This is a loaded question..... I've had some pretty bad ankle pain over the past few months and its stopped me from exercising regularly. I had an MRI last week and I found out that I have tenosynovitis. Im pretty sure that ill have to get a boot on my foot. yay...... :/. Does anyone have any suggestions of good cardio workouts that can be done without putting much weight on my foot? I have defiantly notices that since I hurt my foot, that my weight loss has slowed.

HELP Stall i cannot get out of!
Magsnlucy replied to Mommy sleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at an awful stall too. I think I've fallen off the wagon a bit myself. Crazy to even think that I am 10 months out. I had rapid weight loss in the first few months. I'm about 105 down right now, and still some to go. I haven't lost much since about January though. Have you tried myfitnesspal? I found that really helpful and I'm going to start using that again. Whoever said GSV was going the easy way out is DEAD WRONG! Lol. Good luck! -
Take you time! Everyone is different don't worry. I'm about to be 6months out, and to be honest, soups and soft foods are still a go to comfortable food to eat. And because its mostly liquid, it seems like your eating more lol! Seriously though, don't rush yourself. When I look back on it, it seemed like such a rush to eat normal foods, when really, it isn't! Don't push yourself, take your time and the results will come.

How Long To Take Off Work?
Magsnlucy replied to michelleooo513's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Outpatient!? That seems rather.... unsafe! They should be monitoring you, and have IV painkillers. They should be in and out of your room all night changing your IV fluids and taking your vitals. I don't think I would want to go to a hospital where it is only an outpatient procedure. Anyway, in terms of work, I work in a hospital as a phlebotomist so I took 4 weeks or so. Like people have said, alot of it depends on your job. If you have a desk job you may find it easier to go back after two weeks because you are not doing a lot of standing, walking or lifting. But because my job is all about the standing, walking and lifting I took the month. Plus you need to remember that you will still have open wounds. Working in a hospital with open wounds can be dangerous because of the increase risk of infection. Good luck! -
Checking On May Sleevers! Whats Your Progress?
Magsnlucy replied to 803Misty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
May 29th. Almost at the 4 month mark!!! My highest weight was 355. My surgery weight was 325. And today I think I'm 274!! Haven't been home from school in two weeks so I'll weigh myself soon!! Down 81! -
It is actually normal to feel hungry right after surgery. You still have the hunger hormone all over your body, and unfortunately, it takes a few weeks for the hormone to run out. Give it some time. It will pass.

Once you get out of surgery, will be bacisly just drinking. ALOT OF LIQUIDSSSS!! but heres the thing.... thats all your going to want to do. when i first got out of surgery, I didnt drink anything until one or two days after. I couldnt. My MD wouldnt allow it. Not even ice chips. Just a wet sponge for the lip. BUT youre going to be so tired and out of it that you wont want anything. And youll be on IV fluids so you dont need it. After the next few days they gave me medicine cup with protein water in them. It took me about 10 to 20 minutes to finish just one oz cup. i couldnt do any more and i didnt want it. you wont be hungry and wont want food. Im 4 months out now and can eat about 1/4 to a 1/2 a cup of food at a time. 60 down since surgery 80 total.

