    4 Weeks Post-Op...tired!

I'm a nurse, and I went back to my weekend night job at 3 weeks and my week job at 4 weeks. Because I work 65 hours a week, I make sure to get in all of my protein and fluids and I go to the gym 4-5 days/week. If I don't do those things, I'm almost flat on my *ss at work. I'm a very busy single parent, and there's just not enough time in the day for me to be dragging. Try to get in as much as possible, and as tired as you are, walk around the block. I think it takes time, and when your body is ready, it's just ready. Good Luck!

    Third Shift Workers?

I work a day job Mon-Wed, and nights Thurs, Fri, & Sat. When I work nights, I drink one bottle on the way, one at break, one at lunch, and one on the way home. That's 68oz, so anything more is icing on the cake. I drink 1/2 G2 and 1/2 water . For some reason, water hurts.
  8. Absolutely! What a transformation!

Amout Of Food Your Able To Hold

I can't drink plain water, it hurts too much. I do a mix of 1/2 G2, and 1/2 water in a water bottle. It cuts the calories and carbs of plain G2, and it's not too sweet. I drink at least 4 bottles of the 16.9 oz water bottles (68oz). I usually drink more, because I work out for an hour and a half most days, so I can drink 2 while at at the gym. I prepare the bottles ahead of time, and this has been the easiest way for me to track my fluids. Once I really started paying attention to this, it seems like the weight is coming off quicker. Good Luck!

How Many Carbs Do We Really Need?

Very interesting read. I always did very well on the Atkin's diet, but I would miss fruits so much. Interesting, I see that I could have had a small amount and it wouldn't have hurt. Thanks!

    Before At 262 Now 213

Looking good! I think we all have a little body dysmorphia. I didn't recognize myself in a pic last Christmas. I blurted out, "Who is that big...", then quickly shut up. That was me.

    October Sleevers! Announce Yourselves

Yeah, it's called a Bair Hugger gown. I heard a nurse created it, she was probably tired of going to get warm blankets for the patients. I know how she felt. Most hospitals have them now, since regulating temp decreases risk of infection and helps keep pain under control. Congratulations on your big day, and I wish you a speedy recovery!
  17. I was sleeved on 8/28, and was in a stall for 2 weeks at the 3rd & 4th week post-op. I took the advice of someone on here and did two days of protein shakes for breakfast and lunch (Premier Protein-30 grams each) and ate lean protein and beans for dinner. I also stopped eyeballing how much fluids I'm getting in, I'm actually counting and making sure I get at least 64oz. I came out of the stall with a 4 pound loss, and big changes in my body. I also only weigh once a week, because if it's happening, I'll see it happening.
