I really wish I likes cottage cheese. It's one of the few foods I've alwys HATED. My ex used to eat it every night before bed and it used to make me sick lol. I've tasted it a few times recently and I admit it wasn't as awful as I remembered, but still not my fav- I think it's more a textural thin then anything. The curds weird me out but the actual taste I like. I put it in a blender once with some herbs and made a dip for veggies and it was DELISH so I'm convinced it's the texture. Maybe once I have surgery I'll change my mind on it lol

Faith Matters! Or Faith Matters?
Fallenangel2904 replied to LizTex2587's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I'm not a very religious person, so I guess that has a big part in not really bringing fairth into my decision making. I definitly respect others who have their beliefs especially in a journey like this, but it wasn't really something I put thought into. Although I'm not terribly religious, I am a big believer in things happening for a reason, and the universe giving you opportunities. So I just say If this ment to be a path in my life the universe will allow it to be. Just my perspective on things, but either way it's great to have faith in something in this journey be it in God, the universe or just the surgical team lol. Just my two cents. -
I have very curly hair too so I know what you mean. I straighten it a lot but when I wear it curly it gets really dry really fast. A few things that have worked for me, a product called WEN. If you've ever been up late and night and randomly came across one of those infomercials for it lol, I was very skeptical but my aunt recomended it to me and I tried it and it definitly restored a lot of moisture to my hair. I basically damaged the heck out of my hair by bleaching it for over a year which killed my curl and left my hair like STRAW. The WEN helped quite a bit, especially the leave in conditioner that comes with it, so check out their product line if you can. And something else that I LOVE LOVE LOVE and really can't live with out, especially when wearing my hair curly is a product called Ever Straight Brazilian Keratin Therapy from Organix. You can find it in the drug store in the hair care isle- its a little brown bottle and its SO good. It just makes my hair soft and silky. You use it right after the shower on towel dry hair and it just makes it SO soft and shiny. I think it might be intended for when your straightening your hair, but I used it even when I'm not because it makes my curls look awesome.

My Date Approaches And The Fear Is Starting To Set In ...
Fallenangel2904 replied to Strangefruit's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fear is normal. All the what ifs are normal part of the process. I can relate, I'm having surgery in a few weeks too and the fear is starting to creep in. But as JerseyGirl said as long as we follow the program and do what we are suppose to do we will be okay. Don't set yourself up for negative thoughts even before you have surgery. Good luck and it will all be okay! -
Are There Any Single Sleevers Out There..
Fallenangel2904 replied to kwyant1976's topic in Singles Forum
Hi all! I'm 23, I'll be sleeved in a few weeks. I'm single. I've dated a little bit as a big girl. I was with someone for a while and it ended over a year and a half ago and the break up has been really rough for me. To tell you the truth I think a part of me has settled and feels like maybe I won't be able to find anyone else which is why it's been so hard for me to move on. It's really touch to admit that, but it's importan to realize. I've always gravitated towards guys who preferred bigger girls so I didn't have to face rejection dating in a 'skinny girl world' my ex did- so it's going to be a real shocker to me to date in the normal dating world lol. Looking forward to getting out there truthfully! -
Do You Think I Will Look Ok?
Fallenangel2904 replied to spieldose's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I feel ya. I've never been thin, literally not since I was age 5 or 6. I was obese by age 7 and onward so I have a very hard time imagining what I'll look like thin- especially my face. But we will look like ourselves- only different versions of ourselves. Your beautiful now and will be beautiful after! -

My Teenage Daughter Is Jealous
Fallenangel2904 replied to jennrus's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That must be tough for both of you. I dont have any children but I know what it feels like to be obese at that age. It's terrible, and I'm sure she feels like having you there to understand her struggle was a comfort but now she is going to lose that. It's tough, I didn't have any obese family members growing up so I really feel no one was there to understand my struggle. I actually began looking into WLS when I was that age. I think it's important to just be there for her, talk to her about her feelings. Explain to her your decisions. Its going to take her a while, afterall teenagers are tough even with out this added issue. Explain to her that even though you had this done you still have to commit to a healthy lifestyle and maybe you can work on that together. I agree- try to exercise together and getting in the habit of doing healthy things together. Good luck and I wish you and her both lots of success! -
Good luck to everyone this month! I'll be sleeved the week of the 15th (I get my actual date on Oct 9th. Its been SO frustrating having to wait until this close to the day for it lol) The nerves are starting to set in lol

Cant Get Enough Protein Down…
Fallenangel2904 replied to Jenny881's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've heard people say they mixed the protein powder into their pudding maybe you could try that? Or buy some unflavored and add it into soups/broths -
I never thought of doing it. That's a great idea though! I have surgery in a few weeks so it's something I should start!

