Bad Taste
O.T.R. sleever replied to Lhollingsworth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, the good news is that bad taste is called "ketosis" that is evidence that your body is rapidly burning fat cells. The bad news is the only way to get rid of it is to slow the weight loss. It really doesn't stay this bad very long, but I went through a lot of mouthwash & 2 toothbrushes in this stage. -

Can we put this one to rest please. It is understandable that someone that has been through the hell Dawn (Iggy) has, due to a leak, would be more sensitive to potential leak causing activities. I do agree though that "wishing a leak" on someone is a bit harsh, but is very uncharacteristic of Iggy. I'll say, whenever someone seeks advice in those situations, she is almost always one of the first to respond. I think this boils down to a bit of frustration meeting a bit of sensitivity. -
Sounds like a nightmare to me. I may have one or 2 early on. I chalk it up to our subconscious fear of failure. As the weight continues to melt off those "dreams" have quickly turned into sexy dreams.

Best suggestion I can give you is when you slip, and most of us do, sit down, and cry, get ad at yourself, or what ever it is that you do when you let yourself down......... Then here's the important part. You ready? GET OVER IT..... Forgive yourself, and get back on that diet. We all fall from time to time. That just means you have to get up again. Congrats, and BTW, your surgery date is 2 days after my birthday. I'll be celebrating this one 100+lbs lighter than the last one. Can you imagine how cool that feels? And you'll be there soon

Are you looking at the name, or the ingredients? Many protein shot use the word Whey in the name. But they are prodomanantly collagen, a couple examples are "New Whey" , "Super Whey" , Pure Whey" , & "Super Whey". They are all garbage. There is only one real whey protein shot on the market that I am aware of. It is called "Yes Whey" and it is sold only by Bariatric Advantage.

DO NOT waste your money on protein shots. They are completely useless. In my opinion, the people that make & market that garbage should be drawn and quartered, at the very least, they should be prosecuted. The protein that is in these shots is collagen, also known as Gelatin. It is unusable by the human body. The only reason they get awaywith marketing this tripe is because the supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA. Any food that contains gelatin/collagen is required to state on the label "not a signifigant source of protein".

My thoughts would be no. Six weeks is typically when you are allowed to start exercising again, so I surely wouldn't advise starting any full contact sports before that. Erring on the side of caution, I'd even add a couple weeks to that before letting someone kick me in he stomach.

How are you measuring your loss? Is it by the mirror, or by tape measure? I completely understand that you might not perceive any loss in your abdomen, but the reality is that it is very unlikely. I couldn't see any improvement in my gut till one day when I was driving I noticed I was sitting much closer to the steering wheel, and my gut wasn't in the way. I couldn't see an improvement, but what was once a 1/2" gap between the wheel & me was now 3-4". The unfortunate reality is that you will lose weight just the opposite of how you gain it. So if your abdomen is the first area of your body to grow, then it will be the last to go away. But it will go away, keep going, you are already over 50lbs into your journey, you are doing great!! -

Because, when a question is stated in a general manner, such as "all the weight" it leaves a lot to question. And since BMI is the generally accepted method of determining a "healthy" or "normal" weight, that is where it went. If you would like to ask the question in a specific manner then I'll be happy to address it as directly as possible. -
Trust me, I understand. I love me some boudin, étouffée, & I could live on red Beans & dirty rice

Able to, yes, I choose not to because it is a starch which is quickly turned to sugar, but in moderation it wouldn't hurt.
