Thank you ladies -
My little man was born April.26th @ 11:11am. 7lbs 9 oz 19.5. Inches. 6 days late! I had a great pregnancy and a wonderful vaginal delivery. Doctors went on and on how I would need a csection and everything went wonderfully all on its own. My band was empty due to an illness a month prior to finding out I was pregnant. The last month I was very thankful it was empty because I was so swollen i started to get a lot of restriction. Other then my port sticking out super far there was nothing band related to complain about! Hope everyone is doing well on thier band journey. I am already down 32 lbs since.delivery hoping to keep on that path

Congrats she is such a pretty little girl!

I had an empty band when I got pregnant due to a prior illness situation. But I will say this I am 30 weeks right now and with a totally empty band I'm getting stuck and even vomitting after just a few bites because I'm so swollen. So if you keep your fills be cautious as the weeks go on! Its really up to your doc I guess if the ob wants it.out and you refuse they may opt not to see you. But my band doc always says if your getting all your calories in there is really no need to fully unfill you.

I am 30 weeks with an empty band and for the past week I have gotten stuck on everything and the past few days I've puked a few things up. I know its due to swelling but it makes me nervous to think how bad it may be come 5-8 weeks from now knowing there is no fluid to be removed!!Hope your feeling better

Anybody elses port suddenly become very noticable? I dont really look pregnant because I weigh 315 lbs but this past week My port has really come to the surface! I started at 429 and ive never been able to even feel My port unless I laid down and felt around for it. Now its noticeable and kinda freaks me out :S -
Sounds like you have an irritated esophagus. I had that problem last summer. I had to get my band emptied but if yours is already empty I'm not sure what they would be able to do. Have you told your ob you can't even keep water down? You would think they would be concerned since they prefer you to get all your essential nutrients in everyday.

I like to use half a piece of whole wheat pita. Just the half makes two meals for me. It's a very good multi grain and easier for me to digest then bread. You can top it any way you like. I like to use a little grilled chicken, peppers, onions, and low fat mozzerella cheese. I'm not much of a marinara fan though so I use a teaspoon of BBQ sauce or just a teaspoon oil and parmeson cheese in its place.

Congrats on the beginning of your journey! I spent my first week drinking Breakfast carnations, Water, diet v8, and sugar free popcicles. Truly I was not even hungry. the liquids kept me satisfied I assume because there was still swelling going on during the healing. I do suggest some other form of Protein drink then the breakfast carnations.my doc suggested them but I later found out that there are many many more options with less sugar in them. -
anybody else worried about weight gain?
Krussell19 replied to Angela from nz's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
It is truly the hardest thing for me right now. I am having a big struggle with myself. I am 23 weeks and I've gained 11 lbs which is exactly where my doc says I should be but right before I became pregnant I had just lost 60+ lbs. So its hard to be moving back up the scale now. Because all the weight is in my stomach i look like I've gained way more then that. I went to buy new work pants last night and was so upset with how I looked in the mirror I just left the store I know once my baby boy is here I can lose it but the mental struggle of excepting that I'm gaining and the wonderful pregnancy hormones that make me burst into tears at the drop of a hat makes it seem far worse then it is. -
2.95 for over a week in Missouri! Super impressed figured with holiday travels upon us they would have went crazy with it.

I believe diffrent types of feedback are necessary it allows the original poster to decide what they may or may not want to try to help themselves along their journey. Also must remember these are just our opinions and experiances and should always still check in with their doc before changing something dramatically since we are not doctors just people who have "been there" so to speak. The one thing I have noticed that is upsetting to me though is when someone posts something such as " help I messed up. I ate to many calories today or I splurged and ate ice cream and not my Protein or I had alcohol and way to much" instead of getting an its ok we've been there or you can bounce back! You have the ones who instantly start with why did you even get a band if you were going to stick to your old life and so on as If they have never once made a mistake with their band. Believe me I have made quite a few and I'm sure ill make many more along the way the band made my portion ability smaller it did not reset my brain or change my tastes buds so ofcourse I'm going to flub up now and again. I think thats where the original poster was going with it. That some people instantly lash out because they have been successful instead of trying to be supportive.

Should I worry about weight loss now?
Krussell19 replied to msblack's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Right now you Need to worry about healing properly. Your Body is going to take a few weeks to adjust to these changes and you may even gain a few pounds. It's totally okay your body needs to flush out all the junk from surgery and get used to the new you. Just stay on the diet plan advised by your doc and it will all start to fall into place. Best of luck to you and congrats
