  1. But oh so funny. I was walking down the main street of town yesterday lunchtime on my way back to the office and suddenly started to feel awkward. I thought my skirt had twisted but as I reached down I grabbed it just before it fell past my knees. One second more it would have been around my ankles! A ducked into a shop where the salesperson helped me out with a safety pin and a lot of laughter! Sent from my iPad using VST

Great timing, I pulled on a pair this morning and got a shock when they almost went up to my armpits! I stood in front of the mirror laughing. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Stomach Acid?

I am taking 20mg of omeprazole morning and night. I keep antacids in my purse just in case! Prior to surgery I was on 20mg omeprazole daily. So I doubled post surgery. By prescription though. I wouldn't take meds not prescribed. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Fainting?!?!?

I have not fainted but come close a few times. I spoke to my specialist who said that it was most likely dehydration and to up my fluids and ensure I stay hydrated. If not hydration, then likely to be blood sugar related so to up my complex carb intake. I have listened to my body since and know that for me, it is related to hydration. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Straws?

I use a straw like that. I would never get all my fluids if I didn't. My surgeon said it is fine as long as I apply common sense and don't suck air. So I remember that and it has been a godsend. Sent from my iPad using VST

  10. I am just so glad that I had this operation. I have not felt this happy for years. I find myself just sitting here smiling. I wake up smiling. I get dressed smiling. I drive to work singing my heart out, happy as a pig in muck. I am usually a happy person, but this happiness, this absolute joy? This is new. I am just so, so grateful that I had this opportunity to transform my life and improve my health. Despite the heartburn, the constipation, the pain of a pulled stitch and the full time job that is keeping hydrated. I am just so damn happy! Had to share with all of you as I am driving my family crazy :-) Sent from my iPad using VST
  11. This question seems a bit stupid, and I think I know the answer, however I am not sure so need to check. In counting my fluids each day, is it just Water I count or can I include cups of tea, broth etc?
  12. I have pain in the same place. I went back to the surgeon and she explained it is where some serious stiching of muscle is internally and it appears I have pulled a stitch. All I can do now is rest and continue on pain meds until it heals. I had been overdoing it because I felt so good. Lesson learnt. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Nightline "weigh Less Drink More"

Interesting. I was out with a friend who is 9 months out from surgery. She was drinking shot after shot, plus gin and tonics, then shared a bottle of red wine. We shared a cab and I swear she was sober! I was astounded. I asked the next day whether she could drink like that before surgery and she couldn't. Since the surgery she can drink like nobodies business. She doesn't do it too often but says it is easy to maintain a mild buzz and not get drunk or hungover drinking volumes that would have previously flattened her. She is still losing weight.
