Not Sure If I Am Getting Enough Calories

Thanks for the advice, we talked to the Dr. office they said it would be fine to up the calorie intake. We are now shooting for around 1200. I honestly have not tracked my protein, so I am going to start doing that to see how much I am getting in. Thanks again for the help. Becky
  2. When my husband and I had surgery we were told that we need to consume around 800 calories a day-we have been trying to stay as close to that as we can, but I am not seeing the weight come off as fast as I think it should. Should we get in more calories, if so how much for each of us? Stats-- Me-- height 6'1" starting weight 259 current weight 220 surgery date 1/19/12 My husband—height 6'1" starting weight 306 current weight 257 surgery date 1/19/12 Thanks, Becky
  3. According to the numbers on the scale, my weight is not dropping as fast as I would like, but according to the jeans/capris I just bought, my waistline is shrinking at a very good rate—I bought some very comfortable size 10’s.

  9. It finally rained at my house today!!!

  10. I bought new pants today--size 12!!

    Memphis: Wls Friendly Pcp??

Hi Trixie, I am from Northeast Arkansas! I am a self pay patient, but my PCP was supportive of my choice for the lapband. He said that he would be willing to write a letter of referral for me, however, my insurance did not cover weight loss surgery. I wish you the best of luck in finding a new PCP. Becky

    So How Honest Were You....

My husband and I were banded on the same day—Rick has told everyone about his surgery, me, on the other hand, have told only a hand full of people. The first person I told was my sister; I got such a negative response from her. Three of my co-workers know—one has had the surgery herself and she is a wonderful support system for me, another co-worker was worried because I never miss work so I told her and she promised not to tell anyone, the third co-worker actually found out because we are TACT instructors and we had to go to training and when she reached around me to put me in a maneuver, I flinched and she saw the huge bruise on my abdomen. I had to reassure her that she did not put the bruise on me. All three of my co-workers have been very supportive and have not told anyone. The last person I told was the owner of the daycare where my children go. I have known her for a very long time, and I trust her with the most precious things in my life, so I know she will keep my ‘secret’.

My husband and I went for our fills today, his 4th and my 3rd. I am real excited to be on this journey with him, he has lost 37 lbs so far and I have lost 36 lbs. I am proud of the 36 lbs, there are times I get discouraged because I don’t feel that I am losing as fast as I should, but then think about how the weight was not put on overnight, so it will not come off overnight. While at the doctor’s office, they told me that my port has ‘flipped sideways’, but they were able to do the fill. I guess this is something we will have to watch to make sure it does not flip completely over.
