I Want To See Before & After Pics!
O.T.R. sleever replied to Christina760's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Before, and currently. Still 40lbs to go. Think I need to go buy a belt. Haven't been comfortable wearing one in years. -
Advice Needed - Adult Subject Matter!
O.T.R. sleever replied to SStarr2012's topic in The Guys’ Room
Ha ha, looks like I'm late to the party, oh well. Trust me ladies, especially in our youth, finding a woman that wants sex & is not going to play games or see how many hoops they can make us jump through is a really good thing, and somewhat rare too. So even if you do have some extra skin, we ain't saying squat. We are just happy to have some regular action, & if it's NSA then that's even better. -

You Can Gain Weight With The Sleeve

Stalls can come at any time. I've seen people that stalled almost immediately after surgery. And then then there is people like me, I didn't stall till I hit 3 1/2 months then I stalled for 7 weeks. Keep the faith , you be vigilant in doing your part and your sleeve will not let you down.

How Do I Fake It - Not What U Think ;)
O.T.R. sleever replied to Yasmine's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with the come clean & tell the truth program. Best to do it now and get it over than to continue living a lie & giving people more reason not to trust you when it does come out, and eventually it will. "what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive." -
Back Pain And The Sleeve
O.T.R. sleever replied to v_dub1968's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You're weight loss is going to rely almost entirely on you. I'm a big fan of the sleeve over RNY for numerous reasons not the least of which is the fact that the healing from the sleeve is much easier. Mine & my wife's fathers wives have bothe had RNY & both had miserable recoveries. After I breezed through mine my father is going through the process now to get sleeved. Also there are mixed opinions about NSAIDs with the sleeve. I take naproxen for a bad knee(not often). Also not having malabsorption issues means much less problems with future medications & more easily getting all the nutrients needed to properly nourish your body after future surgery. I am currently 6 months out & have lost over 2/3 of my excess body weight. I started @ 289lbs and am currently at 194. I need to get to 155 to have a normal BMI(25). I will say I have been pretty strict on my diet, but haven't gotten much exercise due to my knee issue. So IMO if you were willing to knuckle down and limit yourself to only eating what benifits your body, I see no reason why your weightloss with the sleeve couldn't be as fast as it would be with RNY, without the future issues RNY creates. -

Am I A Candidate For Vsg - Brutal Honest Feedback Needed
O.T.R. sleever replied to chaya's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Being lacto-ovo vegitarian you really don't have anything to worry about protein wise. Really most of the protein we get in the early stages comes from milk(whey) or eggs. There is really no need for meat. -
Whey Protine? Isolate?
O.T.R. sleever replied to GENNYOSKINNY's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
The GNC product is the best of the 2 I can comment on. The body fortress is also a good option although IMO it tastes horrible. As for the 3rd option from Wal-Mart since I'm not sure which product it is I can't say much. Whatever you do stay away from the protein shots. -
Protein, 60+ Grams In Ine Serving?
O.T.R. sleever replied to Miss Michi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The human body is only capable of absorbing 19-27g of protein in one sitting. If you are sipping on it all morning you might be able ro count it as 2 sittings. But you likely aren't benefiting any more than 45g -
Whey Protine? Isolate?
O.T.R. sleever replied to GENNYOSKINNY's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Where are you seeing the word Whey? Are you looking at the ingredients or the front label? Whey should be the first ingredient listed. Isolate is the best, but concentrate is perfectly fine as well. Make sure the ingredients DO NOT include the woes gelatin or collagen. These are protein sources many manufacturers use to make their labels look impressive but are of ZERO benefit as these proteins pass through the digestive system completely intact. What is the product you are looking at? -

Most insurances require BMI 35+ with 2 co morbidities. Or 40+ without. You are very close when it comes to insurance. But keep in mind there is the self pay option. -

So A $3.50 "split Fee" In Our Favorite Restaurant
O.T.R. sleever replied to Rootman's topic in The Lounge
Why is it so wrong? You are occupying space where a paying customer could be sitting using the waiters service, enjoying their decor & climate control. If the plate is split, they have to clean your dishes. I think it's wrong to expect a business to provide these things & not compensate them. -
Unprofessional Or Within Professional Guidelines
O.T.R. sleever replied to GlitteringGoldParodox's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sure it's a bias opinion. But it is also completely professional. She is a dietician, not an MD or a Psycologist. Her job is to help create a balanced diet to properly nourish the body. She is Absoloutly correct. You can lose all the weight you need to without WLS. Unfortunately our problems are most often psychological, habit, or willpower related. All of which fall outside of her realm of expertise. Sometimes you have to decide what is right for you. There are MD's that adamantly oppose WLS, does this make them unprofessional? No, it simply makes them not my physician. -

Sleeve Surgery In The Begining Of The Next Month!
O.T.R. sleever replied to Tina87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't react well to anesthesia. So I was combative coming out(but I was strong enough to be combative). I had some nausea till the IV Meds kicked in (which only took about 15-30min). After that it was smooth sailing. No pain, no further nausea nothing. Was up and walking around in no time. Came off IV about 48hrs after surgery and haven't had a single medication other than a stool softener since.
