    Night Shift Sleevers

Well, if you think that's crazy, I work a day job Mon, Tues, & Wed-30 hrs a week. My second job is Thurs, Fri, & Saturday-32 hrs on the night shift. I have yet to figure out when to eat, I can barely figure out when to exercise. I always have a shake on the way to work (both jobs) and I have a shake 4hrs later. That usually gets me close to the end of my shift. If I'm going to work out right after work, I have to eat something, so I usually have another. It's always at least 4 hrs before bedtime, so I'm okay with that. I'm still pre-op and I never get everything in. Good Luck!

    Nsv-Panera Bread

That's funny. If only it were that easy for me stay away from food. I know a lot restaurants with annoying commercials, it only makes me think about food more.
  3. Wow, that is so good. What are you doing for exercise? We're very similiar in stats and I want to have the same success. I'm still pre-op, but I'm ready, lol. Thanks

    Nsv-Panera Bread

I could only hope the cinnamon crunch bagel would make me sick post-surgery, so I wouldn't ever be tempted by it again, lol.

    Loose Skin

I will say that if you aren't working out right now, you should start. You can be toning and tightening right now, as you work on pre-op weight loss. Since you won't get cleared to work out for several weeks, you'll have lost muscle too. Some areas will sag regardless, but you can be proactive to some extent.

    Hope Not To Silly?

If you belong to the itty bitty committee, then you may be okay going without, but if you're 44EE like myself, then please wear one. Seriously, I'm an OR nurse, you can do whatever makes you comfortable, but you'll have to remove all clothing and jewelry before surgery. Good Luck today!!!

I don't get migraines, but my headaches were horrible the first 3 days. Try to stick to it though, I lost 11 pounds the first week.

Ok, I definitely try it post-op.

    Spin Bike

I've been eyeing the class at my gym. I'm kind of getting bored with the elliptical and treadmill everyday. Does it burn as many calories as the elliptical or less? Thanks
  12. Wow, you look fabulous and so much younger. Like a much younger sister. Rock it, girl.

How Much Weight Lost On Pre-Op?

I'm using Atkins, which is a little higher in fat than recommended, but I felt tortured drinking the others, when I've been drinking Atkins for years, and it's the only one I enjoy. I compromised by drinking 2 Atkins shakes, and a lower fat shake for the 3rd. I was told to drink 4-5 shakes per day, so only drinking 3 is an okay compromise, according to my NUT.

    Egd

Well, I've had 2 EGDs, one with only Versed, and it was horribly uncomfortable, not to mention I felt disoriented for several hours later. The other, with propofol administered by a CRNA and it was the "perfect anesthesia". Due to it's short acting properties, I woke up fully alert within minutes of going into the procedure. My total anesthesia cost after insurance paid: $38 bucks. In my opinion, well worth it.

    Egd

It requires oxygen supplementation, a pulse oximeter, and someone who knows not give CPR to someone laying on a soft surface. None of which, Michael Jackson had. Seriously, propofol is dangerous when administered by someone who either doesn't know what they are doing, or doesn't care about keeping their patient safe. Some states allow advanced practice nurses to administer anesthesia without a MD present. I was given propofol for my EGD by a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), which is an advanced practice nurse. A lot of GI doctors don't offer it because you don't have to be a CRNA to give Versed. They use RNs for sedation, which is a lot cheaper.

    Lump In My Throat.

That sounds a lot like reflux. Are you on any reflux meds?
  21. Amazing!!!! You're my idol! I'm still pre-op, but I hope to lose 120lbs too. If you don't mind me asking, what are your workouts like? How many days, how many hours, cardio, weight training? Give me all of it, lol. Thanks
