know why. I was eating okay and I even had started exercise and the scale wouldn't move. I've finally lost 2 of those pounds so its moving in the right direction but won't be happy until I see a loss. Hang in there it's very frustrating but eventually we'll get past It. -

Who the heck gives surgery approval with out getting anesthesia approval? It's not like you can opt out on the anesthesia, they kind of go together lol! I really hope you get that sorted out soon! -
Size 30 Jeans! Maybe this doesn't sound good to you, but...
Fallenangel2904 replied to honeymunki's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congratulations!! I can relate. At my heaviest (over 380) I was pushing the size to the very end of what most plus stores carried. I was a 26/28 with some things very tight. It was frustrating to not be able to shop in even plus size stores that didn't go past a 24 and a lot of the trendy cute ones don't. I always said to myself when starting this journey that I would be SO grateful to just get back into regular plus sizes. Now I'm down 74lbs and a size 22 and its AWESOME!! I went into H&M recently (they now have a plus size line here in NYC which is awesome) and I tried on a 3X top and it was TOO BIG!! That has pretty much NEVER happened to me! I was too big for the last size in most stores like that just a short time ago and now a 3x was too big! It was a surreal feeling!! Anyway I can definitely relate to what your saying. Can't wait of you to get down to a 28!! -
Those look awesome! Great idea!!

My new BFF! The toaster oven!
Fallenangel2904 replied to JP69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I love my toaster oven! So much easier then using the whole oven for a tiny portion! -
Oh and eggface has some great Greek yogurt dipping sauce ideas. One that stands out in my mind was with cucumber Lemon Greek seasoning garlic powder. Use it as a dip for meat- lamb would be delicious with this I think!

I always use it on my chilli it tacos in place of sour cream (you can use low carb tortillas or lettuce cups for tacos)

Fallenangel2904 replied to canuckpaisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They told me 6 weeks but I went at about 2 and a half weeks. Shhh. I was visiting a friend and he had an indoor heated pool and I figured I wouldn't get many chances to swim in a pool in the Winter so I went for it haha. I just made sure my incisions were totally healed. You should be fine! -

Fainting Spells and seeing spots
Fallenangel2904 replied to sarahzamudio1091's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
YES!! This ha been happening to me a lot latley! So happy to read this thread and know I'm not alone! I almost passed out the other night at an exercise class. I had the whole black spots, everything got foggy and I couldn't hear out of one ear. I've also had a lot of dizziness and even when laying down last night I felt extremely dizzy until I fell asleep. I think I'm going to make an appointment to have myself checked out but if I get another bad spell I'm heading to the hospital. Very scary! -
help for a college student in texas
Fallenangel2904 replied to kisha28's topic in Insurance & Financing
If she has a low income has she looked into Medicaid? There are many hospitals that do bariatric surgery for Medicaid and medicaid subsidized patients. My surgeon who is in a hospital does (I am in NY but I'm sure there are hospitals in Texas that do as well) if she is a college student with no or low income she will qualify for it. Good luck! -
Shocked by other Patients Choices immediatly after surgery
Fallenangel2904 replied to zoekids's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I think it's less about judgment and more about being shocked someone would take those risks at that point. I haven't been the perfect patient either but I definite didn't do that DAYS after surgery. Though i was still in a lot of pain For the first week so food wasn't even really on my mind. That's a really risky chance to take less then a week after surgery that could potentially kill them. Say a prayer for them and walk away I guess. Not much else you can do. Your doing what you need to do and that's great! -
Hi all. I did a sleep study a few weeks ago and was told I have mild aleep apnea. The sleep tech even told me it wasn't bad at all. Im suppose to be getting my CPAP machine this week. So today I had an appointment for medical clearance for surgery and when I told the Dr. I had sleep apnea he made a point to stress to me that I must use the CPAP for at least 3-4 weeks before surgery. The problem is I HATED that machine! My sleep study with the CPAP was one of the single worst experience ever. I felt like I couldn't breath, it made me claustrophobic, and I almost had a panic attack with it on because it felt like I couldn't get the air out of my chest. It was awful. I'm just wondering for anyone else who has/had a CPAP- were you required to use it before surgery? What will happen if I don't? I'll give it another chance at home to see if maybe it was the environment I'm worried if I can't use it enough will it effect my breathing during surgery?

Thank you both! I know I didn't get enough Water yesterday so I'm drinking as much as I can today. Maybe I need to eat a little more? My net calories after I factor in work outs have been very low- like 200-300 calories. Maybe I should eat a little more today. Thanks for the replies! I tend to freak out at first. Good to know its not anything to worry over.
