    I Dont Like Food Anymore

I completely understand. My wife always asks me what I want for dinner and I tell her I don't care. She has to force me to eat dinner most nights because I just don't care or enjoy food anymore. Who would have thought I would have developed an eating disorder after surgery? Sent from my iPad using VST

  4. I told no one other than my wife and immediate family and they won't tell him anyone. It is your choice and no ones business. Good luck to you. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Compression gear

The compression gear I am talking about is a male version of spanx. It is an elastic shirt which fits close to the body. There is also a male version of a girdle. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Compression gear

I stared wearing them at the suggestion of my wife. It helps to train and keep excess skin where it belongs. I'm fairly new but will report periodically on my results, Sent from my iPad using VST
  7. That's what my wife did when I was in my liquid phase. It made the final few days tolerable and quick to pass. Sent from my iPad using VST
  8. Family managed to get three Cronuts this morning during an early morning trip to manhattan. Kids loved them but wife wasn't that impressed but said they were ok. She's a pastry chef by profession. Sent from my iPad using VST
  9. Compliance is a good thing when it comes to your new surgically altered stomach. As for the OP, your stomach is being closed by staples which need to heal. Two weeks sounds like a lot of time but it goes by quickly. If your surgeon said full liquids, then stay on full liquids. Unlike the person who said a few Cheerios won't kill you, they can sure cause complications. You should follow the instructions of your surgeon to a a tee. Why is it that anytime someone hears something they don't want to, it's being rude. At this stage pre-op you are most likely experiencing head hunger. Your stomach is swollen and the hormone gherlin which controls hunger removed. No matter what you do, I wish you good luck on your journey. Sent from my iPad using VST
  10. I have a hard time accepting compliments and I too am an only child. My wife tells me how good I look all the time. However, I don't see any changes so its kind of hard to hear/believe them. However, since it's my wife, I am gracious and smile. Sent from my iPad using VST
  11. I too was overweight my entire life. I was always the heaviest kid in my class which made me the brunt of jokes. I got down to 170 my senior year if high school but ballooned up when my father passed away 1 month before my 18th birthday. I have lost and gained 50-100lbs several times during my life. I have had several knee surgeries including a total and partial knee replacement. The partial after a life threatening strep/staph infection. I fought for 18 months and had an additional surgery (extensive spinal/neurosurgery). I finally got sleeved 2 months before my 52nd birthday this year. Sent from my iPad using VST
  12. I looked at mortality rates for the surgeon as well as the amount of successful sleeves performed. Overall, the US wls mortality rate is .05 according to the national association of wls (nawls). Sent from my iPad using VST
  13. You're all wrong. Nothing is better than the Luther- a really greasy cheeseburger sandwiched between two Krispy Kreme donuts. My wife was going to make this for a picnic but there were no takers. I told her if she wanted the homes, cars and insurance money, she would just have to hire a hitman like other wives. 14. I'll try the one for the neck as that is where my skin is getting loose. I do Pilates three times a week and that is helpful. Sent from my iPad using VST

    Did anyone smoke after surgery?

Good luck to you. You are making the right choice. This forum has been such a help to me during the various stages of my journey. Sent from my iPad using VST
  16. No, people are truly eating that much. When my family and I go out for dinner, we are horrified by the massive quantities of food we see people eat. My wife looks at me and says "no wonder America is such an obese nation". However, I think we become more aware if how others eat after surgery.
  17. I was talking about Alex Brecher who founded the forum.
