  1. I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I was always the heaviest in all of my classes. I have lost 60-100lbs several times in my life, but always gained my loss plus more back. I finally got tired of my weight after spending 1 month in the hospital after emergency neurosurgery/spinal surgery, and a total and partial knee replacement. Sent from my iPad using VST
  2. He sounds like a piece of work. My wife who is thin and gorgeous met, dated, and married me while I was heavy. She took a lot of crap from her family because I wasn't "hot" enough for her. She has been with me through thin and heavy times, and in sickness and health. Next month we will be married 25 years and together almost 30. If he is looking at hot chicks but doesn't like you because you are getting hot, he has problems. Sounds like he has mental issues worse than what you are experiencing. Good luck to you. 3. As I have said a few times on a few threads, I had extensive neurosurgery and spinal surgery and have not been medically released to resume my elliptical use or run. I am thinking about yoga as an option to tone and lose weight.
  4. Yes she is. I think I'll keep her after almost 30 years together. Sent from my iPad using VST
  5. My wonderful wife gave me a card yesterday celebrating almost 60lbs gone with a surprise inside. She ordered a lifecycle and a Pilates machine to help me jump start my exercise plan. She said it's an early 25th anniversary present. I may even take a few classes once I start to feel a bit more comfortable in my own skin. Sent from my iPad using VST
  6. Correction. I am now down 59lbs pounds. Sent from my iPad using VST
  7. I had my three month follow up yesterday and I am down 58lbs. Woohoo!!!! Sent from my iPad using VST
  8. That was a great deal. 300 dollars in my area would get me 4-5 classes
  9. I met with my surgeon today and he has tried yoga but advocates Pilates.I did a bit in physical therapy this morning and liked it.
  10. Good luck on this next stage on your journey.
  11. My physical therapist suggested water aerobics, but I am still very self conscious about my moobs. My wife said it would work great for me if I can get up the confidence to go into the pool in a class. How did Pilates work for you?
  12. I have an appt with my surgeon on Wednesday and will run it by him. Although he wants me to resume some type of exercise program. I'll also ask my physical therapist but wanted to see if anyone has had an success with yoga.

    Average hospital stay?

I was required by my surgeon to spend 2 nights in the hospital. I went in on a Tuesday morning and was discharged on Thursday late morning.

    Post Sleeve Bucket List :)

One more thing on my bucket list is to read my posts more carefully before I hit send. Believe me, i went to college and I can actually count. I realized I went from 3-5 and skipped 4 after I hit the send button.

    Post Sleeve Bucket List :)

    1. Run a 5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon. 2. Have more sex with my wife. 3. Walk outside without a jacket or vest after losing my moobs. 5. Go to a beach with my family without feeling ashamed. 6. Be able to look in the mirror and see that I have lost more than 50lbs. 7. To not wear clothes from any store with big and tall in the name or shop for portly sizes. 8. To finally feel good in my own skin instead of hating myself because of my weight.
  18. I want to shout out to my wonderful wife of 25 years. She has been there with me through my sleeve and three other serious surgeries. She goes with me to my support group and is a very active participant, who gets applause at every meeting. She gives me support when I am feeling down and has always spoken about my sleeve as our journey and surgery, since we have gone through so much in our almost years together.

    Meal replacement shakes?

I use Protizyme and Matrix brand protein shakes. Protizyme has great flavors like peanut butter cookie, vanilla and chocolate cake, as banana cream pie.
  20. Sleeved 2/19 and a total of 56lbs down. I have hit my second stall which has lasted two weeks after losing 4-6lbs weekly. I get a bit frustrated since I have not deviated from the plan. I don't expect to lose as quickly as someone in their 20s or 30s but c'mon!

    Aetna Chioce POS II

I had the same Aetna plan and I was only supposed to submit to three months nutritional counseling. I was then told that I had no comorbities even with a bmi of 49. It took me 18 months of fighting with Aetna after two denials for approval. I finally had to hire a healthcare advocate and threatening to sue before Aetna reversed their decision.
  22. No regrets about getting the sleeve. My only regret is that extensive neurosurgery keeps me from exercising and losing more weight.
  23. I have been seeing a lot of his commercials touting how much he has done for NJ. I don't believe that he did it for any reason other than a presidential run. There would be too many questions about his weight.
