  1. are you diabetic ? if not go get tested asap!!! having high blood sugars when your food intake is reduced is very odd.
  2. iI agree with the post above me! if you are doing what you say you are doing perhaps you have lost some inches on your measurements. the only thing i can suggest to you is talk to your surgeon, perhaps an adjustment is in order, also talk to a nutritionist, there is always a possibilty you are eating something you think is good for you but its not as good as you thought. best of luck and congrats on your current weight loss
  3. i am at 3 ccs right now, i know i am not at my greenzone yet as i do not feel much restriction, how many ccs did you need before you found your greenzone?
  4. i made an apt with a nutritionist for this month i really hope it goes well and i find out some things i may be doing are wrong, crossing my fingers!!
  5. hello i had my surgery on july first of 2012, i have 3 cc's in my band and i do notice it when i swallow food and sometimes if im not carefull it will hurt or get stuck..but i dont feel any restriction at all when it comes to feeling full.. i have not lost a single pound, in fact i went up 4 pounds this month even tho thanksgiving may have been a contributer there . i do an hour of walking/light jogging everyday on my treadmill i also use my fitness pal and rarely go over my recommended daily calorie intake...im starting to get very emotional and discouraged about it, im worried i have damaged my body with this band for nothing.. any advice here would be so helpfull, im sad
  6. i didint think watermelon contained much natural sugar..some but not much..i do not have any issues with watermelon as long as i chew it, i find it doesent take much chewing due to the texture..sorry to hear about your watermelon malfunction, that sux watermelon is sooo good.
  7. yup through your IV. anesthesia is a wonderful feeling in my opinion lol

    Slipped Band

i would not worry to much,,i am the same as you..i am 25 days post up and hungry as anything..i could probably eat a normal amount if i was allowed..apparently like said above me, its beacuse i have not had a fill and my swelling is gone however i stick to the normal eating directions and you should too so you heal properly. so unlikely your band has slipped..but dont overeat as you want to prevent that..and try to stick to healthy options instead of "everything" our bands are just a tool, we still have to work hard at changing our bad habits into good ones goodluck with your journey
  9. hi everyone i am 11 days post op and i was just curious as to what other pple in the mushy food stage are eating, anybody have any creative recipes of different things to try ?

    Hello

Hi JJ i was banded 06/01/12 so im 5 days in, i am also 25 and am so glad i did this now instead of when i am older, hopefully the rest of our 20's will be good and healthy!! im starting at 260lbs
  11. Hello!! First off i should start off with saying i am a type 1 Diabetic (since 5 years old) and i hope my band will help me have better control with my health as well as weight! i got my band 5 days ago (june1,2012) so am still new but these forums have helped me with so much since i started reading them!! biggest issue was i seemed to have lots of gas..yuk i know lol but i didint freak out it's normal according to all of you! lol yaaaaaay!! anyways i live in victoria british columbia and Dr Bradley Amson performed my surgery, he was wonderfull by the way, so nice and when it came time to go into the ER he made the entire experience VERY comfortable and not bad in the least anyways i look forward with talking to many of you through your journeys as well as sharing my own the good and the bad so far i am just talking it easy trying to go for walks here and there. the only discomfort i have is the pain from my incisions, i am hungry as the swelling is going down but am following instructions non the less, i have lost a few pounds already in the last few days and hope for many more pounds to dissapear in the time ahead of me as well as a clean bill of health!! thanks! Lindsay
  12. hello i am 5 days post op, my instructions are fluid and very soft foods only and a 1/4 - 1/2 cup portion size. i have been very strict on following instructions but i will admit im really really hungry, i feel very little restriction and being on a soft/fluid diet is bumming me out however i will follow my instructions of course, just curious if being hungry this soon after surgery is normal ? i have read how so many of you want to continue your full fluid diet past day 7 and im the complete opposite
