    Champaign Illinois Anyone? Central area?

I'm up for Panera or Za's. Is anyone else joining us???? All of you who we haven't met yet, we'd love to meet in person. Let's say Za's at noon tomorrow. It is on Springfield Ave in Champaign for those who have never been. See you there. Kelly

I had my surgery Valentines Day last year with Dr. Rohrscheib and he charges 15000 if you pay up front. It costs more if you finance it. It was well worth it! Terry, I miss our lunches! I'm sorry I haven't been available, but maybe we could just go on a random day so we don't have to wait another month. I am free today and tomorrow at lunch. I have found that Panera and Za's are both great places to eat and even El Toro has some things that go down really good. What do you think? I'm so pleased to meet so many new people. Welcome to our thread! Kelly

Terry, Did you go to the dr yet? Are you okay. Little worried after reading your post. Kelly

Who know, who doesn't, and why???

I told everyone about my lap-band because I am really proud of what I have done. The lap-band has been a tool for me because I have to work super hard to make the weight come off. It never just melted off. I have quite a bit to go still, and I just keep chugging away at it. I work out 5 days a week for an hour after my 2 little boys go to bed. Even if I have to wait until 10 at night, I still fit it into my life. I just know that I have to. Don't ever be ashamed about what you have done because there is nothing wrong with asking for help. Sometimes even the strongest most disciplined people need help. Kelly:biggrin:

You ladies sound like you are doing great on your liquid diet! Keep it up! I still think the hardest part about this whole process was that stinking liquid diet. If you can make it through those 2 weeks, the rest will be a piece of cake! Kelly

I'm doing pretty well, but it has been frustrating. I have worked out for 5 days a week for a solid hour, weight lifting and cardio (I mean really hard stuff) and my weight does not reflect my hard work. My tape measure isn't even showing changes in inches really. But, I can't complain because slow is better than not at all. I talked to my doctor yesterday because I had an annual physical and she told me it can take up to 3 months for my body to adjust to all my hard work and conversion of fat to muscle. Then, she said I should see a greater effect on the scale and in my clothes. I am at 10 weeks since I started my program Nov 1st, so I really shouldn't be surprised that I'm not seeing much yet. Truly, I think what I put in my mouth matters most. As far as my clothes go, I need a new wardrobe for work again. I wear a large shirt but could probably wear a medium sometimes and a 14 jean and 12/14 pant. My pants for work look ridiculous. There is a place called Magic Needle near Carle Hospital in Urbana and they are brilliant when it comes to alterations. I am going to see how much it would cost to have my work pants altered. I have 5 pairs and at 69 bucks a pop, I can't afford to just give them away and buy new ones. With all that said, these are the kinds of problems I have been hoping to have all my life because that means my band is doing it's job and I am losing the weight I have always wanted to lose! Kelly

Oh...can I relate to that. I have 3.2 in my 4 cc band now and after every bite and every sip of liquid I have burps too! I think of my band as the opening of a bottle. When you try to pour liquid out of a bottle it makes a glug glug bubbly sound. I feel like that is what my band does as food goes through. Sound weird? But...you're not alone. Also, wanted to welcome all the new people to this thread. It's nice to see it growing. Dr. Sid is great and I'm glad he did my surgery. He has no cases of erosion and only a couple of slips since he's been practicing. That is encouraging. Good luck newbies on your journey! Mine has been great so far. Kelly

Shoot! Now I'm not sure what to do. I didn't have that problem. I'm sorry. Maybe you could use the ticker help menu and see if there are any suggestions. Maybe someone else on this thread has ticker problems and advice. Anyone???
  10. Anyone else use the FIRM exercise program? I love it and am addicted. I would never join a gym as long as I have my FIRM around to kick my butt. Just wondering if anyone else uses it?

I should have been specific. That question was for Kyethra. Sorry.

Hi there again! I was just looking at old posts to this thread and wanted to ask you about your hair. Did it finally grow back for you?

Yep...I do the same thing. My downfall is trying to drink and eat at the same time. You think I'd know by now that I shouldn't do that, but I'm too stubborn. Ata, I went to the U of I too! Congrats on getting your masters. I got my degree in January 2000 in Human Development & Family Studies, but now I work in accounting. Funny how that works out huh? I hope you can join Terry and myself for lunch sometime. We used to meet once a month, but that fell to the wayside with the holidays and everything. Hoping to pick that up again soon.

Hmmm...maybe I can help with your ticker. Go to Trying To Conceive Ticker Click on weight loss ticker. Choose your ticker Choose your icon Fill out your pin number and all blank boxes pertaining to your weight goals. When you hit next, a web address will appear. You can copy and paste that address into your signature on this website and it should appear when you post a reply or thread. See if that works.

Penny, Glad to see you are doing so well. I have been banded since Valentine's Day 2007 and I have only been sick 3 times, all my own fault for drinking and eating at the same time. Shame on me. You should start a ticker so we can see your progress! Kelly

Terry, I had a lovely Christmas! Thanks for asking. I'm sorry to hear about your band. Stay positive and I hope you are wrong about the slipping. Also, have you heard from Jenny in awhile? I hope she is okay.

I'm sorry about your gain. I know how disappointing that can be. I had gained and lost the same 3 pounds up until a week ago. I'm glad you had other plans anyway. I hate cancelling at the last minute, but as a mom of 2 young boys, I feel like I have to always be prepared to change plans. So, I hope we can do it again soon. Have you heard from Jenny? I hope she is doing well. If I don't talk to you again before Christmas, I hope you have a wonderful holiday. It is really nice what you are doing for your sister. Kelly

Terry I am so sorry, but I can't make lunch again. I have a sick little one to check on and an errand to run. Sometimes the holidays drive me nuts because it seems like I'm always busy. I miss our get togethers. Maybe it will be easier after the holidays. Sorry. Kelly

Hey Babbs & Kyethra! You guys really should join us for lunch sometime. We have lunch the first Monday of each month in Champaign. If you can make it over here, it would great to all get to know each other. It has been wonderful, I think, getting to share with other people who have gone through the same thing. Hope you will join us. On November 5th we will be meeting at Panera at Old Farm Shoppes in Champaign on the corner of Mattis and Kirby Avenues. See ya!
