Depression Still Going Strong -8 Weeks Post Op - Help

It happened to me tonight. I got a little carried away on the mashed potatoes, and the 5th bite did me in. That was my third meal off of the same medium side item. I just kept swallowing and eventually, it went away. I think I'll stay away from the mashed potatoes for a little while.

At this point, antibiotics and medical management are what he needs most. Just asking, he isn't intubated, is he?

How Would You Respond?
Ready4success replied to BigGirlVee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everybody's not ready to come out of the closet, Cookeeeeeeez. It's fine for some, like me, but some just aren't ready, and that's okay too. It's a journey, so they may decide to come out at the end. -

I Am About To Give Up On My Surgery And School:(
Ready4success replied to mzeo's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Don't give up, I've been there, and still am. If you really want what's best for your daughter, don't give up on the surgery. She needs you to raise her into a respectful, obedient person. If you're that stressed out, why not take one or two classes until things lighten up after surgery? Also, do you have to work full-time? I'm a single parent, so I have to, but if there is anyway to work less, do it. I wish I could've been at home more with my daughter when she was younger. As for your mom, I understand completely. Two moms in the same house is always hard. As a matter of fact, my daughter called me by my first name until she was 6, and called my mom "momma". It gets easier, just take it one day at a time, and do what you can to make it a little easier on yourself. Good Luck and Don't Give Up! -
It's very common during the "decision making" and pre-op phase. In my experience, I went on an all out binge, because psychologically, I was mourning food. It's also referred to as a "food funeral". Some people are able to get control of themselves, and others aren't able to until it's time to start the pre-op diet. I'm sure many people will post with similiar stories. This decision is a big deal, and if you're an emotional eater, it's only natural that you may deal with it this way. Good Luck!

Way to go! You handled the stress perfectly. I love those breadsticks at Olive Garden, I would have been really tempted, lol.

I Know I Shouldn't Complain But...
Ready4success replied to Sleevedreamz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yum. Avocado. I have a list of the things I want to eat when I start puréed. Today was my birthday, and I felt a little depressed for the first time, because I want to eat something. It'll get better I know, and it's so worth it. If I didn't have this site, I don't know what I would do. -

Today is my 37th birthday and I'm spending the weekend in Dallas for nursing training. I'm learning a lot, and sipping on my protein drink and G2. Getting sleeved on the 28th was the best birthday present ever.

Ovarian Cystectomy
Ready4success replied to AliveAgain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had bilateral ovarian cystectomies in May of this year. It was robotic, and I had literally no pain. One cyst was the size of a softball, and the other was the size of a football. It delayed my VSG a little, but I was sleeved earlier this month. -

Swallowing And Feeling Full
Ready4success replied to bandita's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Omg! If I drink more than 2-3 oz in 15 min., I'm bent over in pain. You're saying you can drink an entire bottle of Water in less than 30 min? I would never get thirsty if I could do that. -

Yes, you can palpate a large liver, but we have extra cushion. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Please don't give up!
