You are one of the fortunate ones. So am I. I never experienced any notable restriction to liquids. Everything went down pretty easy till I got to soft foods, then I felt it. -

Protein Shakes Help Please
O.T.R. sleever replied to Carol Watts's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The "yes whey" from Bariatric Advantage are high quality whey Protein isolate. They are the only shot on the market that I am aware of that is made with quality Proteins. If you try them please let me know how they go down. Althought I can say the protein is of good quality, I have no idea what they taste like. -

Do Non-Sleevers Eat This Much Protein?
O.T.R. sleever replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How much did you eat pre-op? 12oz steak has 96g of Protein. 12oz of shrimp has 97.2g 12 med chicken wings is 102g Pre-op I could easily eat a 20oz steak, or a 12 oz steak & 6oz of shrimp. That's +- 150g protein. And that's just 1 meal. My son can drink a gallon of milk in a day, that's 130g protein. -

Just my opinion, tatoos on women are rarely attractive. Piercings on the other hand are almost always incredibly HOT!!! (except nose piercings)

Unflavored Protein Powder?
O.T.R. sleever replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yup, you do have to feed your family, but if you are using 4 scoops a day then you are sourcing all your Protein from these shakes. If you are past the liquids stage you will only be using 1-2 scoops/day. My situation is likely different than yours, as I rarely eat at home. A meal typically costs me anywhere from 7-12 dollars. And that's assuming I'm not splurging. So for me, $40/week is a bargain, I have spent more than that on 1 meal. Also keep in mind what you are getting. 100% undamaged whey protein isolate. The best protein currently available for your body. -
Unflavored Protein Powder?
O.T.R. sleever replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It does sound pricy, but if you break it down to price per gram of Protein it's really on par with other high quality whey protein isolate products. Also, 4scoops a day would only be while you are in the liquid stage. 4 scoops = 80+ grams of protein. Also, even if it only lasted 4 days, that's only about 5.75/day. When was the last time you Te for 5.75/meal much less a day? -

When's A Good Time To Exercise
O.T.R. sleever replied to mrs sandy r's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It is best not to exercise just before a meal. Not because any certain time has any physical benifit, but because if you sit down to eat after a workout you will be doing so with a ravenous appetite. I'd recommend after Breakfast or after dinner. -
That would be fine. Basicly anything over 27g in one sitting is pretty much wasted. But if they are spread out a couple hours or more that's fine.
-
The best price I've found was on amazon. They have a 7.5lb bucket for $104. Also you don't really want to drink 50g of protein at one time. Try using 1 scoop at a time. That would deliver 25g which is almost the maximum the human body can use in one sitting.

I'm curious. You are 3weeks out, have you been cleared for solids? Are you mixing anything with the tuna, or eating plain. How much are you eating at one time. -
Whey Protein Isolate Or Soy Protein Isolate?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Mini Me Wanna~Be's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Whey Protein is the best protein supplement for the human body without exception. It is easily digestable & contains all amino acids in the proper amounts. There are several grades of whey. Whey protein isolate is the most preferred, it has more protein per gram than any other. I do not recommend soy as a primary protein source. It is ok here and there but that's about it. It doesn't contain all amino acids used in the human body, it does however contain all essential amino acids. This for most people wouldn't be a problem, but since we aren't eating a full diet, chances are we are not getting all the nutrients the body needs to manufacture the deficient amino acids. Another thing to consider is soy increases the amount of estrogen in your system, again not typically a problem. But, you are dropping weight. Fat stores estrogen, as the fat melts off, the estrogen is dumped into your bloodstream. Then add to that the boost of estrogen from soy, ummmmm, moody much?
