Ya i'm going through the same thing.. I got banded Jan 24 of this year.. and I've lost 32 lbs. Felt a lot of restriction the first 6 weeks or so... but now virtually nothing. My doctor has had issues finding my port and I have to go to a surgeon to get the fill done. So it is discouraging for sure. But I have also heard the same... the first few months can feel like you dont have a band.. and they like to do the increments slowly to help prevent complications. But 2MuchFun, you're right... its just a diet right now until you find your sweet spot.... THAT I need to remind my self.. just because my bands not restricting.. doenst NOT mean I can eat what ever I want. NO reason why you cant be living the life style band diet Best of luck! And hang in there... I totaly know what you are going through

My Doctors Cant Access My Port. 3 Months Post Op
nessievantelli posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hello! I had my lap band surgery done Jan 24, 2012 I have been to the Doctor three times since march to have my First Fill done, and my Doctor has been unable to locate my port. He can palpate it... and so can I , but when he inserts the needle he is unable to get it in. He finally refered me to a Surgeon today, and even the surgeon coudlnt palpate it well enough to feel confident to insert a needle. He wants to try a barrium swallow to check for placement, plus use a Fluroscope to hopefully locate and insert into the port. Has anyone else had issues like this? I've lost 32 lbs since my surgery, but the last month havnt lost anything. I feel no restriction hardly. I have an Allergan Band. (10 cc band) and I was given 6 cc fill upon surgery. I NEED some advice or talk with someone who has had similar problems. Nessie -

Thanks for all the info. Makes me feel a lot better knowing that not everyone has had such an easy time finding their port. I think the Fluroscope will show a lot. And I agree they should have maybe done this the FIRST time they had difficulties.. not the third. This is a bit off topic.. but when you noticed the first time you didnt have restriction where you able to eat up to a couple cups of food? Thats what im experiencing now.... Where when I first had surgery.. the first couple months I could only eat 3/4- 1 cup of food. -
