I had a sleeve gastrectomy in July of 2012. At my heaviest I was a little over 330lbs, I got down to around 170lbs. We (me, my husband and 2 kids) moved put of state and away from all of our friends/family. I got depressed and ate everything in sight, now I weigh 233lbs and am so disgusted and disappointed with myself. I’ve been going to the gym but not like how I should. I feel like I want another surgery to get my “mojo” back and to get me back in the right mind set. Anyone else gone through something similar?

I was just curious how everyone’s weight loss has been going? Has anyone gained a lot of their weight back and considered having the sleeve done again?

I got down to 187lbs but now I fluctuate between 214-216lbs. I'm not happy at all about the weight gain so I am trying to get back down to the 187lbs Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I cheated once during my pre-op and I've been totally slacking lately. I was doing good but then I moved to a mew state, went through some marital issues, and a lot more. I also haven't been on this site for over a year. I know it's those are excuses but I'm going to het back on track. I am back in school (nursing), we are working on our marital issues, and I just stocked up on my Protein powders and got a gym membership. Try vodka and water then add crystal light to it for flavor.

I have a tattoo on each of my wrists from before surgery. I lost over 100 lbs. and they haven't changed one bit. I also work in a surgery center and would recommend waiting a few weeks after your surgery to get a new tattoo. You don't want to risk getting it infected.

The day of my surgery I weighed 314lbs. At my 6 month mark I weighed 212lbs. I'm still losing weight, just a little bit slower. Hope this helps you

I had my surgery on July 24. My starting weight was 330, after my 2-week liquid diet I was 314, now I'm 219. I rarely exercise but I'm trying to change that. I just started taking vitamins too.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'm gonna increase both exercise & protein.

Am I stalling because I'm not getting enough protein?

I was sleeved on July 24 and have lost 57 pounds.

My mom & aunt both had the bypass and regret it everyday. They both look like the walking dead and have to take like 25 vitamins a day because they cannot get the nutrients from food because their stomachs are bypassed. I had the sleeve (my bmi was 44) and I recommend it to everyone. It was the best thing I've ever done. My surgeon doesn't like doing bypasses because how rough they are on the body.

Mine started falling off 3 days post-op and the last one was like 5days post-op.

July 24, down 66 pounds.

I was in and out in 15 minutes. I talked to the shrink about my family life, support system and the reason I wanted the surgery. I answered some questions in a book and that was it. EASY...

My surgeon told me they keep you for at least one day to make sure your vital signs are okay, you can get help asap if needed and to check for leakage. I was released the next morning around 11 am. Better safe than sorry.

Vodka and water (or whatever alcohol you like) and stir in your own crystal light flavor. You get the alcohol without any carbonation and you choose the flavor. Hope this helps you out
