Nectar/syntrax
Ready4success replied to robynluevano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I put it in my yogurt. I get the Kroger CarbMaster which has a lot of the same flavors as Syntrax Nectar. That's the only way I can get it down. -

Maximum Amount Of Protein In One Sitting?
Ready4success posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Hello everybody, I asked my NUT if I could do 30g of Protein in the morning with a shake (Premier Protein) and the other 30g in the evening (Kroger CarbMaster yogurt 8g) mixed with 1/2 packet of Syntrax nectar 14g) for 22g and I would fit in a glass of skim milk somewhere for the last 8g. She said it was best to space it out over the course of the day, because all of the protein would not be utilized if I ate so much at one time. Did any other NUTs say this? I think she just wants me to do it her way, and with my schedule, it's not possible. By doing it this way, I'm getting more than 60g because I'm eating foods with protein throughout the day also. Should I cut out the Yogurt and Nectar? I obsess over this more than I ever did over food. -

Hey, just read your message. We're in the same city. I don't know what side of town you live on, but all the following systems provide WLS benefits: Memorial Hermann System (there are 7 hospitals, one on each side of the city), The Methodist Hospital System (4 hospitals), Harris County Hospital District (3 hospitals, 21 clinics), and Texas Children's Hospital (2 hospitals, many clinics, wonderful company, excellent benefits). You could start looking online for vacancies in these systems. As I said before, you're pretty safe from downsizing in the hospitals, unless you're in an executive position. The further away you are from patient interaction, the less stabile. Good Luck. I know you'll find a job somewhere in one of the hospitals, it's the Texas Medical Center. -

Has Anyone Convinced Or Gotten Their Work To Add Bariatric Surgery To The Insurance
Ready4success replied to cloudsprincess's topic in Insurance & Financing
At my previous job, people were hiring on to to get weight loss surgery, and were then leaving after surgery. They were basically in and out of the door in 6 months or less (nurses have benefits from day one and others get it after 3 months). After they discovered the trend, they put an exclusion on the policy that makes everyone eligible after 6 months, so now you have to work for them for 6 months before they'll cover any type of WLS. The good thing is that it's still covered, though. -

I have Cigna Open Access Plus too, and was approved in 5 days also. I called everyday, and called my surgeon's office to tell them when I was approved. Call everyday! -

Me too! I get picked on by girlfriends because they say I wear old lady shoes. They're all flats.

Where do you find a bike for an overweight person? When I get on my daugter's bike, standard Wally world bike, the tires go flat. Is it just that I need bigger tires on a bike, or are there bikes specifically for us? I'm 5'7", 250lbs. Thanks!
-
Ok, I'll try a standard one first. Thanks everybody!

What plan under Cigna do you have? I was told with Open Access, they had 5 days after going to medical review to make a decision, if all the requirements were met. You need to call everyday! I knew that I was approved before my surgeon's office, and the letter didn't come until the following week. Call everyday, so you'll be the first to know. It doesn't matter that you're bothering them, that's their job as reps. Also, if you have a pre-op diet, start it so that if you get last minute approval, you can still go on the 25th. -
I was hoping for the standard, since it's the cheapest. I may try calling around to some of the bike shops for any used ones. Thanks a lot!!!

Thanks for the link, and yes, they're pricey. Do you know if someone my size could use the standard or would I need a heavy-duty?

August Sleevers?! Where Ya's At?
Ready4success replied to futureskinnypants's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's great! I can't wait until I get to 60 pounds lost. I had surgery on a Tuesday, so I only weigh on Tuesdays, so I may have hit a stall and recovered, lol.