Just A Few Questions! :)
Magsnlucy replied to Magsnlucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have myfitnesspal. I do love it. It really helps. And ur right, obviously if I'm loosing the weight then what I'm doing and the level I'm currently at is correct. Thanks for your help. Btw: I haven't had headaches, but try increasing your fluids. Headaches can be a sign of dehydration. There are different levels of dehydration, and it's not just thirst. It's different for everyone. -
What R U Eating 11 Day Postop?
Magsnlucy replied to pattivalvo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello friends!! I don't want to be a Debbie downer, but stick to your liquids for now!! Trust me I know it's a pain but it will get easier. Have broth it's the best. I still love it being 2amd a half months out. Liquids are the bessstttt option right now. You do not want to go to fast into eating something you shouldn't and get sick. Trust me it's no fun. -
Just A Few Questions! :)
Magsnlucy replied to Magsnlucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry sent it too soon. Stupid phone! Lol ok so my story is... I am about 2 and a half months out of surgery. Lost about 45 pounds and I feel awesome!!! But I seem to be going through a mental phase right now. I seem to be CONSTANTLY second guessing myself in terms of what I eat. I am pretty much back to a normal diet. I avoid fried foods and sodas and they don't really feel great in my belly so if doesn't bother me that I dont eat them lol. However, lately I seem to always tell myself I'm eating too much. When in reality I know I'm not. I sometimes think I actually eat too little, but my subconscious thinks I overeat. Does anyone else have this feeling. I guess it just takes time to have your head adjust. Also one more question. Lately I feel like I a little bit hungry. Im taking an acid reducer so that's not it, and it's not huge hunger pains, but I do feel it and my tummy grumbles a little. Usually I drink something and it goes right away. Thoughts? -
When Do The Incisions Heal?
Magsnlucy replied to Futureskinnyperson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'll be two months out on Sunday. My last one has finally begun to close. I know how you feel. EVERYTIME I thought it was scanning over, I would get in the shower and when I got out and the scan was gone. I had to start the healing process over again. As weird as it sounds, this is just your bodies way of healing. Let it do what it does naturally. An this might be weird too, but try swimming in a chlorine filled pool. For me it boosted the process and sort of dried the wound up! Lol -
It started this morning. It feels like a stabbing pain right around my diaphragm. It's hurts really badly for a few seconds, then subsides then returns and does it again. It's doesn't burn but feels like a stabbing pain. Ouch help please! Anyone have the same issue?

Sharp Upper Stomach Pain
Magsnlucy replied to Magsnlucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not trouble breathing but it's hurts a little when I breath in deep. I've caught myself a few times hollering because it hurts so much. And I hate complaining! Lol. I've actually had a pretty good recovery so it's making me nervous -
Sharp Upper Stomach Pain
Magsnlucy replied to Magsnlucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you for responding btw. It hurts both when I drink and when not so I haven't been able to trigger it to one or the other. It stinks because I haven't been able to eat or had enough to drink today because of it -
Sharp Upper Stomach Pain
Magsnlucy replied to Magsnlucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A month from yesterday. There's no incision near by its all internal. It's drivin me crazy and it hasn't really let up all day -
I'll be a month out of surgery on Tuesday. And I was wondering is it possible to drink a little alcohol? I turned 21 about 6 months ago, and HONESTLY, I'm not a big drinker to begin with, truly. I would just like to sip on a frozen drink throughout the night of the 4th. What do you think?

One Month Out Tomorrow And My Incisions Still Kinda Hurt... :(
Magsnlucy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not all of them, but my biggest one right above my belly button. It's a little red around the edges but I can tell its not infected. DISCLAMER*** I have had stuff oozing out of it for about a week but a friend of mine who is an NP said its called a seroma and it should be fine. What's worse of all is the irritation a have from the bandages!! Omg so red and irritated I almost can't have my much looser shirts (lol) rub up against them. I have read stuff about people having pain for a few weeks but a month!? I don't need my pain meds, it's not that bad but it still hurts. Help!! -
Think about it. Would these surgeries have EVER been approved if we could stretch out our stomachs by drinking a little too much, or over eating by accident or drinking a little bit of soda. No, of course not. And especially now, so soon out of surgery you can't possibly take in that much. I'm only a month out myself but I'll tell you, that it does get easier. I'll tell you, this was truly the LONGEST month of my lliiffeeeeeee! It's does get easier. Don't be afraid or liquids right now. They are the only things you can have, so be friends with them!! They will be your life saver, literally. Hang in there.

We have a heat wave going on over here in Boston and I think I got a pretty bad case of heat exhaustion yesterday. I'm just over 3 weeks out and it was a really sick feeling I had. I was SUPER tired. More tired than I had ever felt. (besides waking up post op lol). And I felt like I had no strength. I was walking back to my house with my iPad and a drink and nearly dropped them both because they were to heavy. I slept last night from about 7:00 pm to about 10:00 this morning... CRAZY!! Lol. Has this Happened to anyone?
