Anyone From Missouri Heading To Mexico?
O.T.R. sleever replied to chum's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are many reasons. Money being one, another huge one is experience, top Mexican doctors have been doing this procedure for years. They have the experience of performing thousands of these surgeries. Not to mention the care you get at the better Mexican facilities is much more attentive. I can say that I prefer going to Mexico. It was a great experience for me. -

Are Anybody Elses Incisions Still Obvious 3Months Post-Op?
O.T.R. sleever posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know the discoloration will go away, what I am really wondering is , is it like this for most people or is this something unique to me. Every scar I can remember has taken the better part of a year to fade away. -

How Much Weight Regain Is Required After Unbanding Before Drs Will Consider Vsg?
O.T.R. sleever replied to juanfa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First let me preface this by saying that this is not my experience, rather what I have read elsewhere on this forum. In the case of a revision the weight used to determine your qualification is your pre banded weight. Also most often the healing period for scar tissue to heal before revision is 6months. -
Sick Of Protein Shakes!
O.T.R. sleever replied to MiriamE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I highly recommend both of those brands they are top quality & they both offer sample packs. Also a really good one for the uber-finicky is Chike. Chike is a bit higher in calories because it is a high protein meal replacement rather than a protien drink, their banana flavor tastes like banana pudding. -
Sick Of Protein Shakes!
O.T.R. sleever replied to MiriamE's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I highly recommend Unjury chicken soup flavor. It's a great break from all the typical shakes out here. Also have you tried Nectar by Syntrax? They've got som fruitier flavors that are pretty good. -
The unjury unflavored mentioned above is great for mixing with anything creamy/milky. But I wouldn't try using it in tea or anything like that. You might try Syntrax nectar, the are more fruity flavored and much thinner. Also Unjury makes a chicken Soup flavor protien that is awesome.

What Happened To My Taste Buds! Day 12 Pre-Op Diet.
O.T.R. sleever replied to ForMyfamily's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
Nectar is made by Syntrax it is the highest quality protein you can get. Pure whey protein isolate, jut like unjury. Nectar is thinner and has fruitier flavors though. -

Smokeranalyzer Test
O.T.R. sleever replied to SleeveShelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, the physical addiction to nicotine only lasts about a week. After that it's all mental. I don't know how long they can detect the effects through the test, but I'm rooting for you. -
Having Trouble Getting Protein And Water
O.T.R. sleever replied to angelofmercy36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off when was your surgery? If its very recent forget the protein till you get your Water in. Hydration is priority #1. As the swelling in your stomach subsides everything will get easier. -

Any Diabetics Sugars Dropped Too Low?
O.T.R. sleever replied to rapf777's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My son is diabetic, while he was working in a fast food restaurant he experiences several drops in blood sugar. What we found as a good soloution is glucose tablets. They kinda look like a roll of tums & are available in several flavors in most pharmacies. -

Not anything special and not often. I've used Utter Cream about 1/2doz times. -
Protein shots are vials of protein that often advertise large amounts of protein in a small "shot" Optifast makes a pretty wide variety of protein supplements & Meal Replacements just taking a brief look at their website the all seem to be fairly good. I did notice the meal replacements are fairly high calorie for the amount of protein in them. This is not uncommon and is why we use protein supplements rather than meal replacements. I would suggest ordering a sample pack from unjury & Syntrax(Nectar). These so far have proven to be the best options for us. I'd advise saving them till after surgery because your tastes will likely change some. If after trying these you simply can't stomach them (they both have flavors I like & some I detest) then order a sampler from Chike. Chike is very rich & delicious, but again it is a Meal Replacement and does contain a few extra calories.

Why was your ceiling fan laying on your bed?

Without a doubt, to the point that my wife says I'm unbearable. I analyze everything and apparently am quite obvious when she eats something unhealthy. I don't mean to and I really try to not say anything. Especially since she has lost about 40lbs herself, & all of hers was done without the help of WLS. But I am so excited! I can see myself going back to my pre fatty self, and I'm loving it. I just want to bring everybody with me on this ride.

About How Long Do I Have To Make The Most Of It?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Raven21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first 3 moths or so are when you are likely to see the most extreme loss. Most continue losing at an excelerated rate for the first 6months or so. But more important than that is you have to understand, this is not the "magic bullet" it is not gonna do his for you. It is a great tool, kinda like if Weight Watchers was a carpenters hammer, then the sleeve would be a wrecking ball. Though there is a huge difference between them there is 1 big thing they have in common. They're both useless without someone using them. You are gonna end up finding that with all that restriction your gonna want to learn to nourish your body on your limited capacity. The way you view food is going to change completely. Embrace it, and try not to be too harsh on people around you that can still eat way too much. This is the hardest part for me. As far as being able to eat too much, you'll be capable of that very early on. If you so chose. I could drink 5000 calories today if I chose to. But I just don't want that anymore.