October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves
Fallenangel2904 replied to SkinnyMinnie2Be's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm getting kind of nervous now. I go in for my pre op Oct 9th and I've been told to expect surgery sometime the following week. I feel like mentally that's not a lot of time to wrap my head around things. Not having an official date yet makes it seem kind of uncertain. I'n worried I won't have enough time to process it in my head. I have to have surgery before the 24th because my medical clearance, which for some reason they had me do back in July expires Oct 24th so it's a bit of a rush job to get me in before then. I just wish I had longer to know my date and get used to things- though I'm NOT complaining...just having some jitters! -

Anyone Else In The 350+ Pre-Op Weight Range?
Fallenangel2904 replied to Chicago1962's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have surgery in a few weeks. My heigheat weight (known weight anyway- I'm SURE I was over 380 at some point) but my heighest known was 379. Now I'm 367- down 12lbs and hope to be down 5-10 more by surgery. So we'll see how things go! I'm very hopeful! -
Congrats! Im 23 andI'll be sleeved around the same time, I find out the exact date on my pre op appointment on October 9th but it will most likely be the week of the 15th from what they've told me. I'm excited but nerves are starting to set in. I think when I actually know the official date they'll be worse but luckily I won't have too much time to dwell on them lol.

Ladies Only Question...
Fallenangel2904 replied to ThinnerTiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a small C cup now, they're already not the prettiest pair, I've had sagging since I was 12 sadly and weight loose and gain over the years has left them even more saggy. When I had lost weight in the past (down to 270lbs) my boobs shrunk ALOT to a B cup...so when it's all said and done I fully expect to be an A cup lol. As weird as it is I'm hoping when they shrink it takes away from some of the sag. I'd rather have less saggy A cups then the saggy Cs I have now. But plastics are definitly in my future!! -
Pulmonary Wouldn't Clear Me- Upset!
Fallenangel2904 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I had my appointment with the pulmonary yesterday and she asked me some questions. I was honest and told her I hadn't been using my CPAP every night but I do use it most nights (my sleep apnea is very mild anyway- I only use 6 on pressure) She didn't think I've been using it enough so she wants to see me again in a month before she clears me for surgery. I'm so upset. I have an appointment with the surgeon Tuesday and I was suppose to get my date then- which would give me an October surgery date. Now I'm not sure that will happen. I'm trying not to be disappointed since this will only slow me down a few weeks to a month but I still am dissapointed when I've waited this long already. I known I need to make sure I use the CPAP every single night for the full 8 hours now- which I am. Has this happened to anyone else? -
Pulmonary Wouldn't Clear Me- Upset!
Fallenangel2904 replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks CO. I'm gonna see what happens Tuesday. I'm hoping they will still schedule me for a mid October Surery and all I'll have to do is get the final word from pulmonary in a month (October 12th) at least it was exactly a month- I was afraid it was going to be mid to late October or something. I still have hope- I'll see on Tuesday. Keep fingers crossed for me! -
Pulmonary Wouldn't Clear Me- Upset!
Fallenangel2904 replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They weren't very specific with instructions- it came from the sleep center and my doctor wasn't so much involved in the process of getting it, but I'm assuming it was to be used every night. I honestly have been using it- more then I thought I would be- but I guess it wasn't enough for them since it wasn't every single night. I know this is my own fault, I'm just disappointed. -
What Did You Guys Wear?
Fallenangel2904 replied to smb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about a comfy dress? Not sure what your job is and how strict they are on wardrobe. I live in sun dresses in the Summer- a nice cardi over it can dress on up a bit perhaps? -
Boca Burgers And Meal Starters
Fallenangel2904 replied to KinnymomX3's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I love boca burgers. I've been eating them for years. Ive used the ground meat substitute with Mexican seasoning in tacos. Post op I would just add the seasoning serve with out the taco shell of course, melt a little cheddar cheese and add some FF sour cream and yum! -
What Is Your New Favorite Drink?
Fallenangel2904 replied to shelly77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love MIO. It's not as asidic is crystal light tends to be and they even have a sweet tea flavor which surprisingly tastes a lot like mcDonalds sweet tea! It's great and a nice change from the fruity type drinks. -
