What Do You Know About Ketosis?
LouiseC replied to SleeveandRNYchica's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it is most likely ketones. And it is a wonderful, wonderful thing! That rank taste is your body burning your stored fat. Find joy in the nastiness :-D I know this is frustrating but it gets better, I promise. Just remind yourself when you notice this, and foul smelling urine, that your body is working with you for once and doing what you want and need it to do. It is burning that fat! Congratulations! I <3 ketosis! -
I am from New Zealand and YOU ALL talk funny! Or should that be 'y'all' talk funny?

Woman With Extra Hair On Face
LouiseC replied to Luvbug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been going to a new waxing/ threading place and having new stuff used rather than struggling to do it myself so I have noticed a reduction but had not connected it to my weight loss and had thought it was the result of a new beauty technician. You have got me thinking that maybe it is from the weight loss! Yay! -

My fitness pal -
Oooooh I am with you on this. I usually bite my tongue though the urge to correct is strong. One of my own pet peeves is apostrophe abuse. I passed a store the other day advertising that they were selling "banana's" for 99 cents a kilo. They had similar sales on "apple's" and "cabbage's".

How wonderful. Congratulations on the new you :-)

It is a very weird reaction. I have had a couple of people tell me I should stop now and not lose too much more weight. It is crazy to hear as I am still obese, with a BMI of 33 and about 45 pounds from goal. I have looked at these people with an extreme WTF expression and really not known how to take it. I have each time decided they were trying to be nice and say I looked good. This feels much better than thinking they were trying to hurt or sabotage me in some way. So take it as a compliment and move on. The best thing about this approach is you spend no time in angst over their comments AND if they did mean to be nasty then they have failed because you didn't react :-)

Same as wolf girl here. I enjoy an occasional wine but make sure I increase my water intake to compensate. I do not believe I could drive after one. It does hit pretty fast.

I laughed reading your dream! I have dreams like this frequently. Weird food related dreams which leave me feeling annoyed when I wake up. So I really appreciated your dream! I dreamt I couldn't get into McDonald's because I couldn't find the door, my family were inside and I was wandering around and around looking for the way in. Weird thing here is I can't stand McDonald's and haven't eaten there in years! I am sure these dreams are part of our psyche trying to make sense of the drastic changes we have made.

Professional Pics Of Me At Goal! A Present To Myself!
LouiseC replied to Forensikchic's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Beautiful. Congratulations. -
I am not single but I have noticed a difference in how men I do not know react. I think this has more to do with my confidence and how I am carrying myself now than my weight. I actually asked a few male friends Nd they confirmed confidence struck them more than weight. Interesting.

Very funny! You look fantastic.

I don't think I miss anything. Not yet anyway. I had a moment last weekend when the hubby made himself a grilled cheese sandwich and I thought I wanted that yet when he offered me a bite I suddenly didn't want it any more. Odd. It has been like this with a few things. I used to be a chocoholic but now have almost zero interest in the stuff. My sweet tooth has gone to the point where even some vegetables are too sweet for me. I see stuff I think I want but then I realise that I don't want it at all, to the point where I have to look away or feel ill. This has happened with pizza, Pasta and savouries as well as sweets. My relationship with food is really odd right now and I am still finding my limits and my new tastes. The stuff I really want now is all stuff I can have, like my post op obsession with chilli. And my weird obsession with ovaltine light break. I am easily pleased these days! I consider myself lucky that I am not craving anything bad, but also find it all a bit odd at times, and, believe it or not, sometimes a bit frightening. I guess I need to do some work on redefining food as fuel as a previous poster wrote about. That may help my perspective.

Kangaroo, emu, crocodile and snake - all things I have eaten and even enjoyed when visiting Australia!

What looks? Who said anything about giving anyone any looks? Massive assumptions being made here. Seriously, people way over react in this place. You somehow interpreted my post as though I sit and stare at people eating. Of course I don't. I look away, just like you do. it doesn't mean I don't see and doesn't mean I don't have a physical reaction to what I see. I eat out a lot and travel every week for work so I am frequently in restaurants and other places where people are eating. It is impossible not to see others eat. But for goodness sake, it doesn't mean I sit and stare at them. How ridiculous..

Am curious if others care about where their food comes from. I have been a foodie for many years, it is partly why I got as big as I did. I love food and cooking and usually makes things from scratch. I have always cared about the quality of my food but find that now more than ever I am determined to not waste space in my sleeve with poor quality products. Do others find this? I am only eating free range (proper outdoor free range not the nonsense pseudo free range) for all eggs, poultry and pork products. I eat mainly grass feed beef, lamb and venison. I do not knowlingly eat any farmed fish. I ensure vegetables and fruits are organic, spray and GE free. I ensure I eat a multi coloured assortment of veges to get as many anti oxidants as I can. I have become almost as focused on monounsaturated fatty acids as I a with Protein. I make sure I have a decent amount of healthy fat each day. Other than my Protein powder and (my indulgence) ovaltine light break, I no longer eat anything overly processed. Canned tomatoes and Beans seem to be the next closest thing. I make my own Greek yoghurt. Anyway, I am quite amazed when I realise just how healthy my diet actually is. My trips to the supermarket involve walking around the outside more than up and down the aisles as that's where the food I buy now seems to be! I have noticed my skin and hair seem better than they have in years. I sleep well. I am sure these are in part due to the food choices I am making. Curious if anyone else is following this sort of diet?

And again I say, though this time for the last time as otherwise I will think I am talking to a wall, disgust is a feeling. It isn't a judgement. A judgement is an opinion. Feelings and opinions are different things. My feelings are not wrong they just are what they are.

https://godshalls.com/store/item.aspx?itemid=362 chicken bacon for the USA market. Looks a bit different to what we have here (http://www.tegel.co.nz/products/Chilled-ready-to-eat/Original-Manuka-Smoked-Chicken-Bacon-200g?c=3&p=154) but must be the same sort of thing. And I found you some roasted chick peas too http://nuts.com/snacks/chickpeas/golden.html :-)
