  2. Was standing in the kitchen last night when my husband came out and wrapped his arms around me and made the comment there was so much less of me to hug now. I'm only about 3 months post op but I'm down 59lbs. I feel wonderful and my husband just made my day.

    Misinformed

T seems to me from reading posts that there are so many misinformed people when it comes to what lap and is for. Are there really that many surgeons that are just worried about getting that money that they aren't informing there patients that lap and is just a tool to help you lose weight that it isn't going to make you lose weight. I myself did a lot of research for myself before making this decision.
  4. It all depends on your food choices and exercise. There is not set time for the weight to come off. A lot of people plateau at some point and have to jump start weight loss by changing something up like new exercise routines
  5. That amount is not until you start solid foods. Each persons calorie intake is different. That is something you need to speak to your nutritionist on. For me I am to be eating 1400-1500 calories a day to lose 2 pounds a week. I was told not to worry about calories at this point just make sure to get your protein.

    Please Read - Help

There is a pouch made but what you have to understand is that you will have restriction but the head hunger will still be there and you will have to deal with that. The band also won't stop you from eating. It is you that has to listen to your body and realize when you are full. You can still over eat but you will feel bad for a while after. It all comes down to you listening to your body, and figuring out portion control and working with your band. This is not going to be a quick fix like so many believe. You still need will power and control

  8. Today I'm 2 months post op and have lost a total of 50lbs and 10 1/2 inches off my body so far. I'm so happy with my progress and am completely committed to utilize my band.

    Do You Ever Feel Nauseous

Yes I even get that feeling after drinking water. I guess it may be from being full or eating/drinking too fast

    2 Months Post Op

Thank you for all the replies. I've got the " failure is not an option" mindset
  12. I never found anything good tasting. You can get flavorless protein powder and put it in your food. I was so happy to eat normally so I could get my protein from food.

    Afraid To Lose More Weight

A true friend would be there to support you and not out you because they have a problem with your weightless. You need to do what is best for you and your true friends will be there by your side. If you think that they are just not educated on your new life and how the band works then educate them so there isn't anymore miscommunication.
  14. Unfortunately the 1st fill may not make this problem go away. It usually takes more then one fill to get restriction so what your left with is figuring out how to use your protein and water to satisfy you. One thing I do is keep busy, and make sure your meals are high protein first.

    Is This Normal ???

Mine never looked like that. I would get them checked out. Are the warm to the touch? Infection is what you need to be careful of.

    Itchy

I have had this problem as well but I started taking biotin for my skin and it has helped me
  17. This should of been covered thoroughly before surgery. You aren't working with your band and helping yourself lose weight. Drinking pushes the food through and doesn't give the full feeling that keeps you from overeating.

    Swimming

I was told a month for public pools and any kind of ponds. I'd just make sure your incisions are healed and not oozing or anything.
  19. This is all normal. This time weight loss is totally done by your will power. As for fills yes you may start loosing weight again after a fill but it usually takes more then one fill to get you good restriction. Also something to think about is that if your body isn't use to exercise then you'll be building muscle and muscle weighs more then fat so it is normal to stall. I usually lose weight for a week then stall for a week then lose again. Be patient you'll get there.

    Misinformed

I totally agree it is a complete want situation. I have been overweight my whole life and I want this so bad I have changed my whole life not only for me but my husband and kids too. When I had surgery that was the end of me bringing any bad foods in the home, no cookies, candy, chips or anything, if there is no temptation then you won't eat it.
