    Wheres My June Bandsters??

Now that I'm back at work, I miss my naps.

    Time Off?

I have been back at work 2 days now. My surgery was 6/19. I have had no trouble whatsoever. I am an Administrative Assistant so I really don't have an intensive job...it gets hectic, but nothing too strenuous. Now...would I like to be home with my hubby? You betcha!
  3. Patch, what kind of Greek yogurt are you eating? I bought the Chobani because it was the highest in protein, but it is not my favorite.
  4. I have to say, I was banded June 19th and I didn't really have bad gas pains....of course I walked like a maniac. Only took pain meds for 3 days and on Friday, went to the movies with my neice. I can feel where my port is, but it's not painful. My incisions are itchy. My biggest problem is I am not getting all my Protein. I have tried and tried. I can't get through a shake, I add cottage cheese to all my Soups...but I get full before I get it all in. I will get it figured out, and I have some extra protein Clear liquids left from the first 2 days, so I am sipping that throughout the day. I do miss chewing, but this too shall pass. I have to make adjustments to my life if this is going to work, and that is just one of the things that must be adjusted. It's not a permanent thing. On day 15 I get to transition to soft foods (mushies). I'm so excited. I never, ever thought I'd be excited about tuna! LOL I am back at work today (on light duty for 3 more weeks). Hang in there Mom....it will get better.
  5. Renaissance Day begins now. I'm heading to the shower and will go to the hospital for 10am. See y'all on the other side. Good Luck to l the other bandsters having surgery today.

    Time Off?

My surgery is tomorrow, and I'm taking the rest of the week off. Have to fo FMLA leave for more than 3 days off. UGH, but I too sit at a desk all day. I'm hoping to be good to go on Monday. Did anybody have trouble driving?

Hope everyone's proceedures went well today. I'm so ready for tomorrow to get here. Treehouse, I'm curious to know if you found out anything today from your mix-up. Nutritionist

I love cauliflower mashies! I'm excited to eat them when I get to my Mushies stage. I met with my nutritionist on Monday as part of my pre-op visit. She's AWESOME! We went through all the phases of my eating/recovery, and food sizes and all of that. She is always available to me via email (weekends and holidays) and then I can call if I really need her. I will see her on Tuesday when I go in for surgery on Tuesday. Good Luck on your journey.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

Glad you're doing well. See, I had the same thought about the Gas X. It's not THAT kind of gas. Let us know how your days progress.

Tried A Belly Dance Class Today

I'm excited to try this. One of my co-workers has been trying to get me to go to her classes with her, but I have been reluctant, but told her I would. The next classes begin in August, since I will be 2 months post surgery, I am going to try it! Good Luck!

    Now I'm Scared!

I hope that you ladies can conquer the nerves. Honestly, I am so excited for Tuesday (Renaissance Day) I am not nervous at all. (Please don't think I'm bragging) I just want you to feel great about this decision. You have made a great choice for your life. It may have it's ups and downs, but you have made a choice to do something about your weight and that is a great start. I wil send you ladies good vibes to conquer the nerves.
  16. I'm not opposed to the training, but I can't be slow. Disney has a strict 16 minute mile pace requirement for all races and I can't do that yet. I'm not paying to race and getting swept. Congrats on the Tri! That's amazing!
  17. I'm in on this one as well! My "BIG" goal is to run in a Disney Half Marathon (I'm hoping for The Princess Half in February--but that may be too soon)

    Manaura

    Hey Jean, How's it going?
  20. I had my pre-op appointment at the hospital, did all the pre-admit paperwork and met with the nutritionist. I am getting so excited for a week from today! I only have 1 day of pre-op diet to follow. I'm doing my own little self imposed pre-op diet. Good luck to those being banded this week! Keep us posted on how you're doing.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

I was told I would be on clear liquids nor the first three days post op then on full liquids. The PA did say it would be hard to get proteins with that, but to begin with protein shakes when I begin full liquids.

    Headsup! Louisiana

Hey Shannon. Glad everything went well for you. I go for my pre-op on Monday. Let's stay in touch through this process. I love Louisiana. I am born and raised here.
  23. I haven't been banded yet, but at my consultation with my surgeon yesterday he said vitamins for the rest of my life. I went today and bought adult gummy multivitamins, gummy Calcium 500mg 2x a day and sublingual B-12. I also bought Biotin.
  24. I wanna play! I'm June 19th. I'm starting my own, self-prescribed pre-op diet on Monday after my pre-op appt at the hospital, My surgeon only requires a day before clear liquid diet, but after listening to everyone here, I am going to do a couple of Protein shakes and a very small meal. I'm very excited. I have told a few friends (very few, like 5), my family of course (who are EXTREMELY happy for me), my boss, and a few co-workers. My husband's family will NOT be told. At least not until I have to. They will not be supportive at all, they would be the ones watching me like a hawk and judging me. I'm excited to begin my Renaissance.

    Wheres My June Bandsters??

Glad you are home. Sounds like you are doing what you should to get rid of that gas pain (that is one part of that I am not looking forward to). Keep us posted on your progress.
