    Very Irritated And Short Tempered

As soon as I read it, I thought the same thing.

For Those Who Weigh Every Day -

I don't know if I'll fall into this category after being sleeved, but it's possible. I look at my pension and 401K portfolio everyday, so I guess I could very well start weighing myself everyday too.

For Those Who Weigh Every Day -

It must be a sleeve thing. Even when I was 100lbs lighter, I avoided the scale like the plague. It'll never say what I want it to, and I always end up settling.
  4. Hi! I was just wondering if you had spoken with your doctor and what his next step will be?

    Water Trouble

Hey Angela, how are you? It's been 2 months already? Wow, time is flying by for you.
  6. It can be high based on a lot of things, none of which can be determined by just bloodwork. Did you have to do a gallbladder ultrasound pre-op?
  7. Yes, I used the search function, and only found it mentioned once with vomiting. I've had some head congestion since the weekend, and today I've had chills. I was just wondering if anyone had them on the pre-op diet, or is this a cold I'm getting? Thanks

    Calling All August 28Th Sleevers

I know I'm not getting enough in, but I gag when I try to drink them too. I LOVE Premier Protein and Atkins, but my doctor said those aren't allowed on his pre-op diet, so I'm trying to follow the rules. Everyone says it gets better after the 3rd day, so we should all start feeling better soon.
  10. I'm an OR nurse and we get the surgeons to call or we call family members all the time. The only catch to it is that if the person you tell us to call is not listed on your hospital contact list, then we can't call. Just let the nurse know, I'm more than sure it won't be a problem. Good Luck!

    Calling All August 28Th Sleevers

The headaches are pretty bad today, just took some pain medicine and I'm gonna lay down before going to the gym. I tried the Chike Banana and Vanilla today, and I'm convinced that I won't ever like any of them. I'm force feeding myself, yuck. The liquid diet itself isn't bad, just the yucky tasting shakes. Hope everybody is holding strong.
  12. I'm the single parent of a 16 year old with a mild intellectual disability and speech impairment. I had her when I was 20, so my life as I knew it ended with her birth. I gained 60 pounds during my pregnancy, and she came at 28 weeks gestation, and spent a month and a half in the hospital before coming home. As we were both growing up together, I ate my way through emotions, depression, and disappointment in myself. I had to stop attending college because she was medically fragile, and as she got older, she had speech, PT, & OT twice a week every week. My entire 20s and early 30s were spent trekking back and forth to doctors and therapists appointments, so keeping myself healthy was the last thing on my mind. I finally finished college when I was almost 30, and jumped right back in for graduate school, which I just graduated this year at the age of 36. The journey of being a parent to a special needs child has been hard, but definitely rewarding. She now participates in numerous Special Olympics sports and she cheers on a Special Needs Cheerleading Squad. She's the typical teenager who has an iphone, and wants a car. I tell her that we would have to evacuate the streets everytime she leaves the house, lol.

    That sounds yummy!

    How Do You Do It?

Order the sample pack, so you can taste them before buying in bulk. Chocolate Splendor was hard for me to get down, strawberry Sorbet was a little easier mixed with diet pink lemonade, and the chicken broth went down the best. I'm planning to order more broth.

    Egd Nervous!

It's called a "twilight", where they use propofol.is the same drug you're given to make you sleepy to put the tube down your throat when you get sleeved.
  16. I called Cigna, to check up on the doctor's office numerous times. That's how I found out they lied about submitting my paperwork.

    Need Your Thoughts Please

Sometimes it can be reflux. Have you ever had it? Did you have an EGD, and if so, did they find anything?

    How Do You Deal With.....

My good friend from 1st grade had RNY back in 2001, and she's probably gained all but 50 pounds back. Although I was overweight too, I knew that WLS wasn't for me back then. Now, I'm getting sleeved, and if I text or mention the surgery, she completely ignores me. It was hurtful in the beginning, but now I don't care. I even asked her for a ride home from the hospital, since she works nearby. I have to do this for me.

    Calling All August 28Th Sleevers

I didn't do too well today with the protein shakes. I drank an Unjury Chocolate Splendor and a Strawberry Sorbet. I haven't cheated or anything, but I'll have to do something different if I want to make it 2 weeks.

    Water Wait Gain

Just a little disclaimer, no OTC diuretics (water pills) without consulting your doctor. If your doctor has you on a diuretic, then that's different. Everyone means well here, well mostly everyone, but they may not give the best MEDICAL advice.

    Ladies What Is Your Type?

I was shapely with big boobs. I don't know what type it was, but it was the one the boys liked, :-) and apparently the kind that just goes to round when you become overweight. I'm that shape now, lol.
