Has Anybody Tried Body By Vi?

I've never tried them, I checked out their site and it wreaked of MLM to me, so I ran away.
  2. I think understanding why this is done is the key to breaking this habit. Someone posted this video a couple weeks ago & I think it really helps to explain why we need to follow this "rule"

    Slamming A Drink...

That was the number I was given by my surgeon. It may not be an exact number, but it's pretty close.
  4. Most insurances that are available to individuals have a waiting period of 12-18months for procedures like WLS if they don't exclude them completely. This is done to keep people from buying a policy, paying 1 or 2 months @ $600-700/mo getting a $10,000+ surgery then canceling. Thus leaving the insurance company losing $9,000

Blood When I Went To Bathroom?

If its bright red, even if it is blood, you really have nothing to worry about. Bright red blood in stool indicates a cut near the anus or an irrataded bleeding hemmroid.

    Weird Question...

I have noticed that since surgery if I'm getting all my water in my BO is very minimal, however if I'm dehydrated it gets a lot worse.

    Can't Get Protein In

The standard consensus is: Don't worry about protien early on. Yes, it is important. But hydration is your first priority right now. Many people have problems getting enough the first week or 2. This is completely normal and should get a bit better everyday.
  8. I think the best way to thank him would be by not hiding what has happened for you. In other words, help him help more people. So many of us are embarrassed by having WLS that the word doesn't get out that this can really change a persons life.

    Weird Changes!

I'll attack the sleeping with mouth open thing. Are you a back sleeper? Have your head propped up on a pillow? Before surgery your double/triple chin made it difficult/uncomfortable to open your mouth in this position. Now that you've lost this, while you sleep, tour mouth naturally relaxes and opens. As far as excessively dry mouth, thats a really good sign that you might need a bit more water in your diet.

Wow that was fast. Great to see that you feel up to posting so soon.
  16. The unfortunate statistics are that the divorce rate is signifigantly higher in couples when one person in the relationship loses a large amount of weight. This can be attributed to many things, a few of which are. ~ views on health no longer aligning (diss agreements on lifestyle) ~ your partner becoming jealous/possessive ~ the "loser" becoming more confident and thus demanding better treatment than was previously accepted ~ your partner feeling that you are now out of his/her league- afraid you will be seeking someone "better" I do know that reassuring your spouse that you are there for the long haul & that you have no interest outside of your relationship goes a long way.

    Post Op Visits?

I was sleeved in Mexico, a have not had any post-op visits. I do however have unlimited access to my surgeon and his team via Skype & telephone. I personally haven't excercised that option but it is there if I feel I want or need it.
  18. Yup there are a few military wives on this forum. Search a thread titled "WBAMC" I know there are a few on that thread.

    Slamming A Drink...

You will only be able to "slam" the capacity of your stomach. But the good news is that Water really flows through your stomach very quickly. For example, right now I am 10 weeks post op & have a stomach capacity of about 4-5oz. Therefore I can quickly drink 4 oz of water, wait a few seconds and do another 4oz. & repeat. I can drink a .5L(16.9oz) bottle of water in under a minute, not that I make a habit of this. At 1year post-op my stomach capacity will be 10oz which will allow me to drink 1/2 of the same bottle, breath for a couple seconds then finish it.

    Cell Phones/tj -- Need Guidance

That is exactly what it means, it also will keep your Droid from checking your email over Mexican towers(the data charges from this alone can be astounding)

    Money In Mexico

Tipping is not as customary in Mexico as it is here. They will appreciate whatever you are willing to give. And it will improve your expierience. It is viewed as a gesture of appreciation rather than simply expected as it is here. You will find people in Mexico will go the extra mile for you regardless.

    Cell Phones/tj -- Need Guidance

What device do you have? I used the hospitals & hotels wifi to keep in contact through FaceTime(Skype) and email. Also you will be pretty close to the border so there is a good chance you will pick up American towers. Just remember to turn off international roaming on your phone, or you could get billed intl rates for all the incoming stuff.
