You'll do great Mr. Y - keep your eye on the prize! (Although I don't envy you having to wok with food all day - All I bought at the grocery this week was convenience foods for DH to throw in the microwave)

That's great Brookelaney! I agree that the main reason is to shrink your liver which is important to successful surgery. The "side effect" of getting a jump start on weight loss is a bonus!

My ticker moved!!! Boy that feels good. Worth the dreaded CC&Y. Another week and 1/2 to go.
Last night I didn't think I would make it. I was climbing the walls, but I feel better this morning and getting on the scale definitely helped.
Onwards!

My surgery is May 2nd and I started my pre op a little early. I lost 14 lbs the first week and am now starting the 2nd. It is hard, but stick to it and the results are worthwhile.
Good luck

Made it throught the movie! I am excited to see the results I get on the scale tomorrow morning. I of course have been weighing myself everyday, but tomorrow is the official 1 week and I will change my ticker.
I can do this!!!!

You win when see your sizes going down, the scale going down and you feel so much better about yourself!
Little slips Donna, I wouldn't worry about it - you are almost there.

Hi Mandi,
The Danone Silhouette is fine, Astro makes a 0% fat - no sugar as does Source.
Let us know how it's going.

Hi Green! Nice to see you here. Thanks for the tips. Today will be a challenge for me as I am going to see a movie with a girlfriend. I LOVE MOVIE popcorn and I am sure that the smell will be difficult. But I will buy a diet soda and that will fill me up.
1 1/2 weeks until I join the ranks. I am very excited!!! I had to go buy a robe yesterday because I never wear one at home and I need it for the hospital, so I went into Penningtons. You know what. There are a lot of obese people. Not just me and not just at Penningtons! I went to the food court to find my DH and daughter and was just noticing how many people are not just fat...but truly obese. I am so glad that I am able to do this. I don't want to be one of those unhealthy looking people any longer!
When we went grocery shooping yesterday I told DH that it is too difficult for me to cook so we bought lots of microvave Entrees and he said he will wing it this week. I am very proud of him. Especially because we bought chicken drumsticks and he made shake and bake which my daughter loves. (Okay the mased potatoes were ready made, but asd he said he is working his way up and tonight will serve a vegetable)!
I adore him!!! :kiss2:

Since I already went to the seminar, I won't go again because I have to arrange child care etc. and Mr. Silver has his hands full with me being on the CC&Y diet!
I am sure we will all meet in time....

Are you going Mr. Y?

I just realized that I have only 3 more days of people food left...I guess I should be off looking for the nirvana of my pre-band existance so I can have the perfect meal (for me) before I am bannished to the land of Pre-OP feasting!
But what can the Nirvana meal be...?
Ribs... (too much work for too little gain)
Chinese food... (But I will want more in a couple hours)
Burgers... (McD's, Harveys, BK, licks... too many choices)
Tofu... ( :laugh I can't even say that with a straight face :pound: )
Pizza...( :pizza: MMMMMmmMmm Piiizzzzzzzzaaaaa! )<droool!>
French Fries... (Sadly ... my favourite place changed their menuand the fries are gone)
I can't try them all.... (not enough time left)
I shall have to sus this out myself... since Mrs Yoda will not return in time (5 sleeps to go)
Mr. Y- I had them all - except the ribs and those I should have had! Welcome to the land of CC&Y!

I've got Dan on board to do this with me, and my friend Lauren wants to give it a try too, cause she's stopped losing also (and she's doin' it the old fashion way!) ... it'll be nice to have all 3 of us suffering together![/quoteAttention All: Buy stock in Danone!

And you know what else??? I am sitting here feeling sorry for myself! What a loser!!!

:help: It's almost 7:00 pm on Friday and I just gave dinner to my daughter and I am climbing the walls! This is the first time since I started the CC&Y diet that the smell of food is making me hungry enough to eat anything:hungry:
I am really worried about making it through the weekend. I deperately DO NOT want to fall off this diet. :think

I do apologize to anyone thinking 'shut up already, be thankful for what you've got/done!" and believe me, I'm sorry, and I am. I just don't have people to talk weight things with, so I do it here, cause I know there must be other people who get what I'm talking about. :straight
NO! NO! NO! Mandi - don't apologize. I don't think anyone is thining shut up - we are all so enamoured of your success! This is a support forum for everyone no matter what stage they are at. I for one, want to hear what challenges you and others face during this.

You go Mandi! Okay here it is.
Skim or 1% milk
1% or 0% yogurt, can be sweetened but only artificially - Source, Danone has brands that meet the guidelines - most are 40 calories per serving or less.
1% or less cottage cheese - I have also found a "dry" cottage cheese made by Western Dairy that is .5% and has a different texture than the other for variety.
SF Jello, Diet Crystal lite, coffee, tea and a minimum of 1.5 L of Water per day
Although not on the official diet (you are doing it for a different reason, so go for it) try Simply Egg Whites, to make scambled eggs and something hot to eat!
You can eat as much of these things as you need. I will siggest though that you try to follow a Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack regime - expecially since you are going to the gym. Be careful that your calorie count is not too low because your body could go into "starvation mode".
(I admit that I have been having less than 400 calories per day and it has not done that yet. Since Monday I have shed almost 12 lbs).
Good luck and let us know how it goes! Oh Yeah - breath strips seem essential for me on this diet!

Hi Donna D - I went on April 10th. I wish that I had waited though so that I could have met all you guys!!!

The men on this forum ar hysterical! I love them. Mrs. Yoda and Mrs. CanMacDaddy are two lucky women.
I wan't to stop worrying about dying young and leaving my daughter behind.
I want to be able to walk in any store and not be asked if I am looking for a gift.
I want to wear a pair of killer heels without killing myself.
I want other people's jaws to drop when they see me for the first time after a long time.
I want to get off all this crappy medication I have to take every day.
I want to be able to walk up 2 flights of stairs without needing a hit of oxygen.
I want to be on top wihout the fear of crushing my dh.
I want to wear sexy lingerie and feel good about it.
I want my DH's stocks to do well so he will pay for my Tummy Tuck and breast lift in about a year!!!!

Hang in there Mandi. I wish I could offer more advice and comfort but I am true newbie and learn way more from you than you could ever hear from me!!

I just finished week one of my preop cottage cheese and yogurt diet and lost 14 lbs. I have another 10 days to go. I am hoping to lose 20 before I get banded.
