Robotic Sleeve? Anyone
Ready4success replied to 052407's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Here's a comparison, I had robotic assisted laparoscopic surgery in May, went back to work after 2 weeks. I just had a single incision laparoscopic gastrectomy in August, and I'm going back to work after 3 weeks. I'm an OR nurse, so I went back to work with no restrictions. I can't say there is any difference in the recovery. What was interesting was that my copay was higher for the non-robotic surgery, go figure. -
August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
Ready4success replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved on 8/28, so I'm 3 weeks post-op today. I didn't hit the 3 week stall, but definitely hit a road bump. Only a 2 pound loss since last week, for a total of almost 30 pounds. I'm feeling like myself now, and I'm ready to do more at the gym. Walking has always been so boring to me, and it's getting old. I return to work Thursday night, and I'm so ready! How is everybody else doing? -
I'd say go for it! It wouldn't offend me at all. You could join this one too or start your own. There's a group for Latino/Mexican Americans, too. I don't see why you can't start a Caucasian American group. Just curious though, how does an African American group on a public discussion board correlate with an all White college?

I'm sorry you're having to go through that. I work all women (nurses), and yes, unfortunately, we gossip. -
When Will The Gurgling Stop?
Ready4success replied to kathyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's happened to me, but I had just eaten 30 minutes before, so I knew I couldn't be hungry. The gurgling feels like hunger, though. -
Say Something Nice About The Last Poster

PDX, You're always willing to give good, sound advice, even when you don't agree with a poster. You're level headed, and don't mind going the extra mile to make sure someone understands. You're one of my fave posters. -

I just kept eating something. I went from one thing to the next with 3 Protein Shakes a day, and sf pospsicles, and low sodium broths were a free for all. I still lost and my liver was fine.

Leg Cramps!
Ready4success replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you drinking enough? It could be due to a few different things, like electrolyte loss or dehydration. I drank G2 for the immediate post-op period, so I didn't have those problems. -

Sliming Again?
Ready4success replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nothing has helped me. It's worse with chicken than any other protein. I try to stop before I get to that point, but if I'm eating too fast, I don't know until it's too late. -

Spider Sleeve......anyone Have One?
Ready4success replied to jenjen82's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's the single incision version of the surgery. The traditional method has 5 incisions, using the spider, you have 2. (one working port and one to pull the stomach out) -
To all the disgusted posters: You're so perfect, but you had to have 85% of your stomach removed, so you could stop over eating. They can't control it, just like you couldn't. Talk about hypocrisy.

I Need Prayers
Ready4success replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Done. Keep the faith and He'll see you through. We have a lot in common, so I want to give a quick testimony about my lean times. I've been off for surgery for 2 weeks with limited funds from one of my jobs, the other doesn't pay if I don't work. I'm a single mom, and I also have a special needs daughter. I've been using my credit card to get by in between checks until I go back to work. I get paid tomorrow, and I had $3.33 in my checking account. All of these things happened TODAY: 1. My car was giving me problems, so I took it in this morning. I pulled out my credit card, but it was a quick fix so they waived the $105 fee. 2. I had to take my daughter to the doctor, my copay is $25, so I pulled out my credit card, and lady at the desk told me that I have a credit so, there's no charge. 3. I took my daughter's prescription to Wal-Mart, and I usually pay $12, so I had my credit card ready, my insurance company reduced the cost of that particular antibiotic to $3, so I had that in change. 4. The BEST one of all, I got home and went to check the mail for my pay check stub, and saw a letter from the IRS. They sent me a refund check for $97, because they said I over paid them. God Is Good, All the Time. -
