    Surgery And Recovery Alone

I'm so sorry to hear about your separation. It sounds like you really want it to work, and I hope it does. Stay strong and healthy.
  2. I made 1 month post op yesterday too, and I decided it was time to get back to the gym too. I'm not cleared to go until 6 weeks post-op, but I promised myself that I would take it easy. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical at half the intensity I did pre-op, and 30 minutes on the treadmill at half the incline. I felt so good, I wanted to keep going, but I got so hungry, I had to leave. I am amazed at how much easier it is to exercise with a 30 pound lighter body.

The Things Some People Will Say

I haven't had a single negative comment, but the people I work know better than to say something to my face. They'll just keep it to themselves or talk amongst themselves, rather than deal with me.

    What's Worse?

I've experienced both. I was a chubby kid that slimmed down in grade school. I was normal size through junior high and high school, and started gaining after I had my daughter in college. I was a cheerleader and on drill team during that time, so when people see me now, they're surprised. It's embarrassing, so I avoid being seen in my home town, if possible.

    Only 3 Weeks Post-Op

My surgeon told me to wait 6 weeks, but I cheated and started this week at 4 weeks out. I'm only doing an hour of elliptical and treadmill, no lifting until after my 6 weeks post-op visit.
  7. Don't feel bad, I made 1 month out yesterday, and it's only been this week, that I haven't slimed or threw up. Needless to say, I finally slowed down and started looking for signs.

    Vicious Cycle

Maybe you should start the day with something lighter, like a protein shake, until your stomach settles more. I have never been a breakfast person, and usually don't get hungry until around 11, but I started having a protein shake every morning and I don't feel like I'm force feeding myself. I've eaten high protein, low carb yogurt a few mornings, but I still sometimes get nauseous with the yogurt. Good luck.

    Very Weak

In the beginning, I noticed that on days I didn't drink enough, I was the weakest. Still, when I'm feeling weak, I just make it a fluids only day with G2 low cal Gatorade, broths, sf popsicles, and protein shakes. By the next day, I'm usually feeling a lot better. Yesterday was one of those days for me. Hope you guys feel better.

Got Denied By Ins...need Loan Advise..

I got a personal loan through my credit union for 17,000 at an interest rate of 6.0 and I had 36 months to pay it off. The monthly payments were under 500/month. I was able to pay it off before the 3 years was up. I would consider this an option if I had to self-pay.

  18. I had a lot more anxiety in the months leading up to surgery. As I was completing my insurance requirements, I thought I would drive myself nuts. It all changed after I got a date and started my pre-op diet. Suddenly, I had something to focus on for surgery.
