Question? After you eat does your stomach hurt?
Khuff replied to Khuff's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I take about 30 minutes to eat. The problem is that by the second or third bite, I get nauseated. I am barely eating. I was great the first four weeks. But now I am constantly feeling sick. I am even taking my zofran before I eat and it doesn't make a difference. -

Music1618, how long did this last for you? I have been taking zofran. Is that what your doctor gave you? I feel like I am not eating at all because of this and am very discouraged. -
Yes life will change for you. I looked up everything possible on line. I had gastric bypass and was doing awesome. Now I am nauseated always. Very frustrating

Thank you so much for your reply. I was starting to worry something might be wrong. So did you just eat what you could and stop when you felt to sick to eat? I feel like I am barely getting anything down. Did yours last a couple of weeks? How did you make it through? -

Cream of wheat is the best! !! -
I am 5 weeks out and had spaghetti. I didn't use alot of noodles. But some with more meat and a little sauce. I had to use healthy noodles. But it was awesome.

My nutritionist told me about pita chaos. The brand is Stacy's. They make different flavors. I eat the simply naked with sea salt. For about ten chips is 3g of protein, less than 1g of sugar. I put my laughing cow cheese in it. Or have taco meat over 4 or 5 chips for taco salad, except no salad yet. You can buy these in the deli area if grocery stores and also Sam's club has them.

I had to make myself cut down on food. It was hard. I would not feel good and get headaches. Now I look back and realize that wasn't anything compared to now. I hardly eat at all after gastric bypass. Give yourself time to adjust and slowly cut back on food. Try eating more protein or the drinks.

The emotional is much worse I think. I am upset that I am not losing as much as other people. I swore I wouldn't compare, but I am doing just that. I am not getting my protein in or enough I should say. I know that is the problem. Are you guys getting in all yours?

Oh my. How crazy. I hope it all goes well for you.

Scared as hell, operation scheduled in 3.5 weeks.

I will tell you that this is exactly how I felt about my surgery. (gastric bypass) Mine was Dec. 18th. I really thought I was going to die during surgery. I have had many surgeries, so I have no idea why I thought this one was different. But I am going to be totally honest, it wasn't that bad. I was up walking the same day as well. That is the key to get up and walk out the gases. Those are what is uncomfortable. But it is life changing, and I thought I would just die without food during Christmas. I didn't. Yes, it was emotional hunger watching everyone eat and all the commercials, but never was I hungry. It is so worth it. I love how I feel. And it does get easier with everyday that goes by. You all can do this. And help is always here. Good luck!!! -

Congrats! My surgery was Dec 18 th. It is crazy how we all lose at different paces. I have lost 40 pounds last time I checked. It is hard not to compare and question yourself. I was so nervous, but I really didn't think the surgery or recovery was bad. -
I think it sounds like a kidney stone. Go to the doctor!!!

I start Soft food tomorrow
Khuff replied to tink65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
for soft foods, I eat, oatmeal sugar free, whole grain cream of wheat, carbmater yogurt, no sugar added tapioca pudding, sugar free popcicles and sf jello. Lots of soup and add protein powder to it. Lentil soup is great in protein and tastes good, refried beans with cheese and sour cream. Eggs with cut up ham. Lunch meat chopped up tiny. I had real soft meatloaf. Cook veggies down to where I can mush them up. Hope this has helped. -

I haven't tried noodles yet. And doesn't our fruit have to be either frozen or cooked but not fresh? -

What did you try? I started with Cream of wheat. I didn't make it to thick. I put some exta milk in it so it was soft. That worked great for me. They say that something may not work one day, but could work another. I sometimes think it is hard for our stomach to have that real food on it, for the first few times. Just my thought. Let me know how it goes. -

I am nowhere near my protien. I honestly don't know what my problem is. I don't like the powder putting in my food. But I have had to to get it in. I have no idea how I will get close to what I need. I am not getting more than 500 calories in either. But I know I won't lose the pounds if I don't get my protien in. So I am scared to. I have heard alot of people lose less or even gain when they start to excercise. But muscle wieghs more than fat and everyone is gaining muscle. -

I just started mushy food yesterday and I love cream of wheat. It is so good with a little bit of butter and splenda. I make mine with 1% milk for the extra protien. I think that has to be my favorite thing so far. I had homeade meatloaf with cauliflower. It was awesome and my fork mashed it up perfect. I haven't tried mashed potatoes yet. I am sure those will be awesome. I eat alot of broccoli cheese soup. I have eaten some potato soup too.,.If you have enough food choices, you can get through. I just have to get creative. -
I am hardly eating any calories. I have an app. on my phone that counts everything. I never get 500 calories in a day. But I am full and try lots of diffferent things. I am hoping it will change now that I just moved to mushy foods. But those foods feel you up even more than the other ones. I don't get my protein in either. I think I would be losing alot better if I could get both of those up.

Okay, thanks.

Where did you get this at?

New Here, Revision date Jan 14

Mine didn't end at all. I was all the way up til they put me under. But now I ask myself why I made such a big deal, I think the worst thing about it all, was the gas that you have to walk off and the catheter. You will do great!
