So - For The Guy Who Works Too Much.. Recipies?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Inline6E46's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I go to Chinese buffets and get carry out. I go straight for meats & veggies, I avoid most sauces. Filling 1 container can feed me for 2+ days. -
Hill Plantation has a store locator on their website. I live in a small town and there are 4 stores that carry PB2.

Advanced Directive?
O.T.R. sleever replied to ArcusX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I absoloutly agree. It is irresponsible to not have a will, living will, & term life insurance. This is regardless of whether or not you are having surgery. -
Yup, losing weight can be a pain in the butt.

I Just Chickened Out
O.T.R. sleever replied to Nicci's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry to hear this. I personally was more afraid of going the rest of my life without living than I was of a minuscule chance of not making it through surgery. -
My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken
O.T.R. sleever replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Umm, I'd like to make an observation here. I've noticed that there just doesn't seem to be any long term (over 1 year) success stories from people who start out not making a major dietary & lifestyle changes. The thing you have to realize is over time some bad habits are going to creep back into our daily life. And nobody is going to stay as vigilant as we start off. This is where the major difference comes in. If you start off with "I'm just going to eat less" and over time you become less focused, where does that leave you? Conversely if you make radical lifestyle & dietary changes, and over time you also lose some focus, where does that leave you. Consider it this way. If you couldn't swim and were going out on a boat that has proven to be less than seaworthy, would you not take a lifejacket? -

Don't take this wrong, but have you considered the possibility that maybe she does suspect that you had WLS and used what a nonWLS patient would consider a compliment as a way to throw a jab at you? -
Can You Shrink Your Sleeve?
O.T.R. sleever replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I'm pretty good at being hard on people, but that really is only needed to wake up someone that has fallen asleep at the wheel. You on the others hand seem to be well aware of what is going on, you just need to decide when you've had enough. Once you've decided that, then you've got to be willing to put the work in to get back on track. The great news is that your body is an amazing thing. IF you have stretched your sleeve your can shrink it back to its normal size. Keep in mind it's normal size is bigger than it was at 6-8 months post op. you fully healed sleeve could be as much as 10oz. Now here's the hard part, in order for your sleeve to shrink, you cannot fill it up. You are going to have to go back to basics, a liquid/soft diet for a couple weeks isn't a bad idea, but for sure you are going to have to measure/weigh your portions. Keep your portions @ or below 6oz at a sitting when you are eating. This is not such a big deal with liquids(as I'm sure you already know). There is really no point in us beating up on you. You need to talk to that woman that watches you brush your teeth and ask her if she has had enough yet, is she willing to do what it takes to fix her problems. I am truly sorry for all the heartache and setbacks you've endured. But the bottom line is there is only one person that can make this happen for you. Today you need to decide to live like no one else, so that later you can LIVE like NO ONE else. -
Pregnant In The Process?!
O.T.R. sleever replied to Beautyandbeyond's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep in mind that if you've been on a required 6mont diet all the fat you burn has been releasing estrogen into your system. All that extra estrogen can play all kinds of silly tricks on you. -

I'm a bit lost here. How does rearranging your intestines fix a twisted/linked sleeve? This really doesn't make sense to me. -

Can I make a suggestion? Start journaling all your food. I use an app called My Net Diary. Keeps up wit everything I eat. When you see what you are doing its easier to control. That might help. -

Paying For Surgery

No you don't. To legaly get Medicaid you basicly have to be destitute. And I'm sure your integrity is of enough importance to not want it illegally. -

I like it. But I use almond or hazelnut torani syrup more. -
Go with the butter. Margarine is basicly a hydrogenated oil, and is horrible for you.
