  1. I would say you need to get another fill. Until you get to the green zone your not going to have the full feeling or restriction.
  2. Mine was approved 24 hours after submitted through bcbsnc.

    Post Op Day 7

It's completely normal. Your going to go through this many times and you will learn what real hunger and head hunger is.

Another Pre Consult Quesrtion From Al

No it won't affect the outcome. It may just make it a little more difficult on you. If any of the meds are to stabilize something then you may need to be stabilized before they can do surgery

    Can I Swim Yet?

My doctor had me wait a full month before I could go swimming. I would contact my doctor if I was you before you go swimming because each doctor does surgery in there own way and use different methods to close you up.

    Recovery Time?

A week for me I was just getting ready to move around normally. I had abdominal pain still and you still have the no lifting more then 10 lbs for a month. I guess it all depends on your bodies healing and pain tolerance.
  10. Congrats. Just remember that the next month is for healing and the weight will slow down. I'm one month post op and I had nearly two weeks where nothing happened at all and I exercise everyday and watch my portions. You have a wonderful attitude. Keep it up

    Wathca Gonna Do?

I am going to stick to my half cup to a cup, high protein portions and I am gonna work my butt off for 30 minutes on my elliptical and burn up the calories.
  13. I used ice because heat made me feel horrible. I didn't even want a blanket on me.

    6 Month Supervised Diet

There is no way around the insurance requirements. Your doctor doesn't submit to the insurance until all specialists are done but my surgeons office was very thorough and found out everything for me by. The second visit.

    One Month Out

I too am doing a monthly progress scrapbook. I do my weight and measurements every month. I want to see the difference in myself.

    One Month Out

I usually only eat between 600-800 calories a day and that takes some doing for me. I am having a hard time getting all the calories in I am suppose to. My doctor and nutritionist wants me eating between a half cup to a whole cup, even though I could eat whatever I wanted I choose not to. I stick to what they tell me so I don't stretch my pouch out and cause a slippage.
  17. I agree 100%. If you go through the pain and hell to get the band then I feel you might as well do all you can to succeed.
  18. I'm only in the beginning stages with my band but I plan on doing consignment with my clothing and using that money to buy other clothing from the consignment shop so I don't have to spend a fortune getting transition clothing.

    Totally Petrified Now

It is all completely normal. Just remember the true reason you got the band in the first place. Your health and to better your way of living. I too was very scared after reading so many complications on here but the truth is that many people go without any complications. It just seems like there are so many people with complications because they group together on here. All you need to do is follow your drs rules and diet and you will be fine.
  20. Have heard of people getting the lap band for losing 50 lbs or less. I was just wondering if this is true because I personally had to be a certain bmi or 100lbs or more overweight. Maybe it is more on a self pay type situation where doctors will do it. I'm just curious.
  21. It is normal for it to hurt. My doctor gave me this machine to help get through it. But if you don't have one then you can take deep breathes and hold it a couple times an hour and before you know it youll be feeling better. My worst day was around the third day and it lasted a few days but then I got feeling really good.

Realized How Bad I Need To Lose Weight

Good luck with your journey it is so well worth it. Stay positive and you will succeed.
  23. Was banded on 5/24/12 and have been doing great but about a week ago I noticed the corner of my large incision had a funny bump and it was shiny so I figured it to be a stitch but last night I was itching around the incision and the whole top of a stitch popped up and now has a longer thread to it. It doesn't hurt and isn't infected. I was told once the inside part dissolves it should just pull off. I have an appointment in July to see the doctor because he is only at my office every two weeks. I watch to make sure there's no pain or redness. Has anyone else had this issue?
  24. Thank you for your replies it was worrying me.
