Chinese Buffet
O.T.R. sleever replied to AmandaRaeLeo's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I still love Chinese buffets. I use them differently now though. I use them as take out. I can get only what I want & pay for only what I will eat. -
Green zone? Are you referring to the Lapland/Plication combination? There are a few ppl w/ that on the Lapband forum.

Husband Is Concerned With Me Going To Mexico

Hmmmm, he says it sounds too good, how do you say something to make too good better? Should I say something bad?? -
Have you been good for 4months? Yes? Go ahead and have a little something. Buy small, very small. Don't get enough to tempt you later.

Vitamin Water zero & Sobe Life Water. Both are 0 carb/calorie. And they are naturally sweetened. No artificial sweeteners.

I was kinda wondering the same thing. That guy is/ was me. Pffft. At least it could have been a more recent pic.

Starting Full Liquids Too Soon Bad Idea?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Chezaraeh's topic in Food and Nutrition
It would be irresponsible for anybody to advise you to progress any faster than your prescribed diet allows. What I will say is I advanced myself early and have experienced no problems. -
Crossing The Border - Luggage
O.T.R. sleever replied to AngelEyesInNJ's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
TSA was worse than the international border. I've gotta say it shouldn't be too big of a deal though. Everything I had fit in my carry on. -

Super Saturday Weigh In
O.T.R. sleever replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats Vance! Way to go. -
I can't even try to pretend that it it would be worse being thin before. I've never been "skinny" but I was very healthy in my younger years, obsessivly so. I trained with the varsity wrestling team while I was still in middle school, was involved in competitive body sculpting, etc. Where it really hurts me is looking how fat I got. I ask myself "How in the hell could you let that happen?". I knew the whole time what I was doing & kept saying I'll take he time next year to fix it. It does make it easier for me to see me making my goal, and makes me believe I can have a great body again, but the disgust I felt toward myself was crippling.

Really Random Question...guys Beware
O.T.R. sleever replied to twoplusone227's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is really not an uncommon concern or occurrence. It's not a problem. Dr will ask you to use pads rather than tampons. -
Body Fortress Advanced Whey Protein
O.T.R. sleever replied to ourjonesfam's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Is this the stuff? If yes, then you are golden. I really like seeing "Whey Protein Isolate" right up top. And no mention of garbage like collagen or Gelatin. Do keep in mind that 52g is more than your body can use at a time though. Stick to the single scoop servings. 26grams is about the max you can absorb at one time. -
Yeah, it's basically 0.5g per lb of body weight. But the calculation doesn't work too well for high BMI people.

I Feel As Though I Am Going To Fail At This Like All The Other Times... Any Encouraging Words?!?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Malisima69's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
We've all been afraid we were going to be the 1 person that failed at this. We've tried so many times before that we have pretty much prepared ourselves for failure before we even start. Guess what look around, there are no failures around here. Yes, many of us have slow starts & get discouraged, some of us go off track and lose control for a while, but bottom line, once you have the tool in your box, and you've acquired the knowledge of how to use it properly, slipping doesn't become a catastrophic event, it's more like a skinned knee. You just gotta remember to get back up and keep going. Here's a link to my first post here. I was afraid I was going to fail too. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/40235-is-this-too-easy/ I also have to add since looking back at my original post, I don't advocate that you cheat like I did. I was anxious to get back to work quickly, so I progressed through my diet much quicker than I should have. But once again, I didn't do it right in the beginning, but that also didn't cause me to fail either. -

Im So Weak Now, Only 4 Months Out
O.T.R. sleever replied to HondaCivicDude's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Lots of whey protein shakes, you'll be fine. It's not uncommon to lose some muscle in the first few weeks, but your muscles do have a memory and will rebuild relatively easily. -
Verizon Cell Phone Service In Tj? Help!
O.T.R. sleever replied to Sherri297's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
What type of phone do you have? If it is a smartphone then you should be able to turn off international roaming. Make sure you do this, because international roaming rates ar astronomical. 1email can cost you $15, and your phone uses data every few minutes to check for emails. And toe, you will be charged for incoming text messages. So I will say again turn your international roaming off. Download google talk, or talkatone, or Skype and use them on wifi. Also you might get an American tower depending on where exactly you are. -
Chia seeds are a great natural stool softener.

Vsg Versus Roux-En-Y ?
O.T.R. sleever replied to ISleevedIt's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Both my dads wife & my wife's dads wife have had RNY. They both had miserable recoveries. Also they both have to take supplements the rest of their lives, & have limited diets. These were the things I saw that convinced me that RNY was not for me. Also through research I've found that VSG is the only procedure that eliminates/reduces ghrelin. Also VSG is much less invasive. Not to mention the sleeve is nearly impossible to stretch, whereas RNY pouches more often than not do get stretched Of course I am bias.
