Thanks for your words of encouragement Yoda. Send me your bill for therapy! LOL! I do feel better this morning. I think it was the shock at learning all that I was doing wrong. I will stick to these portions, I will add Protein powder to everything, I will drink lots and lots of Water and I will be strong. You guys did it and I can do it too!!

I just found out that for the past 2 days I have been "eating" way too much. For some strange reason I thought that the 1/2 c of this and 1/4 c of that were just to start you off slowly. I didn't realize that is the actual portion sizes that you must stick to. Now I am worried. Perhaps I did some damage to my band or my pouch. Also, I am feeling "deprived" now, knowing that of the fluids I CAN eat, i CAN'T eat very much at all. I know I will be hungry! I bought some Beneprotein today to add to everything, but how do you add beneprotein to 1/4 C of Protein shake???? This is the first time since I started the pre-op that I am frightened of cheating myself. I need to really get my head around these quantities and feel satisfied with my portions. Any suggestions?

How many carbs in the the Unjury? This is about 30 grm per 250 ml. The carbs are slow acting for diabetics. -
Should I be concerned about diet & Exercise NOW?
susansilver replied to susansilver's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are right about the portions Yoda - I thought that was if you can ONLY eat that much. What a dummy I am! I better be careful because the thought of gaining weight right now is stressing me out! The last time I worked out regularly was about a year ago! I will start again, but just walking outside or on the treadmill. -
Full fluid or not?

Very interesting Cat. Now, 2 years later, I would love to see the comparisons of the AGB to the other bariatric surgeries for weight loss and weight maintenance. -

Ah Yoda - you are the best! I never thought of putting protein powder in my protein shake! I will do that cause I don't think I am getting enough protein still.

Yesterday was my first really hungry day. I had a Protein shake for Breakfast, cream of tomato Soup for lunch and pomegranate juice, when I came home I had 1/2 c. veggie juice and then a full can of cheddar cheese soup (I know the calories in that are high, but I felt I needed some). Then later had another 1/2 c. veggie juice and a sf popsicle. This was the most I have eaten in weeks! My scale went up about a pound this morning, but I am not going to worry about that yet.

There is a Cultures restaurant right near my office that sells LOW FAT frozen yougurt. I think this could be an option as a "treat". -

Yipee Mr. Yoda! That is an amazing loss Mr. Those full fluids are a gourmet treat. I don't know if you bought protein shakes or not, but Shoopers has a store brand Life that is especially for diabetics. The chocolate flavour is quite good. How are you feeling? -

That was not the question. I notice in your signature that you say you are not the food police for anyone but yourself. Are you sure? -
Andrew - you are an inspiration! Are you exercising yet?

Sorry about my bad sense of humour - no offense to anyone. I am wondering if any other newly banded is feeling dizzy. I am almost constantly. What do you think it's from? I start full fluids tomorrow, so I was thinking that might help. To you veterans....did this happen to you? Do you get this after fills?

Dizzy (and I am only dyed blonde)

Doing well! I love the cream soups - so tasty!!! I am also having protein shakes which are not too bad. I just had a bowl of cream of tomato and it was delicious and I feel stuffed! This is amazing!! Can't wait to try real food. -
How difficult is the initial post op diet?
susansilver replied to NoWorry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What has helped me is to think about it for my HEALTH and not to lose any weight at this stage (of course you do but I think of that as a "side effect". The pre op was to shrink my liver in order to make surgery easier and the post op is to heal. I don't feel much restriction, but I am finding that Protein shakes and cream soups do fill me up. Good luck -
No tightness for me. For the bad breath I am using those breath strips. They last for a little while anyways. I will NEVER eat yogurt again!!!! I didn't realize it was on the full fluids list. I thought only soups and juices.

I would have switched but since its My DD birthday, I am planning to take treats to her classroom mid afternoon, so it would not work for me.

Good for you! Sometimes we don't see the results of our hard labours until a week or two later. The lost inches are a fabulous indication of how well you are doing!

Morning! Back to work today. I was getting used to retirement! The worst thing about is putting on makeup and a suit! Since I have coffee first thing in the morning, can't eat yet so I will bring a Protein shake for mid morning and Soup at hand for a later lunch. Hope things are not a disaster at my desk!!!!

Mine was very supportive after we discussed my history and she did some research on the band.
