Stomach Dent And Bad Inscision Pain?
Fallenangel2904 replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all so much!! I was really scared there was something badly wrong with me for a minute! Last night I was able to get into my other side! I had to use a lot of pillows but I did it and managed to sleep. It's still uncomfortable but starting to get better. I took a nice shower last night and since then the area is a bit less tender to the touch. I'm gonna take another shower tonight and massage it thank you for the tip! It's getting better just taking time! And btw they only gave me Tylenol with codeine to take home. Is that normal? I heard of some people getting things like Percocet but I Definitely didn't. I'm ok with the Tylenol now but rlly could have used something stronger the first day home. -
Would You Get The Sleeve Again? If So, Why? If No, Why? Would You Change Anything?

That's exactly how I felt holly! Reading all the posts of people shopping after surgery, driving, going for walks, even going back to work- People who had no pain at all- wasn't really preparing myself to not heal like that. I woke with pain and was like 'what?' I think it's important to NOT compare yourself to others. Your right this journey- recovery, weight loss etc its such a personal thing. Comparing ourselves to other sets us up for disaster. So glad to hear your list of pros has gone up! I know I'll get there too eventually! -

It's too soon to tell honestly. I'm only 5 days post op. I had regrets the first two days. Now I don't but ill have to wait and see how worth it it is. I had a rough first few days ( though NO WHERE as hard as some others- iggy looking at you here. Your a trooper!) I still have pain and there is bad pulling in one of my incisions. i guess I read people's stories who were up and raring to go in a day, no pain no anything, did laps around the nurses station day one and I guess I kind of expected that. But didn't work that way. I couldn't even move the first day. Didn't really get up and walk until day 3 and still can't really walk around with out horrible abdominal pain. So it wasn't the light recovery I was expecting, but I DO feel it WILL be worth it for me. At my weight my quality of life was extremely poor anyway so this was a last reaort for sure. All I'm saying is don't expect the best outcome so you can be prepared. Expect problems this way you can prepare yourself fully. And if you DO have the easiest recovery then great! But you'll be prepared of anything if your not going into it expecting an easy time. -
Stomach Dent And Bad Inscision Pain?

I took a hot shower tonight- first shower since surgery. I think it helped the muscles feel a little better. Thank God we have a seat in the shower because there is no way I could have stood. Every day feels a bit better! -
Stomach Dent And Bad Inscision Pain?

Thank you guys so much for everything! Its still very sore, I'm going to look into getting one othe tummy bands but in the mean time I have some ace bandages in the closet gonna see if I can make myself something temporary. Thanks for the idea Twyla!! I swear if I had spanx right now I would be wearing them! Its like I can hear the angels sing when I lift my belly up lol the lack of pressure helps a lot! I'm glad to know the dent goes away and the pain subsides!! -
4 days post op and starting to feel a whole lot better! Except for this pulling incison/dent in the middle of my tummy. Other wise I'm doing great!
-
Just want to say thanks for these!! These are awesome! I can't wait until purées! I have over a week, hope it goes by soon!

I'm hungry too and im 4 days out. I wasn't at first. The nausea was very bad the first two days so I didn't have time to feel hunger. Now though its hitting me. I think it's going to be like that until we get to more solid food. Liquids run right through the sleeve so it's hard to tell. I started full liquids and noticed a little more fullness then on clears. I feel your pain hang in there with me!

Any November 14Th Sleevers?
Fallenangel2904 replied to veronica84's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I wasn't trying to like this stupid phone! Lol you can't see it in my pic but there is a big dent right above the middle incision. That's been giving me a lot of pain. The rest of them don't hurt. I was surprised at how clean they all looked. Hope yours get better soon! -
Open is not very common these days. The healing time is a lot longer and you are at greater risk of infection and other issues. I don't know the conversion rate but I don't think it's very high. I think the doctor who doesn't do open may be more old school and in need of advancing his or her techniques. Medicine is always changing and laparoscopic surgery is one of those things that has become the standard the last few years. When i was first looking into bariatric surgery in 2004 open was standard and this 'new technique' called laparoscopic was 'up and coming' but you couldn't find a surgeon who did that technique often. Even now laparoscopic is taking a backseat to the new 'spider method' -one single incision in the belly button. Medicine is always changing. But honestly there isn't really any reason for open to be done, it's just more pain and chance of complications.

That made me tear up. That is so amazingly sweet! What a wonderful man! -
Someone else posted this today. I can't wait to try it! I am currently loving the pumpkin pie shake. It tastes just like pumpkin pie! Yay I feel like I'm not missing out on thanksgiving lol

Trust me your fine. It's nearly impossible for sperm to swim that far let alone through material. Like I said was paranoid about the same thing years ago but researched it to death and realized it wasn't possible. Don't sweat it, you aren't pregnant!

Everywhere I Look....

I feel ya. I watched a McDonald's commercial today and had a minute of feeling sorry for myself. But this is what's best and it will pass. That's the beauty of VSG, I see people living normal lives after surgery. Eating normal foods just less of them. It's so reassuring to know I won't have to be retrained for ever. If I want to have a bit of stuffing next thanksgiving I can! Speaking of thanksgiving I can't wait until next year! It used to be one of my favorites because what fat chick doesn't love to stuff her face? Lol but I'm looking forward to next year so I can handle it like a normal person -
Wow your doctor advanced you fast. I wish I could have chilli I'm 4 days post up and I'm on full liquids until the 27th. Then I go for my 2 week check up and move to puréed. I am also hungry now. I chalk it up to the liquids not having any real body to them to fill me. I did have a thicker soup for dinner tonightA butternut squash with a dollop of FF Greek yogurt. Yummy and filled me a lot more then the broth and jello has been! I hope when I get to puréed I'm not hungry still. Like others though I've heard it takes a little while for us to get to a feeling of full.

Thanks for this! I didn't even think of a belly band! Wonder where I can find one made for big people lol ill def look into that! I tried to do that With the pillows last night, some how I got them in just the right way that I was able to turn to my side and fall asleep. I still felt a bit of a tug though. I think putting them under my belly would be a great idea! Thank you! Going to be trial and error. I am feeling a bit better today I think I was just so exhausted last night I was a little erratic. -
Pumpkin Pie! Yum!
Fallenangel2904 replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yum thanks! Ill def try that! And I adapted the recipe when I saw we had pumpkin creamer but I know the basic one is pumpkin pie spice. Same idea. It made me feel all thanksgiving like lol. Like I'm not to much missing out on the season. Gonna experiment and see what I come up with! -
Hey ladies I could use the support also. I was sleeeved on the 14th. Rough couple of days to start with but I'm finally feeling somewhat human again. I had horrible nausea and pain the first two days. Now I'm home and my incision pain is still pretty bad, lots of pulling and feels like I got stabbed. But I'm able to have full liquids now. Just having first protein shake and I feel more normal today. Also was able to finally find a comfy position and sleep a full night last night! It's getting easier day by day. Would love the support of some people who are going through the same stuff!

Good luck! How far post op are you? Please report back and let me know how it goes! I want to know how many months I should wait to try it lol
-
No you'll be fine. That happened to me years ago with my ex when we were first together and I was paranoid also but it was nothing. The chances are nearly impossible. You'll be fine.

Stomach Contracting?
Fallenangel2904 replied to Nicolanz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup that's exactly where it is. I took some gas x chews last night for the first time and have finally been able to fart and its relief when I do! So I think that is the pain also. Still I'm gonna get an acid reducer just to have.
