    Susan's Solemn Silliness

Pre op day two under my belt. It was strange because I hardly ate yeterday, I was not really hungry. As each day passes I am getting more confident that I can do this.

    Argon's Activities

Hi MAndi, I agree with Yoda that you have to get rid of the red belt - it is out of touch with the rest of the dress. Get a button for it to see how that little keyhole opening looks. I would wear the funky dotted shoes with it - not too much. I also really like the seond dress. Not old lady but classy lady. It reallu suits you. I would get a lovely necklace and earrings to go with and one of those killer bras that make cleavage pop. You will look to die for!!! ENjoy and let us know what you did. Susan

    Shocking TLBC news

Yoda I totally agree. The reason I trying to reach Nisrine was to confirm receipt of a large cheque from me...so naturally....especially without any food to calm me :cry , I became concerned. I am no longer worried or concerned. I am sure that all will go well. I'd like to have her job! (Aren't I awful)!!! Bad, bad girl!!!

    Shocking TLBC news

Kathy Palermo assured me that all was well and business as usual at the clinic. I encourage you to call her or Maral for reassurance just as I did. Susan

    Susan's Solemn Silliness

I was just thinking that I would never have done this yogurt and cottage cheese diet as a "diet". It is hard and crazy!!! In all the diets I have tried, very few were of this nature (like the cabbage Soup one or grapefruit diet). I always counted calories or WW etc. I am only doing this for the band. (but the weight loss side effect will be nice)

    Shocking TLBC news

Cat she probably didn't know, as she was let go today.
  8. You go with your bad self CanMan! (how do you like my hood talk?) I'm with wife about approaching drug dealers, didn't you get the band to EXTEND your life? How do you know that didn't have a gun and would have shot you for your remarks? huh??? Glad to know that things are good for you and you are doing well. Susan

    DonnaD's countdown

Hi Donna, Okay well if they said no, it's no and I stand corrected. Since I started a week early, I am not too worried but I wont have anymore. I think you did great. What I am trying to do is eat a breakfast lunch and dinner so that I space out my food throughout the day and feel like I am having meals. I had eggwhites for breakfst this morning, then 1 cup of cottage cheese with a SF Jello for lunch. I don't feel particularly hungry unlike yesterday when I wanted to gnaw off my foot! Keep it up girl! Susan

    Susan's Solemn Silliness

I made it through day 1 of the pre-op! The first hours were harder than later in the day. Now I realize just how hard it is going to be for 2 1/2 weeks, BUT..I also know that I can do it and the results are worth it. Andrew - I also want to know how you can tell if you are in ketosis....

    Life with LeslieLee

LL!!! Great weight loss. I fully admit to being addicted to the scale, so I did peek this morning and was down 3.8 lbs. Water, I know. I will do an official weigh in on Monday mornings and change my ticker then. I really admire you for what you are doing now - losing. I gained before I started and it's not helpful at all. You go girl! Susan

    Rant!

One of the very few people who I have told just called me and said that she read an article in People magazine (the bastian of serious journalism) about addiction transference. She was telling me this like everyone who has gone through WLS will now become addicted to drugs or gambling!!!!! I wanted to scream at her, but instead laughed and said, I never liked drugs, hardly drink and am too broke from paying for this surgery to either gamble or shop!!! She wanted to know if the clinic teaches us about this "side effect" :help: Why are people so ignorant?????

    diabetic bandsters

Hi Susie, I was diagnosed with diabetes over 25 years ago when I was 22 and was also put on insulin immediately. That is to protect your health ans the insulin will work immediately to bring your blood sugars into normal range. I then started to lose weight and went to oral meds, but not ever got off them. I lost 95 lbs. I of course put back the weight over the years. I continued on the orals but 10 years ago when I wanted to get pregnant I had to go on insulin because you can not take those meds when trying to conceive or pregnant. Well, I nevef went off insulin after that. I have not yet been banded, but I am hoping that this time when I reach my goal I will be able to go back on the orals. If not - no big deal. I am very used to taking insulin and monitoring my blood sugars. You may be able to go off meds, but it is likely that at some point in your life (when you are older) you will have to go back on or take insulin. I know this not what you want to hear but diabetes just does not go away like that. You will always be insulin resistant and will always have to be vigilant. You are doing the BEST THING for your health by getting banded and losing weight. People don't die of diabetes, they die of complications from diabetes which can be avoided with good blood sugar control. Don't panic, get as much information as you can. Feel free to PM me anytime. I will be glad to help as I have walked in your shoes. Susan

One thing they told us at the seminar at TLBC is that they give you a great anti-nausea drug during surgery. I am sure they do the same at Dr. C - maybe email them and ask.

I'll change my ticker once a week - but I can assure you I will weigh myself a couple times a day!!! Watch me move my food addiction to scale addiction! LOL I am fessing up about it cause I know myself and I will do that. hmmmm... come to think of it maybe I'll change my ticker everyday!!! A girls' got to be addicted to something! It's almost hard to believe isn't it??? We are close now LL, to join the banded. Are you nervous about the actual surgery?
  22. You Guys!!!!! You are so sweet.....You have to post some pics of you two some day.

    Susan's Solemn Silliness

Hi Leslielee. I can eat as much as I want of SF 0 or low fat yogurt, cottage cheese, SF Jello, Skim Milk, Egg whites. Are you allowed any food with Optifast? I love the idea of bra and panty set! I am going to do that and hang it up in our bedroom. Dh said he would pay for my Breast lift and tummy tuck when I get to goal IF...his stocks do well. Maybe that will give him incentive too!!! LOL.
