Aw, that sucks, but thanks for passing it along. I wonder if this is why the nurse in my surgeon's office called twice this week. We kept playing phone tag. Well, good luck to you, and thanks again. I'm telling everyone I know, lol.

I'm so excited I can hardly type. I'm only 2 months in so if this applies to me, I could possibly get it done by the end of summer. Holy cow!!!! Thanks!

Do you know which Cigna changed their policy? I have the open access plan and it sure would be nice to get sleeved sooner rather than later.

Feeling No Support
Ready4success replied to jazzyjay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think misinformed and uneducated are the most appropriate descriptions. Even if they're thinking to themselves, "She's making a big mistake", they should smile and say I'm happy for you and I'm here if you need me. It's a shame that some people can't be supportive even when they don't agree. Fortunately for me, my family is very supportive. Even if they weren't, they know that wouldn't stop me. I've been known to do things behind their backs before. I am the only overweight person in the family, so that makes me the expert, and I make the decisions. Just think how happy you'll be when you're healthier, and they'll be the first ones to say you look great. -
WOW! I'm hoping I'll need no more than 3 weeks. I had to have unexpected robotic surgery earlier this month, and had to use 2 weeks PTO that I was saving for my sleeve surgery. I felt fine returning to work after 2 weeks this time, I hope it's the same for the sleeve.

My First Disclosure...
Ready4success replied to GivingItMyAll's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Lol, I purposely told the biggest loud mouth in our department, specifically so she could get the word out. Ironically, two other nurses have come out of the closet about their plans to have WLS too. The truth shall set you free. -
Weight Loss Surgery Stigma
Ready4success replied to StrangelyNormal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am blessed to have a family that supports every decision that I make. As for my co-workers, just about everybody there has had their boobs done and tummy tucks, so I just raise my eyebrow when I hear something negative, and ask them if they really want me to go there. -
I'm an OR night nurse on a unit that operates 24/7. For the nurses here, how long before you went back to work post-op?
