Anyone else binge before they had surgery?
lovealways replied to Didit12262012's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a bucket list of food! Lol. I want to have all my favorites before saying goodbye to them on Jan 1st, when I start a 2 week liquid diet. I don't want to have any regret and think "oh man, I SHOULD have eaten that!" -

I should hear about approval or denial from my insurance company by Friday. Does anyone know anything about insurance procedures? I call them every day to check the status and they say the projected date is January 21st...does that mean if approved that would be my date, or does my surgeon's office just pull a date out of their ass because they have to? lol. I'm wondering if that's the date I'll get if approved. Anyone know?

FIRST DR APP FRIDAY FINALLY :)
lovealways replied to Jimbo_D's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with this. This is a major surgery and a huge life transition. I always worry about those who seem to get the surgery rather quickly. The 6 months are a blessing when they're finally over. It gives you time to process mentally and emotionally how you are feeling about the surgery and it lets you prepare yourself. The 6 months seem like hell at first, but it's what everyone should have to go through. -

Hey Yes, I'm still supposed to be getting the RnY next month. I'm submitting to insurance this week but I worry, because I'm not sure I'll be cleared for surgery during pre-surgical testing because of elevated WBC so that's why I asked how long approval lasts in case mine gets pushed back. I use both this forum and RNYTALK. I love the people here and find both forums helpful. I originally was going for the sleeve but insurance will only cover RNY and lapband. When are you getting sleeved?

Oh wow

For example, lets say I'm approved for surgery by UHC in January, but during pre-surgical testing I have too high a WBC count...will I have enough time to reschedule surgery or will approval expire? I wonder.
-
Does anyone know with UHC, once you are approved, how long do you have till it expires? I heard months and I heard weeks...anyone know?

Pre-Surgical Testing

Sorry for typos! On my phone. I'm going crazy over this. -
Hi guys. My surgery should be set for January. We're sending to insurance next week. I'm so worried though my blood tests will prevent me from getting the surgery. For the past 6 months my WBC count has been elevated. It's been as high as a 13. Normal range is 10. My inflammation markers are up too. My pcp said he will still clear me bug im afraid presurgical testing may tell me im nit ok for surgery. Has this happened to anyone?
