I have gone from a 22EE to a 16DD. I love them right now, in a bra. Out of the bra, I am not too sure! I have bought good quality bras for the transition. I decided the cost was justified given how much a good bra can impact on how I feel when I wear clothes and look in the mirror.

Most of the time, I see people talking about their own plan and their own choices. Not people telling others what is and isn't allowed. Sure, there is a bit of that, but not much. I read most posts as being people responding about their own plan rather than spouting off about THE plan. There is a difference. Have a milkshake if you want. It isn't for me, not only do I avoid sugar but I am now lactose intolerant. But if you want to try it, try it. See how your body reacts. See how the scales react.. Listen to your body and make the right decisions for you. Understand that others will question the sense in you taking such a high sugar and high saturated fat option but do so because you actually believe it is the right choice for you, not because you are fooling yourself that it is a healthy choice. Because a traditional milkshake will never be a healthy choice. There is no judgement in this. I am just saying it like it is.

Ok I Hear All Kinds Of Stuff About Constipation But What About The Opposite?
LouiseC replied to Scully68's topic in The Gals' Room
I am lactose intolerant post surgery. I understand that in time I will be able to reintroduce lactose to my diet. I am getting used to it, and as I tend towards a paleo type diet and study my own bodies relationship with foods, I realise more and more that mammals are not designed to drink milk past infancy.....(but that is just me and my own weird ways) -
Look At Those Pelvic Bones Sticking Up!

Wow! Amazing! Thank you for sharing this. -
I am 13 weeks out. For the most part, my journey has gone really well and I am loving my sleeve. Over the past couple of weeks I have started having issues with dinner. I call it dinner because I eat it at dinner time but really the food is no different than I would have at any other time of day. So I know this isn't a food issue. But what I am finding is that I am losing my dinner more often than not. I eat, then within a few minutes I start getting nausea and before I know it I am surrendering my dinner to the great porcelain bowl in the bathroom. I have been trying to work out what I am doing different at dinner time than any other time of day and I am drawing a blank. Any ideas, suggestions or similar experiences?

About How Long Do I Have To Make The Most Of It?
LouiseC replied to Raven21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is less about how much you can eat and more about what you choose to eat. As others have said, this is a tool, what is needed is you to make the right choices in using this tool. Think about, early on you could purée up a mars bar with a double scoop of Ben and Jerrys and drink that down for Breakfast. The volume would be the same as a Protein drink with a blended cup of berries but the utritional value is vastly different. So try not to think volume, instead think about the value of what you put in your mouth. There is less room, and that won't change greatly, so you want to make sure what you put in that reduced space is the best it can be. -

What Types Of Food Are People Craving After All Healed
LouiseC replied to marie bella1968's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am a make my own kind of gal. Plus, I live in New Zealand and we don't have those brands here :-) though it must be so easy to be able to just open a can! I tend to make a big batch and freeze half cup portions, they are a real go to for me and make up my work lunch most days. I have always enjoyed chilli but post sleeve it seems to be my new favourite! -

Have You Sold Clothes Online?
LouiseC replied to keldolbeth's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Last week I sold 10 items and made $230. It felt great this weekend to go and buy a new pair of jeans and three new tops. I only spent $86 as I went to an outlet store and of course now that I can buy from regular stores clothes are so much cheaper than my usual places. Prices like that it won't bother me if I only wear them for a couple of months! -
Have You Sold Clothes Online?
LouiseC replied to keldolbeth's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been selling my clothes on the NZ equivalent of eBay. It always works for me and I feel better about buying new things when I know I have made money on old things. I only sell good quality items, and given that they are plus sizes I try and include measurements of items I am selling as often sizes are meaningless. I tell people that I am selling because I have lost weight and usually say when I bought the item and the brand. -
There is nothing wrong with potato. It is a good whole food. But when they take it, break it down, dehydrate it, powder it and then reconstitute it with chemicals into a stylised 'perfect' format of someone's ideal potato chip they have gone a step too far IMHO. Think about this when you are craving Pringles. What you are in fact craving is chemicals. And the human body shouldn't crave chemicals, it is something you want to beat for your own health.

What Types Of Food Are People Craving After All Healed
LouiseC replied to marie bella1968's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Chilli. I don't know whether it is a craving as I don't think about it until someone asks me what I want for lunch or dinner and I just find myself saying "chilli". -

I have tried it but find it really sweet. I don't know why that is.

I live in a country where tipping is not the norm. Our waitstaff have to be paid minimum wage($13.50) per hour so service is part of what we pay for when we pay the price of the meal. It certainly makes situations like this much simpler! I think that you should have been advised that there was a split meal charge. Here, that would need to be listed on the menu, like corkage is. Also, they should have given you an additional plate. Both of these were the responsibility of your wait staff. And they did neither. Therefore I don't see that they "earned" the tip. I would not go back. That is generally how my husband and I respond to poor service.

Wonderful! Congratulations, you looking smoking hot! -
I puréed soups. Other than that I went for shakes and yoghurt etc. I just couldn't bring myself to purée meat or eat baby food!

I want to slap your mother. Sorry, but that was just such a horrid thing to say to you. I am sorry you don't have the support from your family. I hope you can find support here and, more importantly, I hope you can look in that mirror everyday and tell yourself how freaking fabulous you look and how wonderful you are doing.

Protein Issues (Lactose Intollerant)
LouiseC replied to nikmak05's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I am having soy protein blended with lactose free milk and a handful of frozen mixed berries. The berries help the flavour considerably.
