    New Whey Protein Drink

New whey is complete garbage. Sorry for being so blunt about it, but I think the makers of this product should be hung. It gets most of its Protein from collagen/gelatin which has. PDCAAS of 0.086 & is so bad that I cannot even be rated with the PER. if you take the shot you effectively get less than 4g of protein. I have gone into great detail about this product in othe threads.
  4. You are absolutely correct. You dont "have" to tell anybody. But when you drop 100+lbs, don't or a minute think the people around you haven't figured it out. You are not keeping any secret. In reality most people around that have daily interactions with you will wonder why you don't trust them enough to be open with them. While others will consider you disingenuous I see a lot of postings on the tel, don't tell topic. I really don't care what you choose, but don't for 1minute think that you are fooling anybody.

    Macho Cheese Doritos

Most people are cleared for full foods somewhere between 4-8 weeks from surgery(Doritos would fall into this category) the staple line isn't considered fully healed till 6weeks post op, so I would at least wait till then. Now that I have answered your "technical" question I would like to add Carbs(white carbs)like chips trigger cravings. The more of them you eat, the more you want. So I strongly recommend stayin as far away from these as you can If you just can't resist then I recommend you buy the smallest bag you can, chips are one of those things that just won't fill us up. And most of all write your goals down this journey is so much easier with specific goals and timeframes. When you are pursuing a goal it's it's easy to say no to those garbage foods.

    Banded X 5 Years = Tortured X 5 Years

Some concern is a healthy thing. If you weren't concerned I'd worry the fact that you are considering the possibility of failure means that you realize that this isn't going to work without your participation. For this reason alone I think you'll be fine.

For Anyone Debating To Convert To Sleeve

Ha ha ha, that is the one bad side effect of the sleeve, the first few month after being sleeved we go through a period of accelerated weight loss. And since estrogen is stored in fat, it get released into our system so quickly that we become a bit more defensive than we typically are. Fortunately that is temporary.

For Anyone Debating To Convert To Sleeve

I'd just like to clear a couple things up from this thread. 1. All WLS have an amount of risk. Anybody that believes that the risks involved in the sleeve are greater than that of the Lap Band I invite you to visit the forum Vertical Sleeve Talk, sub forum band to sleeve revisions. I assure there is no lack of horror stories & near death experiences involving the LB. I'm very glad that the LB has worked for most people on this forum, & I truly hope it continues to work for you 2. The sleeve has actualy been around since the 1950's. It was originally performed on patients twhos BMI was too high to safely perform RNY on, with the intent of converting it to RNY once the patient reached a safe weight. There are recorded events as far back as the 1970's of RNY patients receiving the first step of the procedure(the sleeve) and then opting to not follow through with the intestinal rerouting, making them a defacto sleever. Furthermore the sleeve has been performed as a stand alone procedure since the mid 90's, the reason most people weren't familiar with it is because it wasn't approved as a stand alone procedure in the United States till about 5-6 years ago.

    Nectar Or Unjury?

Nectar & Unjury are both the highest quality protein you can get. As far as what tastes better, well that tricky. I definately think all sleevers should have a container of Unjury chicken soup, it's a great break from all the sweet proteins. Unjury Chocolate Splendor really does taste like chocolate milk and when mixed with almond milk it is pure heaven. I'm not a big fan of the Strawberry sorbet, just too sweet for me. As far as Nectar goes, I'm kinda hesitant. Fuzzy navel was actually my favorite from them. I also liked the cherry & the chocolate truffle.

    Wtf?!?!

I wouldn't even try to handle this myself. I'd contact my insurance company and ask to speak to their loss prevention officer let them know what happened. Then I'd email them your statement of with a promise that if requested you will be more than happy to mail them a signed & notarized copy. Then let them handle it. If they request the notarized copy I'd send it Fed-Ex or UPS, or at he very least USPS certified/ return receipt requested. Then after informing them that they paid a fraudulent claim I'd request they approve the request from your current dentist. You have invested too much of your time dealing with the idiots at the chain office already.

    Kick Start

What's your caloric daily intake now? You've heard of muscle confusion, right? Basicly changing your workout every few days so your body doesn't know what to expect, and never gets stagnate. Well you can also confuse your metabolism. Say you consume 1000 calories a day, what you can do is boost your caloric intake to 1500 calories for 3 days, then slam them back down to 1000/day again for 5 days or so, then boost for 2days then back down. This method will boost your metabolism. It's not something you want to do long term. But for up to 3 months to reach a goal it really works well. Also if you're just in a stall, save this till you think your weight loss has ended & use it to kick off those last few lbs.

    Post Op Fluids

Yeah, you still have a lot of swelling, it'll get easier daily. Just focus on liquids for now & don't worry about anything else till you can get in 64oz of hydration per day.

    Examples Of Slider Foods

Most slider foods are pretty easy to tell. First off sliders are high calorie/carb If it melts or turns into a liquid while eating (ice cream, Jello, popcorn) If you smash it up and find that it takes up very little space ( potato chips cheese doodles) It's really kind of amazing. Take a bag of Cheetos and put them in a blender then measure them. You'll completely understand why you can eat so many of them.(this works for chips too).

    Post Op Fluids

You won't typically feel any restriction or fee "full" while you are on liquids. You should be drinking as much as you can at this point. Try to get plenty of protein, if you can get 100g or more great. The only exception to this is if protein consumption interferes with hydration. You should be getting at least 64oz/day. I like to use my body weight as a guide for liquid consumption. Example: I currently weigh 217lbs. So I divide 217 in half = 108.5. So my target today is 108oz.
