I Need Help And Im Very Sad
O.T.R. sleever replied to Rosikah's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Judging from the ingredients in the shake in your original post I'd recommend Chike banana flavor and a bit of PB2. I'm sure it won't be a perfect match and it is a bit higher in calories that I prefer, but it does have that rich taste you'll like & it is prodomanantly a whey protein isolate. As far as anybody claiming any shake is the "best", the best is a pure whey protein isolate. Anything else might be someone's "favorite" but it is assuredly not the "best". -
"airing" On The Side Of Caution....
O.T.R. sleever replied to cmaloney's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Small bites & chew thoroughly. A little air is inevitable as it will mix with your saliva, but taking your time will minimize excess air. -

I Wake Up With My Stomach Hurting
O.T.R. sleever replied to Lloydthumper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is this at the incision sites, or is it deeper, like where your stomach is? The fact that it goes away is a pretty good sign. It's likely that you sleep in an awkward position, or maybe you toss & turn a lot which creates extra stress on your incisions. But with some of the complications we've seen lately, from twisted stomachs to leaks that caused some miserable experiences I do have to say, if this is not distinguishable as incision pain go see your doctor. And if they seem dismissive, don't hesitate to get a second opinion. -
Queen of Crop lives in Hawaii. Or at least she did for some time. Maybe if you PM her you might get a response.

When The Dream Ends...
O.T.R. sleever replied to bubblesbgood's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
As much as I hate debt, in this particular case I don't dissagree. Bubbles, I completely understand that you are discouraged and understandably so. You just got kicked int the teeth, HARD. Please take a couple steps back and try to see your situation from the outside. There are always options. You seem pretty convinced that without this surgery your time on earth will be short, if this is the case, you have nothing to lose. Do you own your home? Do you have a decent car? Do you have a retirement plan? How is your credit? I am pretty hard nosed against debt, but I would give up everything I own to save my life. This is a drastic idea, but, I would go as far as to move into a basement apartment, give up my cars & creature comforts. I know a person can survive on well under $1000/month. How quickly could you save up for Mexico surgery that way? I know none of this sounds appealing, but if you are willing to sacrifice big now, you can make this happen. -
Exercise and keep hydrated, and exfoliation. Also be aware that skin will shrink slowly, but it will continue to shrink for approximately 2 years after your surgery date. So there is a good chance that the loose skin you have at the 6month mark may still go away.

Discovered Something About Stalls
O.T.R. sleever replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be ready, I didn't get my first stall till I was 3 months out. Then, I spent 3weeks at 210 and this makes my second week at 205. Good thing for me I'm a very optimistic person. And I've spent enough time on this forum to know that this won't last forever(even though it does feel like it). -

Not Drinking With Meals?
O.T.R. sleever replied to kristikay's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a debatable subject. My opinion. If you measure and only eat the measured portion they are fine. But be aware you will likely not feel satiated very long as the liquid content will allow them to pass throught the stomach rather quickly. -

There is nothing wrong with caffeine in moderation. Just like anything else. If you make it a daily habit, then it becomes a crutch & a detriment to your health. I personally do occasionally drink green tea which has a small amount of caffeine & once or twice a month when I know I will be driving late I will have a 5hr energy shot, which has a ton of caffeine. One thing I can say though. Since I abstain from caffeine most of the time, when I do use it, it is so much more effective.

Subdermal Incision Site Knots
O.T.R. sleever replied to delta_girl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is completely normal. The incision sites are sutured internally with dissolving sutures. They will smooth out over the next couple months. -

Since March 1, 2010, all U.S. citizens – including children – have been required to present a valid passport or passport card for travel into Mexico. While documents are not routinely checked along the land border, Mexican authorities at immigration checkpoints approximately 20 to 30 kilometers from the border with the U.S. will often conduct vehicle and document inspections and will require valid travel documents and an entry permit Funny, the US government says differently. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_970.html

Is Anyone Afraid Of Losing Too Much Weight?
O.T.R. sleever replied to beba238's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Losing too much weight Having too much money My car being too fast All problems I think I could live with. -
Everybody gets stopped, the vast majority of the border guards just want to verify your citizenship. However the actual regulation requires a passport. If you happen to get a hard ass or a rookie that is hellbent on the rules then they can detain you till they get positive identity or they could require you to get proper documentation from the American consulate.
