Yoda's Jedi Journals (aka Yoda's Yammerin's)
susansilver replied to Yoda's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
LOl! Seriously Yoda, you look fabulous. I'm...... GREEN with envy!!! -
Ginger, I don't mean to admonish you, but I was just reading the manual I got with my band, and the reason that we are not supposed to eat anything solid for 1 month is that the food could possibly mis-shape the band, or slip it out of position. Please be careful, you don't want to have another surgery. I started on full fluids today which include protein shakes, which are filling, cram soups which are delicious and vegetable juice which is both! Godd luck.

I just got my appointments in the mail. I too am going June 18th (my DD's birthday), but at 9:30, so I won't see you guys:cry

You Yodas are adorable! Has anyone ever mentioned perhaps having your ears pinned? Just a thought. -
As Yoda said, Dr. Yau did my surgery at Scarborough Grace. Do you have to have yours done at the hospital as well?
-
Paulette - that sucks! I hope your new date is soon. NV girl- glad all went well. Check om when you are feeling better.
-
Congratulations! That is a great milestone.
-
Welcome Lisa! Congrats on your decision. We have to get you added to the calendar.

I didn't even know about it, but I definitely want to go. Since I was banded in the hospital, I did not get the after care package. Kathy is away today so I will call her tomorrow to get all the info. Mr. Y - what type of band did you get? Dr. Yau told me he put in the Swedish and everyone else seems to have the mid band. I wonder why? I will ask Kathy that as well tomorrow. So maybe we will meet after all! Will Mrs. Y be there with you? Maybe we can organize a "lunch" - we can all go to a restaurant, and order 1 dish between us! LOL
-
I like this one too but we should ask the guys if they have any objections.
-
Right of course. I was not thinking of miracle in a religious sense, but that is me! May Motivators?

It's been ages since I wrote on here. Gotta keep up! Tomorrow I go back to work. I am a little nervous worrying what if: I become weak or dizzy. People notice me only drinking fluids. Don't think they will notice my weight loss because I am wearing the same clothes that I was rapidly growing out of! Anyways at my weight 20 lbs is not that noticeable! I am enjoying being off work!! Thank goodness I did not have to take this as vacation time - I need to plan some. On the other hand it will be good for me to get back into my routine and not think about "ME" all the time. DH is a dear but does not know how to do laundry. I miss cooking. The weather is nicer, looking forward to going out for walks without fear of falling down! Can't wait to get on my bike!! Looking forward to my first bite of real food and to see how fast I can feel full!!!

How about the May Miracles? The only reason I don't like the flower references is because the men on this thread may object! LOL
-
So so sad. Perhaps they should do a stroy on why OHIP doesn't fund the lapband!

Dizzy (and I am only dyed blonde)

Hi Cat, No nausea and much less weak these days. When I burp it is more of a tightness I feel than pain. I have been able to sip Water and juice quite easily. broth, about 1/2 cup at a time and about 1/2 Jello at a time. I know that Dr. Y is always very concerned about dehydration, therefore I would advise you to call the clinic if you are having trouble sipping water. Are you siiping slowly? That may help. I used a straw for the first few days and if I took to big a sip held some of the water in my mouth and let it trickle down. Cat, please let us know how you are doing!!!! -
Welcome back all the early May banders

Hi Leslielee. Oh MY! Just looked at your ticker and you are already down 15lbs before preop! That's a great running leap. When do you start Optifast? What else do you get to eat with it? Today I start full fluids and I will try one of these premixed Protein Shakes I bougt. They are expecially for diabetics, so I hope they taste decent. I also bought some nice cream Soups. It will be interesting to see how it goes because I could not eat a Jello portion in one sitting yesterday! LOL Life will NEVER be the same. HAng in the LL... -
I am 4 days post op - on clear fluids until tomorrow and I find that I am very dizzy. Every time I stand up I am lightheaded. Has anyone else experienced this?
-
Good luck! I am sure you will do great. Don't forget to take good care of yourself afterwards.
-
I tried Jello today and found it a litlle difficult. I could not eat the entire small container - only about 1/2 until I felt full.
-
Just HOW weird Slackaction? LOL:) To all the May bandsters coming up this week....It will go fine! Take good care of yourselves afterwards, rest, take your meds and don't rush your post-op diet! My thoughts are with you all
-
Mandi - you are doing great. Your weightloss is inspiring and I love how you seem so confident with the jerk and with your employers. Good luck whatever you decide.
-
Hope you all did well today!

Because I stayed overnight I got morphine all night, so the tylenol 3 seem fine to me. I woke up this morning feeling better. Had 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep and so far no pain meds needed. Drinking coffee now! yummmmm
-
Waiting to hear how you are Susan!
susansilver replied to LeslieLee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi LeslieLee! Thanks I am doing quite well. Right now full of tylenol 3. Yup codeine rocks. I wrote about my experience on the Best o'luck Susansilver thread. I hope yours goes as well. -
