    Eggs

So far so good I have had 4 bites with no issues so far. I made them with milk and a little cheese so they are nice and soft, seems to help. I can't wait for the puréed to be over I am not a fan of puréed things so I'm limited on my options for food. I'm ready to move on haha.
  3. I am over 2 weeks out and I feel like eating is a chore. Will I ever enjoy food again??
  4. It's been just over 2 weeks since surgery and technically 13 days since my 2nd surgery. My hospital journey didn't go as planned I had to go back into surgery on the day I was suppose to be discharged from the hospital. I was fighting some sort of infection and they feared a leak which there wasn't but they ended up putting drains in the 2nd time due to too much fluid built up that I was having a very hard time breathing. Having a hard time doing anything really. Put me on antibiotics and took me off anything oral again everything was IV. I was scared and said what the HELL did I do to myself!!!!!!!!!!! Thank god my fiancé never left my side because I was scared. But I felt so much better when I woke up believe it or not and I truly believe it had a lot to do with the drains. So my hosp stay ended up being 8 days instead of 3. When I made it home I had some nausea for a couple days and was beyond tired and weak. I could not stand for any length of time without feeling faint. And to top off feeling like crap all the heparin in the hosp they gave me started my period and I was pissing out of my a** from the antibiotics for days. Haha I can laugh about it now because it's all a memory now. Everyday I am getting better. Went home with one drain but had it out this past Tuesday and feel even better now that it's out. I am able to get liquids in and shakes and a little food. About 1/4 of a cup at a time. Vitamins don't make me sick which is great and today for the first time I felt like I had enough energy to leave the house and drive. I have learned how important liquids are because whenever I felt faint or out of breathe and my heart would race, if I sat down and focused on getting in the water I started to feel better. It's hard at first everything turned me off and I just didn't want it. But I had to get over that I would be back in the hospital. I had my regrets about this but I only feel that way when I feel weak or tired but on the good days and times I am doing what I should and I feel ok I don't regret it. I also know I will only keep on getting better if I do what I should and I'll regret nothing.
  5. I am just over 2 weeks post op and I was scared like u last week. Drinking was a chore, moving was a big deal and took all I had. I have been extremely weak. But the more days go by the more fluids I can get in the better I feel. I have learned it's all about the fluids. I would get dizzy fast heart rate and breathing thinking I was going to pass out but as soon as I got some water in me I felt better. I am learning to be patient with my body and give it the time it needs to heal. We will get beyond this point and be on the other side and all this pain and unknown will be a distant memory before we know it! I hope u feel better soon.

    Surgery was today!

Here's an updated from me.... I am much better!! Nausea has been gone, I can get fluids and shakes and some soft foods in. Vitamins don't bother me. The only thing I hope gets better soon is my feeling weak. Other than that it's looking up! :-)
  7. Am technically 7 days post op for my surgery but had to go back in due to issues recovering. So I was discharged from the hospital today. Liquids gag or don't sit well. The smells of everything turn me off. I am so weak I'm scared at this point that I will never get liquids down. I take of ran and not 2 seconds later I vomit. Any help with this or hope would be great.
  8. I have nausea meds that that I tried taking last night and it dissolved under my tongue and 2 seconds later I vomited. Water seems to be going ok today. I'm just taking it slow. I just want to know the drinking gets easier??? Also did smells bother anyone???
  9. Just water apple juice and broth I've tried

    Surgery was today!

I am feeling like night and day today from the day before yesterday. My breathing is betters pain is waaaay better. My white blood count has gone down. Heart rate has been going down. The put drains in which I think have helped tremendously. Getting all that fluid out so it doesn't hurt to breathe or walk. Gonna do clear liquids tomorrow to see how i do. Then see what the dr thinks and maybe I can go home the next day. He just wants to be sure there are no leaks so he didn't rush getting me back on clear liquids. I'm able to walk easier today which helps too. I think it's lookin up but I'm being careful. It started from fluid in my abdominal area an the start of an abscess which can be caused by bacteria or a leak.

    Surgery was today!

Well day 3 was even worse. It was suppose to be my go home day and I'm still here because my heart rate was elevated and my blood count was high. So they feted a leak. I had and upper GI and a ct scan which they didn't see a leak. I was having really bad pain in my chest and rib and shoulder area which I thought was gas but they said it should be getting better not worse. So needless to say I was brought back to the OR last night for them to take a look at what my body was fighting my temp was 101 as well. They found fluid in my chest area and the start of an abscess but no leaks. I was devastated that I had to go through surgery again I cried! I regretted my decision I have been in so much pain. But with the drains in draining fluid being on drugs and antibiotics things are lookin better and I feel better. Still have a long healing process to go but as long my white count goes down it should be ok.

    Surgery was today!

Day 2 I'm not gonna lie the gas has been challenging for me. It has been affecting my breathing so I'm on oxygen. It hurts to take deep breaths. And I am walking a lot. I know it will go away soon it just makes moving a challenge. Sipping felt great today fluids are fine just sip slowly.

    Surgery was today!

