I personally think the Pyschologist is a wack job. Ya right like someones body wants to be fat. Think about that statement, your body was not created to want anything accept proper nutrition, fluids, vitamins, minerals, exercise and so on. I would seriously question someone who said my body wants to be fat. Remember it is your decision and just because they have initials after their name doesn't mean they know squat about you.

Return To Liquid Diet?
shrinkingturtle replied to bdiddy13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are in a stall. I haven't lost much in the last 3weeks. I am 7 weeks post op. Your body has to take breaks and adjust to what you are putting it through.. Imagine if you had gained all that weight in a couple of months. Most of us would be dead from the stress on out entire body. Well it needs to loose it the same way a bit at a time. Be patient, it will happen, nothing is wrong, nothing is ruined or broken. -
How Will I Know When Im Full?
shrinkingturtle replied to Aug2ndsleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW that is alot of food for 12 days out. I know all surgeons are different but my sleeve is 4 oz. capacity period. I measure out my food and when gone I am done. However, there are some food items that I can't eat a full 4 oz. so with those foods when I hicup I am full. I know some people have said they are the same as me a hicup or a burp. Everyone is different and you have to take it slow and easy until you figure out how you can tell when you are full. I would also check on the amount you are suppose to be eating right now because 1 cup is a lot of food. -
Pulled Muscles....help
shrinkingturtle replied to shrinkingturtle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is more than achy this is shooting stabbing pains everytime I move and dull throbbing when I sit still. Ahhh so done with this pain, I am so restless not being able to workout. -
I was curious if anyone else is having or had this problem. I am 7 weeks post op and have lost 38 lbs. Whoa. A week or so ago I started having pain in my shoulder, elbow and hip. I laid off the workouts for a while and rested and still no change. Since I can't take NSAIDS ie Ibprofen so I went to the Dr. so see first of all what is wrong and secondly, what can be done. The Dr. said that I am loosing weight so fast that my ligaments are not shrinking at the same rate and therefore not supporting my muscles. I am pulling muscles and that is the pain. They say that my ligaments will tighten up eventually and will catch up to the weight loss. Has anyone else had this happen? If so how long were you in pain?

Post Op Pain Killer
shrinkingturtle replied to scorpion509's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had a lot of surgeries in my life and this by far was the most painful and longest recovery. That being said I only took my Lortab ( liquid pain killer ) as needed for the first 3 days. After that I didn't need anything. That isn't to say that I didn't have any pain but it was tolerable. -

Whem Does The Excess Burping Stop?
shrinkingturtle replied to suzjag's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I rarely burp but I hiccup. I have heard that those who do burp a lot either are drinking too fast or through straws. -

Stall Or Starvation?
shrinkingturtle replied to justmeandmysleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
From the start I was told to follow the 70/30 rule. 70% protein 30% carb. With my protein intake between 90-100 grams. So on a perfect day I am 100 grams or more protein and under 30 grams carbs. I am 7 weeks out and have lost steady and am now down 36 pounds with 30-60 minutes of exercise a day. I would low the carbs. -
I'm Still Hungry... And Miserable
shrinkingturtle replied to ImprovedDreamerGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Often hunger is in our heads or is actually thirst. I told myself several times " No this is real hunger and I was wrong" The battle is more in our minds then the numbers on the scale. You have to stay strong and fight the urge to eat and I mean fight hard. Write out your eating plan for the day, post it on the fridge. Mark off items as you eat and if it isn't on the plan it doesn't go in your mouth. Drink more fluids and stick to the plan. I will get better -
I am feeling a bit down today. Long story. But on the bright side I am down 33 pounds.

Increase Protein?
shrinkingturtle replied to Mimismom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take in 90-100 grams a day within 700 calories or less. I work out 7 days a week 30-90 minutes a day and am 5 1/2 weeks post op. I have lost 32#. -
I had a similar sensation that started near that incision and shooter toward my navel. I was told by my surgeon it was some nerve flare up and that it would go away in a couple of weeks. sure enough it did. Howevet double check with your doctor.

"adult" Topic :)
shrinkingturtle replied to Quelyn01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told when I felt up to it. It was probably 1 week, yes 1 week that is how long it took for the fat cells to start releasing stored hormones into my system. Take it slow and careful and make sure that your partner realizes you aren't making any promises. -
Question Re: Stage 2 Foods
shrinkingturtle replied to lizzybeth's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I was advised to stay away from the cream soups. I could have cream of chicken if is was the cup of soup packet instant ones. I could also have Split Pea, Egg Flower, Miso, Hot and Sour, and Tomato. I found all of them I tolerated just fine. Mixing them up makes it easier to not get tired of them. -
Omg I Just Ate Cake 8 Days After Surgery
shrinkingturtle replied to Mishy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All I can say is to ask you this question- If you asking someone to cut you open, remove the majority of you stomach and go through the pain, time and expense to have this surgery is not enough motivation for you to do as you are told by your Dr. then you will not be very successful with your weight loss. You need to realize you have done something voluntarily to your body that has changed you life forever. You do not have a choice, do it or hurt yourself. Wake up, buy in and enjoy the ride.