I'm not gonna lie this whole gas thing is torture. All in my cheat and shoulders which is making it difficult to breathe and lay back. It definitely got worse throughout the day. I had the lap band put in in 2009 and I don't remember it being this bad.
  15. I had my surgery today as well and I'm doing good walking is the key for surer to feeling better.
  16. Well in less than 24 hrs I will be in surgery. Today I'm doing my clear liquid diet and the bowel prep! Lovely! But soon it will be a distant memory. I seriously can't wait to have some soup haha. I have been living on balance bars for months so I am going to welcome soup and mushy food. It's more options than I have given myself in the past few months. Once I am out of surgery and in my room tomorrow I am going to update everyone on how I feel a play by play of the experience so maybe it will help others who are waiting for their big day.

    Things I won't miss...

I will not miss hating cloths shopping I will not miss dreading going to some function or another because people will see how fat I am and my fiancé is skinny and them probably wondering what he's doing with me. I will not miss over eating I will not miss feeling guilty about everything I put in my mouth I will not miss having to figure out what diet to try next I will not miss being overweight I will not miss being able to eat way more than my fiancé at times and wondering what he is thinking when he sees I have more food on my plate than he does but I'm soooo hungry I don't care

    One step closer

That's so great!!! I am doing my clear liquid diet today and bowel prep! Ugh my stomach is not feeling good...haha. But by 730 am tomorrow I will be in surgery and then it will be over no more waiting! Nervous but I was the first time too. So I'm sure it will be fine.

    One step closer

So great your dad is helping with this amazing gift. I know what it feels like when you don't think it's going to happen. I am a band patient and I have had nothing but issues and pain from it since 2009. I wanted it out more than anything and the sleeve done but my insurance denied me twice! I appealed it myself and to my amazement I was approved for the removal of the band and the sleeve done. I'm nervous and excited and grateful. My surgery is the day after tomorrow. Can't wait to get this journey going. Wish you all the best.
  21. My surgery is May 8th I'm freaking out inside a little. I just keep thinking about how I cant undo this one. I had the lap band in 2009. I've done my research asked my questions and I'm just really nervous. Any positive thoughts or advice would be appreciated :-)

    Things I won't miss...

Thank you so much I'm freaking out a little can't believe it's happening this Thursday. I remember not that long ago when I didn't think it was going to happen at all. I feel so blessed for this opportunity. One more day of work then clear liquid day then surgery day. I think I'm gonna do a play by play thread while in the hospital for people who are waiting for their big day.

    Things I won't miss...

My surgery is going to be May 8th so very soon. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. But this thread is reminding of why I'm doing this.... I won't miss being the fat friend Not being able to cross my legs Sweating while trying on close Expensive bras Being afraid of the small airplane seats and the seatbelt Not being able to wear a belt Knee pain Fear of intimacy. Shopping in the plus size section My stomach rolls Hating myself in pictures My mom saying you have done it before on your own why can't you do it again People saying they don't think I need the surgery but they have no clue what it's like to be overweight literally your whole life. Not feeling like the person I know I am meant to be but is hidden by a lot of weight Back fat Things I can't wait for.... Shopping at Victoria's Secret Wearing single digit pant size Being able to walk up stairs with no issue Feeling lighter and healthier Being able to sit on my fiancées lap and feeling confident that I won't crush him Feeling beautiful in my upcoming wedding Wear summer cloths and not feel disgusting in them.... Not have the shorts ride up in between my legs For my legs to not rub together Be able to paint my toes a lot easier Walking to be enjoyable Cute cloths Actually looking forward to summer and winter for both the same reason, the cloths. Summer to be cooler and not afraid to show some skin and winter I might finally be able to wear a pretty sweater indoors and not want to strip naked cause I'm so hot haha I'm ready for my life to change I'm ready to be the person I know have always been inside. I'm tired of trying to hide myself so maybe people won't think I'm fat. I'm over it my life is more important than food and so is my happiness. God bless you all.

    It's Finally Going to Happen

Animim- I have empire blue. I have had complication such as pain and vomiting and I have had no Fluid in my band for months and I still have food get stuck. And my insurance denied me. They denied it again when the spoke to the doctor on the phone. There reason was not medically necessary and non compliant after my first surgery. Well that ticked me off because it wasn't true. So I appealed it myself. I wrote a 2 and a Hal page letter explains everything I have gone through from day one and all the diets I was on even with the band. Then also have them proof. I have them receipts bank statements order history from amazon of buying workout equipment right down to the food scale. Even sent a pic of my workout area. Then to my disbelief they approved it!!!! I read the approval letter like 5 x to make sure that's what it was saying. It said it was medically necessary for me to have it. I hope they don't give you a hard time but don't be surprised if they do. They don't want to pay for if you had one already. But don't give up appeal it. Tesha
  25. I am finally getting the band removed and the sleeve procedure done. I have wanted this for a couple years and I was never able to get it done for many reasons. Mostly insurance issues and moving and changing jobs. But after 2 denials I finally got approved after I appealed it myself. My surgery is may 8 th and I couldn't be more excited and nervous at the same time.
